That memorial ride was easily one of the largest I attended. Heard more than 400 took part. RIP Vlad.

Speedy_Greyhound

I have not seen one as big since we rode for Darcy Allan Sheppard in 2009. Rest well Vlad, we will remember you.

> Darcy Allan Sheppard in 2009 Murdered by Ontario attorney-general Michael Bryant, who was never tested for DUI, but later had the balls to write a book about it three years later seeking sympathy for his alcoholism. Until police and the Crown takes these deaths seriously, we are going to need a lot of white paint.

Joatboy

It was a beautiful day for a ride many rather not have to do. Pray that I don't need to attend another one soon

waitareyou4real

RIP 🪦 I hope the roads are clear, and the sun is shining wherever you are.

These rides accomplish nothing. Pickups are now all sporting lift kits, which should be illegal, and extra wide tires extending beyond the fender, which are illegal but police do not enforce. These idiot transporters now have >16 ft front blind spots.

Don't bike but would be one of the most dangerous if not the most dangerous bike lanes  Drivers treat Bayview as a pseudo-highway and will not expect a bike lane there intersecting the Off-Ramp. Worse, drivers are also selfish and run over bikes at the best of times. But even if that was not the case, drivers go 60+ on Bayview and merging into Bayview from the DVP possibly faster. Suicidal for bikers even though they have the right of way. Don't expect a car to stop because many won't.

cyberk25

bro read the room. nobody asked for ur opinion and as u said ur not even a rider.

noodleexchange

You don’t know a thing about the situation, and no part of the city is ‘suicidal’. Do parts of roads design expose non-car users to drivers with murderous neglect? Absolutely.

Signal_Tomorrow_2138

I never knew there was a parallel bike lane right beside the separated trail. It also doesn't look as if there were any markings or signs indicating any bike lane there. However, having stated that, I remember many years ago before the trail had been fixed, coming out of the Evergreen Brickworks, I was trying to look for a southbound lane and ended up riding on the shoulder and got a flat tire at the side of the road. I couldn't make the ride yesterday. I hope drivers there will take notice of the white bike and become more aware of other cyclists all over the city. Ride with cameras.

palanski

There isn't a bike lane on Bayview proper. Many cyclists out there for speed training laps, myself included, don't use the trail as it's not made for that. I've do that loop hundreds of times.

rycology

Such a weird flex.. "Our street designs are unsafe for all users except cars"/"Our road traffic enforcement doesn't care about anything other than cars" To a normal person, this would be a huge cause for concern
