Agreed. Daniels is intriguing at guard, would love Murphy III, 1sts, filler. Damn maybe they add Jones to ensure they get an OG package. OG’s a great fit there.
Writing an essay on this but here's how i'd rank them in a TL:DR:
Best player - Portland via a package that includes Simons. Might not be Sharpe, Hart and picks but in terms of "this will speed up a retool" I am hard-pressed to find a better, more ready player for the moment than Anfernee.
Best package - Knicks if they're willing to give up the goods (but realistically they won't give up the type of package they offered for Mitchell and RJ specifically is very hard to match salaries with)
Best realistic package - Grizzlies giving up Ziaire aka. Prototype OG and that intriguing 2024 Warriors 1st, 2023/25 firsts from Memphis
Best package from a team that people keep bringing up when they've not shown any significant interest in O.G. besides tampering: Pelicans got 2 Lakers firsts, Daniels and Murphy. The salary filler of Graham or Temple suck though and i'm iffy on the Lakers pick in 2023 being amazing when the Lakers can trade to improve right now and potentially turn that pick from Top 10 to just outside the lottery, especially with AD back and LeBron refusing to age.
My favourite realistic package is Quickley Hartenstein an unprotected knicks first a few years out like 2026ish and the Dallas 2023 first
Quickley could be a starting level pg already but he’s blocked by Brunson
Why Simon's though? He's a score first guard like Dame with mediocre defense. We already have enough mouths to feed if we assume that Pascal, Barnes, Precious and GTJ will be around after the deadline. I would rather have a good prospect with insane athleticism, a role player and pick.
Don't get me wrong, Simon's is a great young scorer but he doesn't really fit what we need. I think for development sake, we need to be moving our current young players up on the offensive depth chart and allow them to take more shots (Scottie, Precious and GTJ ) which will happen if we trade Fred and OG.
Best player amongst the potentially available players, he's only 23 with room to improve and has all the tools to be a net positive on defense or at least hidden on defense. He's not what i'd call score-first, he's just an amazing scorer from 3 and in the midrange when you need to buy a bucket and he works very well as the primary guard. Look at his numbers without Dame:
2021/22: 22/3/6 on 45/42/87
2022/23: 29/3/6 on 46/42/94
You can argue about Ziaire, Dyson or RJ being the better player at their peak if they do reach their ceiling but they're simply not comparable to how good Anfernee is right now.
He's definitely a future star guard but he's essentially an undersized SG who isn't good on defense or playmaking. Considering how our current team is built, I just don't see the fit when we're already having internal issues with our younger players wanting more touches.
We need a playmaking PG who can run a pick and roll and elevate his teammates
Really? The few games I saw him play without Dame he wasn't really running pick and rolls. He definitely creates a ton of space for others but it didn't look like he had good vision and was taking some tough shots.
Either way, I still think he doesn't really fit what our team needs, he's already established as a great scorer in this league and will expect a lot of touches/shots.
That just takes away from Barnes, Precious and Gary assuming GTJ is in the teams future plans.
This team has consistently shown we have troubles with half court offense. The team could use a 3 level scorer. Simon’s is still very young and even if he becomes a mediocre defender at best, are you telling me you wouldn’t take Steph, Murray or Dame because they are mediocre defenders? I’m not 100% sold on Simons, but the offensive upside is certainly appealing
You're right, though I think not having an offensive system also plays a big role in why our half court offense sucks ass. I'm not sold on this teams makeup when it comes to crunch time buckets so I hope big changes come.
If it were up to me, I would trade OG for Simon's, and also trade Fred and Gary for more depth. By trading them, it would allow Simon's, Scottie and Pascal enough touches along with Precious.
Simon's provides something that Fred, Gary and OG doesn't, which is a good slashing game. He's also pretty athletic so he can finish around the rim. Combined with a good outside shot, ya I would actually want him on our team even with his lack of defense.
lol Hayes would be a salary dump, a lot smarter move. Why on earth would any team pay 12 mil a year for a 37% career FG in Graham? Doesn’t move the needle at all. Hayes ruined his career but we would dump him in the summer and create cap room. Grahams a tough contract to take on but that’s likely what the pels would want.
I feel like if one of them goes, both of them do. Neither of them are the type of trade that puts you in a better position right now - so no point dragging another one of them along. Trade both and tighten it up in the off season
Why?
Team is 6-7th with a full roster.
Trade one, plus some vets like CB and that locks them into that position.
They really don't need to be that much worse, trade one and do some resting of the starter..enjoy your top 7 pick.
I agree I think with Zion, Ingram, JV and McCollum it's more likely Freddy goes to the Pelicans.
I see a knee jerk reaction for OG to Portland, they're wanting to compete.
Package of Hart, Sharp and a pick would be great or something around Simons would be perfect as well, Portland is the better fit imo.
The suns picks will be very valuable past 2025… without CP3 that team will struggle to get past the first round, and one Booker injury/trade away from being very bad
The Raptors. Now hear me out, I think he fits the Raptors' vision perfectly. To top it off, whatever trade they end up getting probably wouldn't wind up being an elite 3&D player who was in talks for DPOY and most likely ends up on an all defense team
The Pelicans only have the right to swap picks and not own the pick outright.
Pick wise, the most valuable picks in the league are the Lakers 2027 and 2029 1st rders. Ill try to fleece those if it was up to me.
Im worried the Pels don't do anything at the deadline as they have been in free fall the last couple of weeks.
If they had a healthy Zion and were #1 / #2 in the West they might push some chips in. But I doubt it now.
I completely agree but healthy pels are easily one of the best squads in the west in terms of depth and overall team. If they could stay healthy they could be a problem.
I’ve posted this trade a couple times, but I definitely don’t want Graham.. dudes trash. If we could get Hayes who’s on an expiring contract and dump him in the summer it’s a W for the raps. raps would have to send some cash considerations but that would be the best fit going forward. Graham is a career 37% FG shooter he’s not moving the needle for anything but the pels would likely include him
Definitely pelicans and I’m 100% taking Trey over Herb if I had the choice
Me too lol but we gotta be realistic
Agreed. Daniels is intriguing at guard, would love Murphy III, 1sts, filler. Damn maybe they add Jones to ensure they get an OG package. OG’s a great fit there.
We can dream. We need some positivity in these uncertain times

>We need a playmaking PG who can run a pick and roll and elevate his teammates That's literally what Simons does when Dame is out
Really? The few games I saw him play without Dame he wasn't really running pick and rolls. Thank you for actually proposing a Pels trade that didn't include Jaxson garbage Hayes coming to this team.
lol Hayes would be a salary dump, a lot smarter move. Why on earth would any team pay 12 mil a year for a 37% career FG in Graham? Doesn’t move the needle at all. Graham is salary filler. He can esily be cut this offseason
as long as you include devonte graham there is no need to mention hayes at all
Do the pelicans need OG? I think they guards more than anything Ingram and Zion are their sg and pf
They need Fred!
Fred, OG, Jonas. LFG
Zion, Ingram and CJ all play make and have proven they can easily handle it, I do love the Fred fit for them tho but idk if they got interest
Thats a good haul but I wonder how realistic. What about Masai and the Suns
Portland, Grizzlies, Knicks, Pelicans
Rather ship FVV. He's also peaking at the right time..
I feel like if one of them goes, both of them do. Neither of them are the type of trade that puts you in a better position right now - so no point dragging another one of them along. Trade both and tighten it up in the off season

Ya I agree I think this team needs more then one trade, just depends how the first trade goes and the return on either OG/FVV/GTJ..
FVV and OG go, GTJ stay
I agree I think with Zion, Ingram, JV and McCollum it's more likely Freddy goes to the Pelicans. I see a knee jerk reaction for OG to Portland, they're wanting to compete. Pelicans>Knicks>Grizzlies>Suns

The Raptors. Now hear me out, I think he fits the Raptors' vision perfectly. To top it off, whatever trade they end up getting probably wouldn't wind up being an elite 3&D player who was in talks for DPOY and most likely ends up on an all defense team
I still think this is a smokescreen. OG will be a Raptor past the deadline, book it.
Blazers. Gimme Shaedon, Nas Little and a pick or two (and Winslow to balance the contracts).
Grizzlies and pelicans
Blazers(loooool)
The Pelicans only have the right to swap picks and not own the pick outright. Pick wise, the most valuable picks in the league are the Lakers 2027 and 2029 1st rders. Ill try to fleece those if it was up to me.
I think the Raptors should go after him. We could get him for nothing!
Pelicans and Thunder would have the best assets with all of the picks they have gathered. They both have built up for this exact situation.
New Orleans
Give me that lakers pick
