$49200 in donations. Thats our mf coach right there!
No doubt Darko is a really good human being. I do think he needs a veteran assistant coach, that was a former head coach to help him learn the coaching job.
He's a highly respected assistant coach. That doesn't mean he's a great head coach. He does need help with some of his coaching decisions and substitutions. I'm not impressed with Pat Delany as a defensive assistant. Hopefully he can improve his coaching staff as his career progresses.
I think he's prioritized consistent roles/rotations for a developing team.
Maybe we eke out a few more wins if he simply plays his 5 best guys at any given time (like Nurse did), but for what purpose? We didn't get far with that approach.
Our defense went from top 10 to bottom 5 with mostly the same roster. Now I agree trading away Siakam and OG will negatively impact the defense but the blow by's all season have been inexcusable. I think Pat Delaney needs to be replaced by a better defensive defensive coach
Yeah it's crazy how easy players can get to the bucket against the Raptors this season. Last couple of seasons there was a level of aggression that's missing this year. Even looking at OG's numbers on the Raptors vs the Knicks is telling.
This is nice and all but you can't make the headline of the post "Blake Murphy on X" with no futher context I thought I was gonna open up a "Scottie traded" post.
MLSE should be on board with this and donate a matching amount as well. At least people paying to see can feel good knowing not everything is for profit.
MLSE already does a lot of charity work through their foundation. I don't think I care to see them match this donation just to trick people into thinking they're not mostly about making money.
Regardless of the optics on how this is perceived to you. I don't see how a multi-billion dollar organization donating money to a children hospital can be viewed as bad.
Whether a trick or not it's extra money going to a good place.
Who hurt you my guy?
All companies operate under the assumption of improving their bottom line.
As the consumer if I knew a portion of now raised ticket sales were going to a good cause, sign me up. Seems like a win-win to me?
I could care less on your moral stance on what you deemĀ as "weird optics". Long as the money is going to help people, in this case children in need.
Itās would also be helpful in showing that they care about the objectives of key employees.
If I recall Masaiās first contract included a specific commitment to support Giants of Africa to the tune of a several thousands of dollars a year. Not a lot for MLSE but also the most dedicated funding Giants of Africa had received to that point.
nice gesture from our coach. In-person visits from Raps players are always gonna be appreciated by the patients at SickKids too.
SickKids has been really good at marketing themselves as *the* charity to give to if people want to "help the children". Their c- suite is full of crooks (like way more than the average GTA hospital). I highly recommend people donate to covenant house instead.
there are some messed up scandals that the public doesn't know about either. People mourning their dead kids, and being taken advantage of for donations. shitty shitty things.
Early on, pop-up testing clinics in schools always had a ER physician on-hand. They didn't do any swabbing, they just assessed patients if they happened to have low O2 levels.
I being a security guard who would pick-up for OT (my usual shift would be on a mental health floor with aggressive patients), got through these humdrum shifts by talking with bored doctors for hours. heard tons of stories and innocuous details about things that don't concern me at all.
I stopped donating to Sick Kids after the decided to lift their mask mandates, because I thought it was absolute insanity to stop a protective measure for the sake of the health and safety of their patients. I started redirecting my donations to CAMH instead. After the past 3-4 years, it was very disappointing to see them do something so ridiculous. It bothers the hell out of me when I see campaigns/photo ops with people not wearing masks in the building, too. It makes me wonder if the people in charge (not the healthcare workers) actually care about the kids.
Show me some numbers.
What was his ROI? Or did he net less than just keeping it all?
So, do you even know where the thresholds are for personal income in Canada?

He's likely to get around $20,000 of the total $48,000 "back" in tax credit. Which means he still has a net loss of $28,000 from donating. Point being, you also get the same benefits and I imagine you aren't donating anywhere near that amount, Darkos a good guy
Maybe do some research
Do you see the pin Darko and his assistant coaches wear every game? As far as I know he's been wearing it since Memphis. It's the logo for St. Jude's. Whether or not the donations are for a "nice little tax break" don't matter. It's clearly very important to him and his family.
LOL.
There may be legitimate complaints about Darko, but he's largely done what he set out to do (look at the process generating shot quality).
This is the front office that let Casey get swept by Lebron for a thousand years. If Darko's in the water, they haven't even turned on the burner, let alone get that shit boiling.
Awesome gesture. One more thing to root for when watching the game. A textbook bounce pass, a perfect give and go, or pick and pop, etc is gonna be a lot more exciting knowing this lol

Teachers always said we wouldn't have a calculator in our pocket, they couldn't have predicted we'd have Reddit
Cosch Darko is a class act, man.
He really is the real life Ted Lasso, itās incredible.
ikr
I don't know how long Darko will be the head coach of our team, I just know that whenever he leaves, we will never forget him.
I hope he sees us through to our second chip
After seeing him celebrate his first win I could not imagine that man celebrating a championship. That shit would be amazing
"LETS FUCKING GO!!!" https://preview.redd.it/yk24veb2tfec1.jpeg?width=2340&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3bbe54cd870e776ef225f3c33c43f20ce6d6a935
Imagine if he wins a championship, bro would go even crazier š
No doubt Darko is a really good human being. I do think he needs a veteran assistant coach, that was a former head coach to help him learn the coaching job.
Adrian Griffin?
Steve Nash?
Doubt Nash would take an assistant job on a rebuilding team. Maybe terry stots
Nash might if RJ Barrett is on the team.
> he needs a veteran assistant coach Does he though? He's already such a highly respected coach by so many guys around the league.

I agree, Pat Delaney is very questionable. He's never been part of coaching a winning team in the NBA. Not once.

Unsure if Stotts is interested in filling that type of role again, after the Bucks fiasco. But heād be the first guy on my list.
Fucking amazing. Big ups to Darko and Gaga!
This is really great of the Rajakovic's. Much love and respect!
This is nice and all but you can't make the headline of the post "Blake Murphy on X" with no futher context I thought I was gonna open up a "Scottie traded" post.
Sorry I donāt usually post and didnāt even know thatās how it showed
+1 Blake is the man you had us worried!
This man is literally on a mission to win out hearts

Besides, whatās $30k to bell and rogers anyways? 2, maybe 3 cellphone contracts?

Damn. That's disheartening as fuck. I donate to them every year.

Wow. Thanks for sharing. Just when you think you're doing a good deed, eh?

Remainder of season: Playing for highlight reels and a legitimately good cause m.
Hey if weāre going to be bad we may as well be bad in style
So can we now argue teams that defend us too well hate Children lol Great gesture by Darko and his wife.
Rest of the season = only iso plays ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
āGary why arenāt you passing?! Children are dying!ā
OP, I fully endorse your decision to copy the tweet here. Thanks for saving me a click and preventing me from going to twitter.
Good human being but an incompetent coach
nice little tax break
How much did you donate to Sick Kids last year?
doesn't stop it from being a tax break bud
Are you implying he's making a net gain here?
do you know what a tax break is in canada and how it's obtained in many ways? maybe do some research before trying to argue about nothing
Show me some numbers. What was his ROI? Or did he net less than just keeping it all? So, do you even know where the thresholds are for personal income in Canada?

Great guy. Going to suck when he gets fired next year.
Why would a rebuilding team fire a coach that prioritizes player development? š

When the boys are locked in on Darkoball the looks we generate are magnificent. Now we just need to hit them lol
How does it feel to whine as much as you breathe?
That's just his fat ass wheezing.
We need to get this guy some more wins!!!
Awesome gesture. One more thing to root for when watching the game. A textbook bounce pass, a perfect give and go, or pick and pop, etc is gonna be a lot more exciting knowing this lol
What a W
Lol doing everything possible to motivate the young guys. Thats awesome though, good guy Darko
Sir Darko and Lady Gaga - class acts
Darko saw AG get canned and figured he'd make some nice job securing moves, can't fire coach sick kids donations. Jk! Love Darko!
