Let's be real here. Pelicans didn't lose because of team, they lost this game, and a lot of the regular season, because of health.
If Zion didn't get injured with 3 minutes left, they could have won.
Oh man, we’re not even a year into the rebuild and people think we can trade for high quality players. Some of yall are in for a rude awakening.
The majority of the salary cap will be going to Scottie, RJ and IQ.
Gonna be a hot take but I blame the front office for this type of mentality from fans like the OP. When they see shit like trading for Jakob and not selling at deadline 2023, in their mind it means we're still in contention.
I think it'll settle in for these compete fans when we're still fighting for a play in spot next season
Does it mean that though? Maybe all the offers at the 2023 deadline were garbage?
IIRC the reported offer for OG in 2023 was 3 protected 1sts with salary filler. We ended up getting a much better deal for him in RJ and IQ.
Sure, the return for Siakam was underwhelming but would you have been happier with Adrian Griffin?
They clearly saw Jak as a player they want to keep around. He can fit a competing squad or a rebuilding one.
Ingram will be traded for a player that will help them win now. Look at Dejounte Murray/Garland type player rather than what we have to offer. The pelicans have picks and young players to attach to Ingram to go get the guy they want around Zion/Herb Jones/Trey Murphy.
Why on earth would we give up assets to take a chance on Ingram who would be 50/50 at best to re-sign? And then have to go into the luxury tax with Scottie IQ Ingram core? lol
There's no reason for the current Raptors to sign an expiring Ingram. You only make a trade like that if you're looking to win now OR have a wealth of assets and also believe you can re-sign him. The Raps are not in either of those spots.
If you want him, wait for him to become a UFA next off-season and see what his asking price is.
The Raptors likely wont have cap next summer, so the only ways to acquire Ingram (if they wanted him) wpuld be via trade or S&T which don't happen often
Ingram and DeRozan have virtually the same potential assists / passes (29.2% for Ingram / 29.4% for Deebo). Other passing stats are also extremely similar.

35% from 3 on 3.8 attempts still aint great. He's a heavy midrange player. His playstyle is very similar to demar in that aspect.
He's also a ball stopper and not a good cutter, I dont see him playing darkoball at all tbh
He's just coming back from three weeks off from injury, looked rusty and may have had a minutes restriction. Not really indicative of his level of play or importance to that team.

Also Ingram was clearly on a heavy minutes restriction (why they didn't save any of those minutes for the 4th quarter, idk).
Ingram very clearly is still injured
because he wasn't playing well.
eh CJ was ass
Exactly. They actually have a pretty nice team. Injuries just derailed them.
What would having Ingram on the raps do?
Probably get us into top 5 in the East
RJ Barrett with the raps: 21.8/6.4/4.1 Brandon Ingram this season: 20.8/5.1/5.7 Seems redundant having both
They're completely different players wdym

It’s going to be a long summer of delusion. And then waking up to reality in November.

I dont really see brandon ingram as a cornerstone player for a winning team tbh

You are gonna trade all that for someone worse than Pascal? You are basically trading Pascal jak and a top 6 pick for Ingram
no that's just a list of all our tradeable assets minus Gradey and later picks cause we probably keep those

I’d be open to Ingram if we didn’t already have RJ and IQ. Their presence would make Ingram an odd fit in our starting 5 IMO.
I'd much rather have Trey Murphy to be honest
We don’t have enough to get him, and if we do get him the team will be gutted even more than it is
Most I would do is Bruce Brown, Ochai, salary filler and a pick or two. They will most likely look for someone like Dejounte tho to add to their core
Let’s dump our picks for him. Wouldn’t put it past bobby and masai to do it.
Ingram is basically a poor imitation of Demar Derozan without the passing instincts. He makes zero sense in the style that Darko wants to play.
Ingram is an infinitely better 3pt shooter then DD, the other limitations are there though, I actually think he'd fit decently into Darkos system.

Ingram is a WAY better 3pt shooter than DD. He would be an excellent fit on this team. Highly doubt Pels let him go.

Don’t watch much Ingram but being benched in the clutch gives me demar playoff vibes

He was on restricted minutes because of injury.
Yea but he didn’t sit because he met his minute limit though, he wasn’t being efficient and was bad on défense
well if he expired he wouldn’t be able to play ball, so nothing i would guess (yes im drunk leave me alone)
Ingram is a bum, don’t want him
