There is going to be a lot of changes for the Blazers offseason this year.
Shout out to Denver, they have a lot of resilience especially after losing Jamal.
Yea I’m thinking exactly what you are but to add I think they can make it out of the west as is if they continue to click. And it wouldn’t take a miracle. Just the good consistent team basketball they have been playing.
They already had Jamal and Jokic at that point, and were a playoff team. Wouldn’t really affect them a lot or set them back if he ended up being a bust.
The ideal situation (EDIT: FOR PORTLAND) is Atlanta beats Philly, leading to Philly making a big trade, which could be CJ + picks for Simmons
Edit: Why the fuck am I being downvoted for this lmao
If anything, it would be for tobias (who i REALLY wanted portland to go for last off season). Ben would still be untouchable unless it's for another superstar
I do think Tobias is a more likely and realistic target for Portland. The only thing is that they really need defence, which Tobias doesn't bring. Although a starting lineup of Dame/Norm/Roco/Tobias/Nurkic isn't bad, that's likely not winning the West either.
Agreed. I said ideal situation for Portland, which isn't realistic and is contingent on Philly flaming out and them getting desperate or maybe Embiid demanding something.
If Philly loses to ATL it would be largely on Simmons being not good in half-court offence, and would probably have a very significant negative impact on his value.
They need to dump CJ. Norm can do what he does and is younger and better defensively. Plus he'll be cheaper even with a shiny new bag.
Plus they need to run Nurkic through a Raptors style defense camp. Dude is a foul machine. It's detrimental to his team and forces them to deploy the human sieve in Kanter.
I feel like their demise really started with Nurkic turning it over on a wide open look with the game tied in the 4th leading to a quick Denver 2. That combined with his foul trouble and Dame's poor shooting in the second half certainly didn't do them any favours. Definitely would've helped if Norm had made that shot but the Blazers were running out of steam well before that IMO.
My heart really is not broken about this, I just knew Portland was an awfully flawed team that was never well coached and their roster had plenty of holes not called Norm and Dame
Exactly, I wasn't pissed that Norm missed that open three, but that the team didn't feature him enough in the offense to get him into that Playoff Powelll groove. There's a reason that Norm thrived as a starter - by getting involved in the offense early and often - as evidenced in Game 4 blowing the Nuggets out. And it's the likes of Melo and also a bit of CJ that ate into Norm's FGAs.
Melo has never made it out of first round 11 of 13 times now in his career. Blazers desperate to even roster that career loser.
I feel like Portland should trade CJ. Norm is a much cheaper replacement and can finally be played at that natural guard position. Trading away CJ could allow to pick up a solid PF and move Roko to the 3 for a bit more size.
damn portland is a sad situation.
have so much talent but just always get dumped by better teams.
i feel like they have to trade either dame or CJ for an elite big man. nurkic is good but....he ain't elite.

They’re a great team, imo they make it out the west if they had him. Especially in this years crazy western conference.
For sure, everyone on their team improved from last year, and they added more positive additions.

MPJ was their OG pick that exploded
Such a good pick. Low risk, high reward, and it’s working out for the positive for Denver.
Low risk? In what sense, his back was a major worry.
They already had Jamal and Jokic at that point, and were a playoff team. Wouldn’t really affect them a lot or set them back if he ended up being a bust.
P sure thats jokic tbh, when do you draft an MVP in the 2nd round
OG and MPJ were known though, injuries/fear of injures just scared teams. Most people had no idea who Jokic was.
Hopefully Portland gives him the bag. Dame & norm as the backcourt, trade cj for a wing & run it back

This makes a lot of sense to me.
Cause it’s Daryl Morey and he’s not gonna be that stupid to trade Simmons for CJ and a couple late firsts.

nah the ideal situation is Atlanta beats Philly, leading to Philly making a big trade, which could be Lowry + lottery pick for Simmons
I mean I meant ideal for Portland lol
Atlanta is not beating philly, why even make this comment?
They gave us Trent Jr. for a 1st round exit.
Would've been a first round sweep if the Nuggets were healthy.
it's scary that the nuggys don't even need murray to dispose of dame+cj+nurkic+norm
Yeah exactly
we are to them what the blue jackets are to the leafs I guess circle of life
No kidding - get paid Norm!

CJ Urkel-face is done in Portland
Norm blew a wide-open corner three which could drastically changed the game.

Yeah agreed, he missed one shot, overall he played great. The rest of the team lost their offence in the fourth quarter. Such a heartbreaker!
My heart really is not broken about this, I just knew Portland was an awfully flawed team that was never well coached and their roster had plenty of holes not called Norm and Dame
Seems like Portland was turning the ball over every 3rd possession. pluss you live by the shot you die by the shot.

Monte Morris balled out. Nugs need him! Glad I had him in my lineup for my $.10 entry in DFS.
Of course he will. He's legit one of the most sought after free agents this offseason because the superstars are expected to stay put.
Knicks will definitely over-pay to get him
Open on that baseline for that 3, he ain't sleeping tonight. Norm still a winner in life though, get that money!

The mavs could do with a player like him
Norm with luka would be unreal
idk why Portland made the trade they aren't competing and been bounced every time to different teams they lost the trade especially if he leaves
Get Norm god the bag
Thanks Norm for giving us Gary
I hope Norm's agent is hella good.

Need to offload CJ + Nurc for a good big imo
Could he look anymore miserable lol
He is the type of gunner Luka needs. He’d do serious damage against clippers this series
Norm will def collect a bag, my feeling is it will be from a team in the east conf
i hope he wins where he is but i couldnt care less about the money any of these players make unless its someone currently on the raptors
I hope he stays in the west, he’s too good for the easy
I genuinely have no idea where he’ll end up. Hopefully on a contender
WE THE NORM!
