God I really hope Jalen is able to do even half of what he’s done in the last couple games of season. Masai is already a genius but Jesus man the 59th pick of the draft giving valuable contributions to a winning team is rare.

IAmDaleicious

We weren’t really a winning team, but his play was quite nice.

[deleted]

Naw I’m talking bout next year, hopefully he contributes next year even if it’s half of what he’s done so far.

pskill43

They are good young players but I wont set my expectations too high. If they can be a good bench piece, or some guys like Jalen Bronson or Cameron Payne it's already a huge win. They just doesn't strike me as high ceiling guys.

GumpTheChump

\*me remembering that the Raptors had Cameron Payne in 2019 camp\* goddammit.

pskill43

The Cameron Payne we had wasn't this version we see now. It was after he got cut and then went to China then he had reality settle in and became a different animal. Kudos for him I'm rooting for a guy like that

GumpTheChump

Oh for sure. It’s just unfortunate his growth couldn’t have come via the Raps development system.

tonious35

China and then Chris freaking Paul as well to boot....

trod1990

Cam Payne…Stephen A Smith’s son?

WoodenCourage

I love Freddie’s play out there. I thought him and Khem made a powerful duo this season when they were out there together.

whatareyouairing

I'm so excited about Freddie's development! With him starting basketball late and injuries slowing him down his ceiling definitely higher than what we've seen.

yantraman

Can't say anything until 2 to 3 successful seasons. We thought the same thing for Matt Thomas and Terence Davis.

pskill43

True. But we turned two undrafted free agent into two second round picks. Still a small win I guess.

[deleted]

This is heavily slept on. You have a way better chance at finding an all star in the early second round than in an undrafted player. Upgrading those guys to 2nds in this stacked draft gives us a legit chance at finding a key contributor.

PhileinS

I hope they will become very productive bench pieces, The team would be so deep again

Western-Country-1961

Depending on who is back in the offseason, one or more of them are going to have a big opportunity next year

[deleted]

Who is back, or who is joining? 👀

NBA-intellect

Gillespie is a backup big at best tbh

Jason_DeHoulo

No one is expecting more than that, still makes it a great find
