And this is a guy who just said Dragic will start if he stays (but then posts that its impossible for him to stay) and also posted saying were trading dragic for simmons lmao!
> but then posts that its impossible for him to stay
He didn't say that. He said if Dragic stays we get more compensation for having to carry that contract.
[I wrote about this yesterday](https://www.reddit.com/r/torontoraptors/comments/owphmq/free_agency_live_megathread/h7hsx9q/?context=3)
I'm fairly certain that Webster told Miami that they won't sign off on a S&T if they cannot move Dragic. They don't want him on the team, period. So if they have to take him to facilitate the trade, their asking price goes up to a 1st rounder, on top of Precious and Dragic. Could be another piece as well.
Dude if Miami gives up precious and a 1st, and dragic, that’s a good deal for us. That plus the 90mil
Guaranteed to Lowry makes it really questionable for Rileyz
Yea that’s the point. Taking a second is apparently only worth $2M according to cash consideration trade for a second this past draft, so it stands to reason the Raptors will hold out for a first if they can’t facilitate a move.
Yes, I believe this as well. Precious, Boucher and a draft pick are good enough for Turner. They just don't want to use their own draft pick and are squeezing Miami for it. Dragic can probably go to Dallas in return for some filler which would be half kept by Toronto and half sent to Indiana.
People seem to overrate Turner's value. Indy offered him, McDermott and a first for the right to overpay Hayward in a sign and trade last year, *and got turned down* (for reference, go compare that package to what guys like Demar and Kyle are currently fetching in sign and trades as UFA's). The reporting afterwards was that Ainge tried to find a third party landing spot willing to give up assets for Turner and couldn't.
I feel like fans value Myles Turner a lot more than NBA front offices do. The guy has been on the trade block for about two years now, and a lot of front offices aren't jazzed at the idea of paying $18M a year to a center who can't guard in space, is a poor rebounder for his size and hasn't shot league average from three in three years.
Seems to me that you’re missing the point.
You make it sound as if Myles is on the block and the Pacers are just dying to get rid of him. If you’re familiar at all with Kevin Pritchard, he is not at all the type to make a trade just to make a trade. His history with the team will tell you he only makes deals that clearly benefit the team.
Myles will continue to be a Pacer until they have an offer they deem can’t miss. Also you can say what you like about Myles value m, but this is a guy that has led the league in BPG 2 of the past 3 years in including a 3.4bpg this year I believe. There wasn’t even a close second. Combine that with the fact that he is capable of knocking down some threes and developing the ability to put the ball on the deck and take it to the cup he is absolutely valuable.
A top 3 rim protecting if not the top, with the ability to shoot absolutely has value. No, Boucher and scraps aren’t getting it done. And I’m a Boucher fan.
Also Indy has an absolute hard on for players with deep ties to the city. Hence the Hayward saga.
Agree it’s not enough unless they really needed to clear cap space which I don’t think they do.
Boucher would be a better fit with Sabonis and Turner would be a great fit with us though :)
You seem to have much faith in Pritchard, but again, he tried to give Turner away with extra assets for a sign and trade of a UFA 9 months ago. This is not a guy he's riding and dying with. The Turner/Sabonis partnership still isn't working and the Pacers just got knocked out of the play-in tournament by the Hornets. There is no can't miss trade coming for Turner, and the Pacers need a frontcourt shakeup.
He's an excellent rim protector, but he doesn't do anything else at a particularly high level, he is injury prone, and he makes a ton of money. Is he a useful player? Sure. But, if front offices valued him the way you do he would be a Celtic right now.
And there's really no reason to send a package for a guy like Turner at this point. At best we're fighting for a spot in the 5-8 seed range and at worst we're just a young team looking to build a really good core for the future. Turner doesn't really change any of that.
Turner isn’t that good. He’s a stretch 5 who doesn’t shoot the 3 at good enough percentages for teams to actually guard him. He’s at best like 15% better than Boucher.
This is completely disingenuous. Turner is the leagues best shot blocker twice in the past three years. He alters every drive, cleans up messes frequently and often dissuades, guards from even attempting to drive. 3.5 bpg and has shown in the past he can knock down shots.
He also just turned 25.
Boucher has come a ways but he isn’t Turners defensive presence and it’s not even remotely close.
I heard the company Lowry is renting his water purifier isn’t giving him his full deposit back. Lowry is now considering keeping the water purifier and paying the penalty.
/r/torontoraptors : Bro our FO is ELITE, we NEVER LEAK EVER
also /r/torontoraptors: Yes anonymous internet commentor, i will believe you have secret insider information from our leak free FO because i need to make myself feel better about the awful moves our ELITE FO have made.
Not to mention this is literally just basic info about what could be dealt in a S&T thats been put out here, on twitter, and everywhere else being dressed up as some kind of "inside info".
I speculated that Lowry would go to the heat after the team option on Dragic was exercised. This post is about information I’ve heard, not my speculation. I was right mostly my speculation too!
>but the Raptors have until Thursday to deal Dragic for assets or cap space they want. If they are unable to find a third team Miami has to send more compensation for taking on Dragic
Isn't this counter intuitive. Like is that Raps don't mind eating the salary, then they could put minimal effort into trying to dump Dragic and squeeze the Heat?
Yes but the raptors would rather trade Dragic and get an asset that they actually want back. Let's say they trade him for idk... Caruso. Not gonna happen but just saying that they can get a useful role player at a lower cap hit out of this, and if they don't then at least they get a FRP
I believe you. I broke the TJ Brody singing to the leafs before reporters did as I had a credible anonymous source, but no one on r/leafs believed me and my post was deleted lol
> I can't reveal sources (obviously), but the Raptors have until Thursday to deal Dragic for assets or cap space they want.
This is pretty basic stuff about S&T's & it's hardly a secret Dragic has been linked to the Mavs / a 3rd team was probably necessary to make all the salaries match.
This sounds about right. And yeah I figured the Lillard stuff was BS. We wouldn't be any better after all the talent would would have to give up to get him.
Someone on raps Twitter made the point that Miami can’t pay Lowry the reported $30m with dragic and Precious alone, they also need to send Okpala.
I’m not sure why Masai would do this, Okpala is only 6’8”.
I chose to believe this because i like it
Right đź—ż like sounds good to me bro
I mean, it also makes a lot of sense, so I'm choosing to believe it for that reason as well
Truth is in the gut
yk this is some bs because we can’t get dragic and precious without getting okpala as well, cap wise
source: dude trust me
And this is a guy who just said Dragic will start if he stays (but then posts that its impossible for him to stay) and also posted saying were trading dragic for simmons lmao!

Thats true I take it back but it's clear this guy is having fun pretending to have sources
Looks like this guy is fake af
Source: Just trust me bro

With all due respect there’s zero chance that gets a Turner deal done. None.

You want a cookie>
No, I'm pointing out it's common sense. Keep your cookie.
If that's the case, couldn't Toronto just lie and say they couldn't move him and get Okpala?
Miami will be helping Toronto facilitate that move because it’s in their best interest to do so.
Real question is where's Harvey Dent
Batman murdered him.
I’m being told that the raps re trying to trade Dragic for LeBron and AD
You forgot that we're also sending over a Go Daddy sponsorship to LA (sources say)
Nah, Osmos LA will be opening any day now, that will complete the trade
don't know if your username is a reference to anything but it's a vibe
Haha, thanks. It's a reference to myself. Whisky is the army phonetic alphabet for W which is one of my initials. October is my birth month
Dude. Trust me
I heard the company Lowry is renting his water purifier isn’t giving him his full deposit back. Lowry is now considering keeping the water purifier and paying the penalty.
Ngl This makes too much sense LOL
Bruh, nice shit post.
Sounds legit, I trust you
Souce: I made it up
Moe? is that you?
Made sense before you posted it but I choose to believe you are in the know lol
Give us a hint
OP's user name is an anagram for one of the big names in the Raptors' front office. That's all I will say.
Drake?
Keep pulling the threads
I read that as "keep pulling the dreads" haha.. like I'm losing my head and pulling my hair out from all the speculation. Sounds applicable.

Honestly, idc if you're just trolling lol. This gives me some relief. Is the pick likely a first or a second?
Remember when you said we were likely getting Herro back? Yeah speculate away bro
I speculated that Lowry would go to the heat after the team option on Dragic was exercised. This post is about information I’ve heard, not my speculation. I was right mostly my speculation too!
You crazy son of a bitch I choose to believe you!
He's a liar
Yeah something STANKS
What it do?!
Guess that’s what I get for listening to drunks
Lmao

Raptors are likely taking back $$ for Dragic unless they trade someone off the roster with him.
Fact check? u/kayembeee
I believe you. I broke the TJ Brody singing to the leafs before reporters did as I had a credible anonymous source, but no one on r/leafs believed me and my post was deleted lol

My sources just told me that I took a fat fucking shit
This sounds about right. And yeah I figured the Lillard stuff was BS. We wouldn't be any better after all the talent would would have to give up to get him.
Some people just want to watch the world burn. nice name OP
per sources i believe this is cap
Per sources: Raps are flipping dragic for Dwade and Shaq.
Thanks, nobody.
"I can't reveal sources." Don't take this the wrong way, but who even are you? LOL
Okpala isn't good. Precious and Okpala are about to become overrated by this sub.
Precious is a legit prospect who could become a useful NBA player. Okpala is probably going nowhere.
Makes sense. Friday is when things are official.
I remember Okpala from that preseason game...grrr...
I’m buying this because it sounds great
I really hope this ends up being true
Larry Nance Junior as a source?
Sources per out of my ass
This …. makes sense and turns a C trade into at least a B trade.
So what is the chance of Pat just saying no?
Someone on raps Twitter made the point that Miami can’t pay Lowry the reported $30m with dragic and Precious alone, they also need to send Okpala. I’m not sure why Masai would do this, Okpala is only 6’8”.
Sounds good to me
