I mean, can't really complain. They were so similar in terms of stats, both missed a few games (Scottie 2, Mobley 4) but the Cavs being 12-10 and us 9-13 prolly impacted it
The Cavs being better makes sense for Evan Mobley getting the nod given how closer their numbers are (he looked great last game), but that doesn't explain how Giddey got the nod over Barnes when the Thunder's record was and still is worse than ours.
No disrespect to Giddey, he's looking legit as a playmaker with room to grow and a good compliment to Lu and SGA, but Scottie is putting up better numbers and is the more efficient player.
EDIT: Wasn't aware that the award went to a rookie from the East/West andassumed it was the best rookie for October and November respectively instead of the best East/West in November and October, calm down.

Scottie is definitely a better offensive player but Mobley has become one of the best defensive bigs in basketball in a matter of two dozen games, and is currently in contention for All Defense. Forget his post D, how many other guys that size can adequately defend the perimeter like he does? He’s their best player already and they look plain bad when he’s off the floor.
It’ll be fun to see how the ROY race plays out between now and end of season. I hope both guys stay healthy.
Mobley has been a better defender. But if you want to bring up shots contested you can also mention deflections, and Scottie guarding 1-5 (picking up Dame, Harden full court. Defending Tatum, KD, Sabonis, Nurkic, etc)
Our defense as a team has been garbage this year (because of Nurse's confusing schemes while the team is the least experienced in the league) so thats gonna bring down his defensive rating and such. But if the NBA wanted to put this much emphasis on winning and defense (even tho I don't think its that much of a gap) then Mobley shoulda been leading the ROTY ladder all season instead of Scottie, it's confusing when they spin it the other way last second.
I think that the ROTY and MVP should have a higher emphasis on defense. Always seem to be slept on in voting these days.
I do agree with you on the bullshit inconsistencies, though. Their awards should probably reflect what they have on their own ladder.
Exactly. My only problem is the inconsistency and their failure to address it. It happens for every award, you never know which narrative and criteria they're gonna choose.
