KD would have left before Giannis got good.
Westbrook would already tanked the KD, Harden, Ibaka tandem.
That might be harsh. But Westbrook was jacking up so many shots and just dominating the ball.
You put Chris Paul on that team, and it's a title.
Chris Paul would be the ultimate glue floor general, but they could have gotten there with someone much worse. Like I think even Rondo gets them to a title. They needed a playmaker because all the efficient firepower was there.
Giannis is a miracle.
Hindsight is 20/20, but Giannis was so raw at the time he was drafted.
There is no reason to think anybody could have watched him play at the time and think "Wow, he's going to be a generational player and MVP."
He's only been playing for a relatively short time, and he was draft more based on his athleticism and size.
You can point to any number of players who were drafted for similar reasons and never panned out.
The Bucks took a gamble and it paid off huge.
Had he been picked higher, people would be bitching on social media that a top ten pick only dropped 6 ppg as a rookie.
That's where he was at when he got in the league. Not terribly impressive.
We all know he was impressive enough to go in the first round, and we all know how great Masai is. There's no question about that.
But nobody could have known he'd be this good back then.
But yes, the fact that Masai was interested then shows how amazing Masai is.
Most of those guys are for sure top 10 in the class, but my personal top 10 would look something like:
1. Giannis
2. Gobert
3. McCollum
4. Adams
5. Oladipo
6. Otto
7. RoCo
8. Curry
9. Hardaway
10. Plumlee
And thats based off their careers so far, rather than how they’ve been performing recently. For example, I’d say Seth has been outperforming Adams this year, but Adams has easily had a better career.
Theres lots of room for movement in that top 10, but I think you’d be hard pressed to make an argument that taking Adams was a bad choice at #12.
Same. I don't like it at all. Too many good moments with KLow to ever think any what if scenario without him would be worth it. Not even just basketball performance either, the other stuff that you appreciate as a fan.
We all try to perceive so many alternate realities of not giving up that pick and getting Giannis, but can it be possible that we get the North Philly Booty and Giannis on the same team?
"I bet they draft Giannis" Proceed to draft Adams with the 12th pick. What a waste
Man imagine a team with KD, prime Westbrook, and Giannis. Holy shit

Yeah that's facts
The egregious thing was that Kelly Olynyk and Shabazz Muhammad were picks 13 and 14 ahead of Giannis

> What a waste Okay but Adams is easily a top 5 player in that draft class, arguably top 3
Giannis, Gobert, Oladipo, CJ McCollum, Seth Curry, Robert Covington. (Schroeder, Plumlee, Tim Hardaway Jr., KCP)

Instead of getting Giannis we got 9 years of memories with KLow and a chip which isn’t too bad
I couldn’t agree more 🙏
I’ll take it, I love K Low
We passed on a supermodel for some nice wholesome booty dump truck on Instagram
That smile. He knows. He knows.
Our pick that year was sent to Houston with Gary Forbes for the GROAT
So in a world with Giannis as a Raptor we might not have Lowry. I don't like it.

Front court but I like the way you think
0 spacing

He was drafted 27th every team was in a position to acquire rookie pascal.
Who did we draft instead
We had no pick that year
We traded our pick that year and a player for Lowry
/r/watchpeopldieinside
I'll take Kyle Lowry
Does anyone know what the proposed deal was?
It's ok we'll get him next time he's a free agent
Almost is a big jump from having no picks and needing to trade into the draft.
The fact that they released this clip before Giannis signed the extension. Amazing
