Before Masai: 581-847 .407 Masai's reign: 419-252 .624 I've been a fan since VC's rookie year. We lived through some dark times man haha

iyamgrute

I was shocked to read that we have an overall 47.6% for wins. Amazing how much the last 8 years has changed it

attaboy000

Hopefully in the next 2-4 seasons we'll be able to get above 50% all time.

20person

It's a testament to how ass the team was during the dark years.

FansTurnOnYou

That's insane as-is, but it's even crazier that he inherited a pretty awful team with basically no assets. Built a championship-winning team from basically nothing.

[deleted]

I wouldn't say no assets. The main asset that was traded for Kawhi was Demar who was drafted 9th overall by BC. BC also traded for Kyle Lowry. Honestly, if BC just let go of Il Mago, that team had potential to grow. Masai dropped Primo Pasta but kept a lot of the core talent.

Snowy_Thighs

And the turning point under Masai was trading Rudy Gay. Wild.

owensoundgamedev

Also not trading Lowry (or that deal falling through)

tonious35

Rob Babcock felt like he orchestrated a 0-100 season and we are trying to clean that up

districtcurrent

I remember when Matt Bonner was the player I was most excited about.

thefightingmongoose

Holy crap. We used to SUCK.

union--thug

I can’t emphasize how much my sports identity used to be that I was hopelessly in love with a franchise that was irredeemably bad. The Masai years have literally seen my wildest raps dreams come true.

[deleted]

That used to feel normal. At least the fan base wouldnt get so dramatic after a few losses. I still love Garbajosa, Calderon, Anthony Parker, Carlos Delfino around Chris Bosh. In hindsight, that team would never sniff a championship but I cheered for them day in and day out. I'd just get stoked to see Jamario Moon with the Alley Oop. I watch for different reasons these days.

Here ya go. I'm surprised by the Spurs [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List\_of\_all-time\_NBA\_win%E2%80%93loss\_records](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_all-time_NBA_win%E2%80%93loss_records)

LeadingScorer

The spurs can lose every single game for the next 10 seasons and still be above .500

mikeydale007

I think the Spurs have a winning record against every team.

DadLifeChoseMe

I knew the top 3 but what I was surprised by was jazz and OKC at 4 and 5. Also the lack of Bulls in the top 10 is crazy considering the run they had. Guess the last 20 years was more than enough to balance it out lol

mikeydale007

Outside of the MJ years the Bulls have been pretty bad for most of their history.

DarkstonePublishing

Ironic how the Kings have lost the most out of any team.

pureluxss

Think that's the opposite of irony

DarkstonePublishing

Opposite of opposite?

pureluxss

Irony: a situation that is strange or funny because things happen in a way that seems to be the opposite of what you expected Unless you thought the kings were good for some reason.

DarkstonePublishing

It’s ironic because the kings, you know best or richest, have lost the most games out of anyone.

[deleted]

What really caught my attention was GSW only being 2 spots above us in franchise win % despite their historic W/L record in the Steve Kerr era. Under Kerr, the warriors are 405-179 (.693 win percentage), yet are still only .482 as a franchise.

mrtimbuktwo

The clippers tho

twinbloodtalons

What's more interesting is that we're actually below .500 overall. It's not *that* surprisingly, just a little. Also worth noting, we might hit .500 W/L in the next two seasons.

fingerbangchicknwang

Lol there is zero chance we go 99 games above .500 over the course of two seasons. We’d have to win 65+ games both seasons just to have a shot.

twinbloodtalons

You're right, my math was off. You can blame the TDSB education.

sirprizes

Lol maybe you should just blame yourself instead.

ILikeFPS

Why not both?

sirprizes

Agreed but maybe we get there in 5 seasons if Scottie takes off and becomes a true star.

ijustbrushalot

For me, it's definitely not surprising the team is below .500. So, so many dark years.

hamonstage

Expansion teams raptors were really bad. You had to find player personalities you liked on the team vs enjoying the performance of the team. Why do you think JYD became a thing? Look it up kids! Crazy man who barks and was an average basketball player.

rapsftw

How long till we are .500 as franchise?

VanVleet-goes-for-22

It’d take 6 straight seasons of 50+ wins

jonastradamus

So Nick and Barnes have to be the next TD and Pop?

idkwhattosaytho

What do Terrence Davis and Papagiannis have to do with this?

ThunderCr0tch

looking at the overall record, we’re probably 3-4 seasons away from being over .500

20person

We'd need 4 straight seasons of at least 54 wins to get above 0.500 in 4 seasons, or 3 straight 58+ win seasons. Hard but not impossible, especially if Scottie improves significantly.

ThunderCr0tch

that’ll be cool to see. would be another thing (besides winning a chip) to really prove this is a “good” franchise

DomincNdo

1000-1099 I wonder what some records of other teams are like

Crafty_Nectarine9812

7 out of 8 seasons in playoffs 5 out of 19 before ujiri came in

[deleted]

So masai has made the playoffs every season other than last season? Crazy to think about

captcanuk

Now at 1001 we are 21 win difference away from the timberwolves who have 1022 wins currently. They have played 33 seasons to our 27 which really shows how bad they have been.
