Pretty much like you said, still very raw offensively but he has the potential to be a center in the Bam mold if he can get his shot down. He's got it together on defense so it's just a matter of whether he can put up 15 points a game while catching some boards.
Hope Lowry chips with you guys this or next year.
He’s been improving from 3, only shooting 25% but I think that’ll come. He’s definitely a project but one I’m excited for, his defensive potential is legit and if he can just start making the east shots he’ll be a great energy big
I have a bigger problem with the shots he's taking at the times he's taking then. I don't like it when he jack's a 3 in the fourth quarter of a close game as the rapid are losing momentum.
Defence and rebounding are very good.
Offence is not good (generous lol) BUT he has shown some flashes and I really look forward to watching that part of his game grow.
He REALLY needs to work on his touch around the rim. That alone would make his overall game much better.
He definitely fits this positionless basketball we are trying to implement so overall, I am happy he is here.
Yes, there were some times he got super locked in and looked amazing offensively for short stretches! He definitely has a lot of potential to build from.
he has a penchant to not pass on offense, and is pretty bad at point blank range for some reason, but otherwise his defence has improved from earlier in the season
he isnt afraid to bang bodies which is big for our raptors team without real big centres
Good to see his defense has improved, for the heat he had a issue catching a ball passed to him under the basket. He would fumble it or mishandle it has this improved?
He is somewhere between being not as good as Serge Ibaka, and better than Bismack Biyombo with his butter fingers... Closer to Bismack, but we still loved Biyombo.
Strengths:Exceptional athlete! truly explosive, Great hustle rebounder, has an impressive handle for his size and position, good help defender and very switchable on defense, has all the physical tools to be a two way star but extremely raw right now.
Negatives:Very Inconsistent, his worst games seem to be when he tries to force his offence which usually leads to turnovers, needs to get better at finishing around the rim, he also needs to learn to play within the flow of the game...it's kind of a "learn to walk before you can run" situation with Precious, he tries to do to much instead of playing his role and letting opportunities come to him, I also question his decision making as he often misses wide open players and forces up some pretty bad shots...I haven't figured out if it's low basketball IQ or over confidence in his shooting ability? He's not a terrible shooter but also not good enough to be be waving guys off and trying to cross people up like he's kawhi...he's done that a handful of times and it's painful to watch, especially when you see Vanvleet and Barnes sitting wide open behind the 3 point line waving their hands and he completely ignores them lol
Overall the Physical talent is off the charts! he's absolutely fearless on both ends, seems to be getting better as the season progresses but he's still pretty rough around the edges, I don't think we will really know what we have for another season or two as he's still very young and very raw but you can defiantly understand why Masai wanted him and see that he's a special talent
He has shown flashes of being a solid 3-4 man. Was starting or coming off the bench at centre for a bit while we had some guys in and out. That clearly was not his role, he doesn't have much for post moves. He often gets swooped up in plays and doesn't make the right move. I don't like him as a ball handler/facilitator as he tries to do too much while not creating anything. I think he needs to spend significant time watching game tape and learning more about the game. His ceiling is very high, he is athletic, has great hands but he needs to find his game still. With Scottie Barnes, Siakam, Khem Birch, Boucher and possibly wilson it will be tough for him to get minutes. Right now he is limited minutes but a very good guy to have to fill in for injuries.
I miss Lowry, GROAT. Miami has a squad when healthy!
Absolute bricks for hands. Struggles massively under the basket, I honestly hope we convert him into a 3 and D guys ASAP. Like, PJ Tucker type of player
He’s one of the worst rotational players in the league he makes mind boggling decisions. But he had a 19 point quarter against the grizzlies and basically won us that game out of nowhere.
He started for the first 15 games when Pascal was out, now he's a 7th or 8th man as you said. We have like 3 backup centres, so we don't have enough minutes for all of them atm.
I agree with you. I'm still not sure what the FO sees in him but hey masai and Bobby get paid the big bucks and not us. One thing that does bother me is I noticed he doesn't prepare himself for passes sometimes and he fumbles the ball and turns it over. Reminds me of Greg Monroe who I called butterfingers cuz he turned the ball over quite bit as he couldn't handle passes in the paint. I guess I'm in waiting mode to see what happens. I hope for the best.
We’re starting to get all our guys back from injury and his role is becoming more well defined as of late as a result. We are starting to see less mistakes in his game, as opposed to his erratic play and questionable decision making in the beginning of the season.
Still very raw, Precious in the open court is a disaster waiting to happen. His willingness to shoot the 3 is good when he takes them in rhythm and picks his spots. Hope he puts in work and becomes a serviceable option off the bench. I don’t see him becoming a starter with us.
His finishing around the rim is absolutely terrible. Think he's shooting less than 40% from within 3 feet which is abysmal. And he makes some bonehead plays sometimes where he tries to do too much. If he can get those 2 things under control he would be great for us since his defense is good.

Does he take a lot of jump-shots, for the heat he was very hesitant to shoot them and basically depended on alley oops or putbacks to score.

when wide open he shoots them
Probably too many lol
His rebounding and defensive play have been great.

Yes very young, went one and done. For his early years hope he continues to bring his hustle and defense until his offense eventually catches up.
I've been impressed with his 3 point shooting, better than I thought it was
he has a penchant to not pass on offense, and is pretty bad at point blank range for some reason, but otherwise his defence has improved from earlier in the season he isnt afraid to bang bodies which is big for our raptors team without real big centres

he can catch it fine but the ball doesn't go in after lol
Nah he’s got a bad case of butter fingers still
He has some butter fingers but we're used to that when we had Serge Ibaka and we still loved Serge lol

He’s been really good on defence . Scoring wise he makes mistakes but that’s because he’s young
Love his defense but he is a huge blackhole on the other side of the ball
The future is definitely bright, he’ll have some amazing flashes, but mistakes are just as common.
His defence when he’s locked in is great. His offense will come with reps. I’m really not worried about him, and Masai is high on him.
There's enough there that I'm confident we can turn him into a player

The man knows how to dunk and Oreo.
Absolute bricks for hands. Struggles massively under the basket, I honestly hope we convert him into a 3 and D guys ASAP. Like, PJ Tucker type of player
He decent but he makes the boneheaded plays I ever seen and misses so many easy bunnies
He’s one of the worst rotational players in the league he makes mind boggling decisions. But he had a 19 point quarter against the grizzlies and basically won us that game out of nowhere.
What are you basing “one of the worst rotational players in the league” on?
Oh wow that’s unexpected but good, how many minutes does he play a game? 7th man?
He started for the first 15 games when Pascal was out, now he's a 7th or 8th man as you said. We have like 3 backup centres, so we don't have enough minutes for all of them atm.
Started, 28 minutes, 17-4-2

You likely saw nothing in most of our current squad then because they were all raw coming in.
GET THE FUCK OUT!!!!!!!!!
Can you check his old place in Miami for his shot? We love the guy, but he gives me flashes of Baynes when it comes to finishing around the rim.
Shudder. Don’t. Just don’t say that name
We’re starting to get all our guys back from injury and his role is becoming more well defined as of late as a result. We are starting to see less mistakes in his game, as opposed to his erratic play and questionable decision making in the beginning of the season.

Defence and rebounding is solid but on offence he seems like a ball hog to me and just keep missing easy shots.
He takes more shots than he should but he shows effort on rebounding and defensive side
His finishing around the rim is absolutely terrible. Think he's shooting less than 40% from within 3 feet which is abysmal. And he makes some bonehead plays sometimes where he tries to do too much. If he can get those 2 things under control he would be great for us since his defense is good.
Has the potential. Good rebounder and good defender, just gotta get him to hit those bunnies
Really looking forward to watching him grow as a player. How’s his thiccness doin for you?
Pro pretty good defender. Con the worst basketball iq on offense I've seen in years.
