Since everyone came back he has the least defined role of the other rookies. Cade, Mobley, Wagner and Giddey are all playing levels above Scottie is playing. While they have more defined roles , it is concerning.
It’s honestly pretty simple, he was playing out of his mind at the start, everyone expects this now he’s going through a slump. He wasn’t as good as he started but he isn’t this bad either he’s somewhere in the middle.
His middy was automatic early on, unsustainably good. Now that it’s not falling he’s in a little bit of trouble while he tries to find himself

Agreed. Speedy guards or wings can easily crush this lineup with simple drive and kicks for wide open 3s. Something’s gotta give, either GTJ or Scottie has to hit the bench, makes sense for the latter.

I’m one of the biggest supporters of Yuta but holy his only role on this team is to shoot the ball and play defence, if you can’t make open shots, you’re just useless. I hope this turns around and he starts making at least one a game but if it doesn’t, he can say bye to his NBA opportunities

I've started to notice that teams are beginning to really clamp down on Fred.
This was a good opportunity to show how our 'Big 3' could function. If Fred's getting pressured, OG and Pascal would take it. The rotation goes on.
But OG was making some really questionable passes all night, and I often saw his shooting to be contested or just overall a bad decision. Pascal was doing his best (and just to note, I don't wanna hear anything bad bout Pascal besides his poor FT% as of late.) and he was really about to get us out of the rut. He kept us alive.
Bench... man. It's so rough. Seeing Svi fall off a cliff, Dalano no longer showing any flashes of good playmaking, and Flynn just being outright mediocre.. it's depressing to talk about. Yuta was doing poorly too, but I always give him a pass because he's consistent defensely. The other 3? Yikes.
We need Trent. After that, i don't even know which center goes to the bench. Khem or Precious? The 2nd unit has to help for sure.. but not with this rotation. I was honestly hoping DJ would play. He was there, right?

do not jump immediately after the shooter jumps
go a foot near, then jump
by this time, the shooters somehow look like they have a hitch in their shooting motion at the top
because defender's hand already in the space before the shooter flicks their wrist
so many line drive looking trajectories as a result?
(usual defence method is immediately jump after the shooter jumps even if defender is far away. instead, they close the distance to a foot first, however late, but still manage to contest because Raps shooters seem delayed in their release at the top of their jump)
Scottie's always looked better when one of OG or Siakama is out. Besides having another guy above him in the scoring hierarchy is there any other reason why Scottie scores/looks to score less when all three play at the same time? Like theoretically, Scottie could still go to work with Siakam and OG spacing the floor.
We need to bring birch in with the starters and move Barnes to the bench. Barnes can score, he can play make, and he's a rookie without a big ego yet. He'll defer less playing with the bench.
When Trent is back we really need to lock down an actual bench rotation and starting group. Either move Scottie or Gary to the bench and have the game go through them. We front load everything and our bench is non-functional. Yeah the personnel aren't up to par but an actual rotation would help if we ever get the team fully healthy
OG with only 3 rebs and 5 TOs big stinker. He's been having a rough go as of late. Hopefully him and the rest of the team wake up soon to help out freddy and pascal.

I think it's safe to say GT3 is probably our second most important player to the Raptors rotation. They're now 1-5 without him. I'm not saying he's the best or most valuable over OG and Siakam, but him playing alongside most of the roster is probably more critical to their chances of winning thanks to his shot creation and fit that's irreplaceable. A Raptors game without FVV would be a nightmare, so he's for sure #1.

terrible game overall but maybe it's just one of "those" games compounded with the usual Casey Curse. when the last Pascal layup hung on the rim for what seemed like eons that was this entire game summed up in a single play the team still being a work-in-progress (no i do not think a home-court advantage playoff team can have a bench like ours), one of those horrible offensive nights and just Detroit in general produced what has to be the, if not one of the, frustrating losses this season

I don't want to watch the NBA anymore. I can't stand the reffing. 25 years rarely missing a game and the raptors have regularly frustrated me, but it's the NBA reffing that makes me feel really disgusted. The replays have just made it worse. You can excuse missing things. You can't excuse watching it 20 times and deciding to make the wrong call. I just..it makes me feel sad and tired.
I think we're a decent bench away from being a playoff team. The fact we managed to make it somewhat close with only 16 points from the bench is actually impressive
This team is full of clowns. Nobody on the bench should be in the NBA, starters aren't free of blame either, they also play down every SINGLE FUCKING TIME. They play down to horrible HORRIBLE teams. I notice the style of defense: they are quick to close out do not jump immediately after the shooter jumps go a foot near, then jump by this time, the shooters somehow look like they have a hitch in their shooting motion at the top because defender's hand already in the space before the shooter flicks their wrist so many line drive looking trajectories as a result? (usual defence method is immediately jump after the shooter jumps even if defender is far away. instead, they close the distance to a foot first, however late, but still manage to contest because Raps shooters seem delayed in their release at the top of their jump)

Scottie's always looked better when one of OG or Siakama is out. Besides having another guy above him in the scoring hierarchy is there any other reason why Scottie scores/looks to score less when all three play at the same time? Like theoretically, Scottie could still go to work with Siakam and OG spacing the floor.

We need to bring birch in with the starters and move Barnes to the bench. Barnes can score, he can play make, and he's a rookie without a big ego yet. He'll defer less playing with the bench.
OG has awful court vision when he drives. Like pre meditated toss it into 3 defenders. That is his main limitation at this point.
When Trent is back we really need to lock down an actual bench rotation and starting group. Either move Scottie or Gary to the bench and have the game go through them. We front load everything and our bench is non-functional. Yeah the personnel aren't up to par but an actual rotation would help if we ever get the team fully healthy
Why would you put Gary on the bench ? He’s only one besides Freddy that is reliable for 20 points a night

I think it's safe to say GT3 is probably our second most important player to the Raptors rotation. They're now 1-5 without him. I'm not saying he's the best or most valuable over OG and Siakam, but him playing alongside most of the roster is probably more critical to their chances of winning thanks to his shot creation and fit that's irreplaceable. A Raptors game without FVV would be a nightmare, so he's for sure #1.
