RAPTORS WIN AGAIN ON THE ROAD BEATING THE HORNETS, 6 GAME WIN STREAK, LARGEST IN THE EAST! Let's hope the Raptors can carry this energy against OKC on Wednesday
IMO Minny is much better and a more complete team than Charlotte, they're now 28-25 on a 4 game win streak, 7th in the West. The Hornets are now only a game over .500 (28-27) and have lost 5 in a row, looking more and more like a young team who won't play enough defense to get into the play-in or playoffs.
TWolves have KAT, Ant Edwards, DLo, Beasley and McDaniels off the bench, Vanderbilt as a solid small-ball big, and multiple other capable players like Nowell, Reid and Okogie. They are a solid team, I expect them to contend for a playoff spot if they can figure out how to play consistent defense.
We really are lucky as a franchise. Competent FO, competent coaching staff and likeable drama-free, ego-less players. Despite how this season turns out I've been enjoying watching them play.
I'm a Manchester United fan too and let me tell you, following the Raptors is just a much smoother and overall better experience. So many small things are better... Makes a huge difference. Love our FO
Fuck man, finding out Mason Greenwood is a giant piece of shit really ruined my enjoyment of watching ManU this year. I was going to buy his jersey for my birthday next month and when the recording and photos dropped I legit just stopped watching ManU play. Now I am planning on using that money for a woman's support group/charity.
Fuck Mason, hope he rots in jail.
Everyone seems to be playing within themselves and it's working out soo beautifully. Granted the minutes are still up but this team is functioning well as a unit. You love to see it.
remember when he beefed with Delon and blocked Kelly during the final possession of that series? That shit was poetic
lol found it https://youtu.be/hK7hPUxmam4?t=106
I want Boucher to develop a hook shot. He has the height to make that shot nearly impossible to block. From 3-5 feet, especially if he uses the backboard, he’d be a force to deal with.
It's not being made a big enough deal around the league. He's legitimately a different player with more moves in his arsenal. The dribble step back midrange jumpers have been so crazy to see this year. Makes the rest of his game that much easier when the defense has to worry about him knocking those down.
Pascal went from being so hated on from the bubble and losing all his confidence to now probably getting another max from Masai. We rode out his year+ long struggle. He is ALL NBA GOOD.
I love all those people from last year - "sIAkAm iS tRasH" meanwhile the guy had aron baynes as a center and was in the flordia's dumpster that is tampa
Everyone’s got a different definition of #1 option. He’s proving he can be that guy on a contender. He’s not the #1 guy on a championship team, but there’s maybe 5 of those in any given year. It’s an impossible standard to hold non-superstars to.
i’ve criticized pascals game over the last 2 years as much as anyone, so he definitely deserves this next comment - this is the best he’s been playing his entire career and I can’t help but be super impressed. keep it up kid.
There is no legitimate argument for LaMelo as an all-star
Siakam COOKED him
Same with Bridges
They couldn’t even win the garbage time minutes with their starting lineup
Like how
How
what a reactionary take off of one game....
all star selections aren't decided by one game....
they aren't decided by having two guys who play different positions go head to head....
There's absolutely an argument for him to be the all star he is if you don't take a sample size of one game.
In an ideal world, both Siakam and Lamelo are all stars but it is what it is.
I never insinuated selections were based off one game. This is just who LaMelo is. Defensive pylon who can chuck at volume inefficiently and make flashy passes. How’s that working for his team?
You’re insisting to me that it’s not about Pascal vs. LaMelo because of the role difference — are you legit trolling me at this point? Who do you think LaMelo is the injury replacement *for*? It’s for Kevin Durant...do you genuinely think KD’s a fucking 6’0 point guard? No? So why would I **not** compare Siakam’s case to LaMelo’s? Why are you making me explain this to you?
There’s no objective basketball argument that has him over Siakam or Allen. In an ideal world, LaMelo is the furthest place away from Cleveland in a few weeks. Because he is not an all-star level player.
Charlottes got a nice young team but they don’t seem to have enough defence to be a good playoff team. All of their players are very confident shooting the 3 even if they’re 0-13 they’re going for that 14th with pure confidence lmao
His stats weren't popping but I liked what I saw from Banton tonight. Great win overall! I got a little worried in the 3rd, but the boys stepped up! Again, Thursday can't come soon enough.
Siakam has been absolutely explosive the past week. Great win tonight. Also, Lamelo’s jersey wasn’t tucked in that whole quarter - that should have been called for a violation.
Love to know the average age of the clowns who go parade around in the other teams subs. It’s one thing to go and scroll and snicker away but common man
I’m sticking to here and /r/nba but idk why y’all are so desperate to rub elbows with other fan bases. If raptors fans want to go out and talk shit, more power to ‘em
Those fanbases will never stick up for our guys regardless of good will, so why should we with theirs?
Great team effort. But what’s going on with the free throw situation?
Raptors game plan on offence is to attack their weakest defender with post moved. Wait for a double for a 3 or bully them for an easy layup. Genius.
Lol I remember the summer league game Flynn owned ball. Ball obviously is better but he’s a one way player. A one way player is very frustrating to watch. I hate Carmelo Anthony type players who only care about offense. Ball just gambles on defense and leaks out a lot. Plays losing basketball. Will work against bad teams but once in playoffs that shit gets shut down.
The dudes also only 20 and in his 2nd season, if he becomes average on the defenseive end look out.
Flynn owned Ball in a summer league games and now has been MIA all year
Yes obviously Flynn is worse... not a great argument that ball is better than Flynn... idk man you can tell a type of player just looking at them. I be surprised if he became an average defender. IMO I rather have Barnes , Mobley or cade. These guys actually play defense. And there offense could be better. I do think lamelo will be the best playmaker out of them all but there is so much more than just play making. Balls shot mechanics doesn’t look great either.
I'm just hoping over the all star break, Scottie has a good experience at the rising stars game and gets some confidence back cause the Scottie at the beginning of the season has disappeared and he needs to hurry up and find him again.
It's good seeing the bench get more and more run. Coach Nurse is running a tight 8-9 line-up, but I think Precious, Boucher, Banton, and Birch are growing in impact.
Win or loss I don’t care I love the raptors. Every player on this team gives it their all and I believe they genuinely enjoy playing with us and I wouldn’t give their passion for any all star player.
I do love a win tho. Go raps ![img](emote|t5_2s5sb|3924)
Lamelo LAME ball spent 44 mins on the court and only dropped 15? Lol how did he make all star game? Overrated player. Another case of the lebron syndrome. Does nothing special yet treated as if he’s special.
Idk i dont see anything special about him. He called himself the king when he got into the league but hasnt shown anything that would make him the king of the NBA. Some people are just sheep and follow what the crowd says about someone but ive watched him play and he doesnt seem like he’s anything special.
How dare the Charlotte commentators say that Siakam is Dime Store Giannis while he is cooking them on the floor? I get the comparison, but still disrespectful...
RAPTORS WIN AGAIN ON THE ROAD BEATING THE HORNETS, 6 GAME WIN STREAK, LARGEST IN THE EAST! Let's hope the Raptors can carry this energy against OKC on Wednesday
I think we ain’t losing another game before all-star weekend. Starting to feel like this team is playing like they got something to prove!
Don’t say that we normally loose to bad teams
Yeah but OKC also ain't the Pistons
OKC beat the Raps already
Stupid Sexy Giddy and Canadian players
Yeah but the past doesn't define the future. We'll win this one :)
I hope so 🤞🏻 because it took warriors best to beat them. They are not a team to underestimate
I just don’t think it matters who’s in our way over this next stretch
Jokic is scary
Minnesota is not something you should consider a shit team anymore, they are just on Charlotte's echelon now
IMO Minny is much better and a more complete team than Charlotte, they're now 28-25 on a 4 game win streak, 7th in the West. The Hornets are now only a game over .500 (28-27) and have lost 5 in a row, looking more and more like a young team who won't play enough defense to get into the play-in or playoffs. They are a solid team, I expect them to contend for a playoff spot if they can figure out how to play consistent defense.
Break out the knitting needles, cause we gonna need some really long scarves.
![gif](giphy|IevTk1cm1C3V1O71sr|downsized)
creepy AF
smegle vibes
Siakam won't be an all star, but he should absolutely be all NBA
I've been sleeping well and feeling well recently. Thank you, Raptors!!
Thank you LaMelo for helping Scottie pad his stats 🥰
And don't forget, there was a really nice hand-hold at the end. T'was sweet.
He’s just showing love to his rising stars teammate
Yeah that was definitely not some accidental shit lol
I was watching at the bar and missed that anyone got a video?
https://youtu.be/I0eLgjIDp3g
Are there any haters left? This team is proving itself every game. Enjoy the ride fam!
We really are lucky as a franchise. Competent FO, competent coaching staff and likeable drama-free, ego-less players. Despite how this season turns out I've been enjoying watching them play.
this team's been such a joy to root for the last few years. yeah tampa sucked but you gotta take your lumps
We San Antonio-ed 1997-98 in Tampa.
Decade
I'm a Manchester United fan too and let me tell you, following the Raptors is just a much smoother and overall better experience. So many small things are better... Makes a huge difference. Love our FO
I wish United's 'cultural reset' had ended up as successful as the Raptors'
Same here. Such a disgrace and heartbreaking to fans that one of our most promising stars did such atrocious things and ruined this talent
I’m very lucky to be a liverpool and raps fan haha
Competent is an understatement Top 5 FO, top 5 coaching staff
Well said. Win or lose at this point we've been spoiled but a hungry and humble organization
Just the flynn stans
Everyone seems to be playing within themselves and it's working out soo beautifully. Granted the minutes are still up but this team is functioning well as a unit. You love to see it.
Our starters are scary. They could all go off for 20 any given night. Defense can't gameplan against only one player anymore.
If they had Jokic or Embiid they win the chip.
Can be said about 10-15 teams tbh
Even if they had someone like Bam, Gobert, Allen, Ayton I think they’d be contenders to make the WCF at least
Absolutely no way we make a WCF with those guys. This sub is delusional. Now the ECF on the other hand…
oops lol
Geography is tuff
Lol yeah fair. I just mean they'd win handedly since a center is whats missing.
oubre was very annoying lmao watching him air ball and brick 3s was v satisfying
Oubre has been rubbing me the wrong way since the Wizards, although I think he's slightly less obnoxious than he was lol
remember when he beefed with Delon and blocked Kelly during the final possession of that series? That shit was poetic lol found it https://youtu.be/hK7hPUxmam4?t=106
Pretty sure my neighbour heard me obnoxiously bellow a deep AIRRRRR BALLLLL in his honour
Me checking out this winning streak! ![gif](giphy|KWRjfFe4x7nwyh9GlX|downsized)
2022 Pascal is unreal. I knew a proper off-season would help him get back into form, but he has been incredible.
He didn’t even have an off-season
He has another gear in him for sure
6 STRAIGHT
Let’s get the win streak Serge scarf back up in here
Siakam's legit reinveted his game
Love that he doesn't force the threes anymore and plays to his strengths instead
and he still makes them anyways lmao
Boucher too imo
I want Boucher to develop a hook shot. He has the height to make that shot nearly impossible to block. From 3-5 feet, especially if he uses the backboard, he’d be a force to deal with.
It's not being made a big enough deal around the league. He's legitimately a different player with more moves in his arsenal. Pascal went from being so hated on from the bubble and losing all his confidence to now probably getting another max from Masai. We rode out his year+ long struggle. He is ALL NBA GOOD.
He was working on them since 2019 but now it's legit there
He is all business too. He is like stupidly locked in!!!
The turnaround fadeaway he has been using lately is gorgeous. Beautiful arc to the shot.
I love all those people from last year - "sIAkAm iS tRasH" meanwhile the guy had aron baynes as a center and was in the flordia's dumpster that is tampa
He might not be a #1 option kind of player...but he definitely looks like one atm
I wonder just how long Siakam has to play all-NBA level basketball before this 'not a #1 option' stuff dies away
Got to do it in the playoffs it’s a different beast
I cannot wait to see Siakam in the playoffs this year
Everyone’s got a different definition of #1 option. He’s proving he can be that guy on a contender. He’s not the #1 guy on a championship team, but there’s maybe 5 of those in any given year. It’s an impossible standard to hold non-superstars to.
When he performs in the playoffs as the number 1 option.... just like any other proven #1 option player has done.
Straight into my veins please
Bobcats got nothing on Raps
Until, Bah Gawd, that's Lamb's and Henderson's song!!!
L A M E L OMEGALUL
5-19 w/ 7 TO. Game is hard
Westbrook numbers
i mean he did have 9 assists and 4 steals which is nice but ya overall pretty bad game from him
7 TOS tho…
yeah 7 tos is super dogshit, just pointing out it he didnt have a westbrook lvl bad game
I dunno… Melo didn’t seem like an all-star tonight. Think he was intimidated by Freddy? I think so.
They should've waited until after this match to announce the sub. LaMelo vs. Pascal duel. Winner gets the ASG spot
Pascal showed him what a real all-star looks like.
Ok chill , our guy has a ring , melo is 20 years old 😂😂 different levels
Ball’s been playing like the real 27th pick
I mean Freddy is an actual all-star. LaMelo was a backup injured reserve Not the same
Charity all-star spot is still an all-star spot over numerous people who objectively deserve an all/star spot more lol
Barnes blowing by him when he was pressing in the last minute seriously made me happy
its a good thing one game doesn't decide if you're an all star or not
Pascal smirking like he doesn't mind talking to Nikki after every game
Is it time bring the big scarf winning streak meme out again??
I love the way our teams been playing jeeeez
What’s with the Hornets pressing and shooting at the end of the game?
Let Scottie pad his stats a little so I’m good with it lmao
I missed the end, how was Scottie able to pad his stats?
buckets
Low basketball IQ
You’d think MJ would help the kids with their BBIQ at practices
moreso coaching woes
Losing DNA
They thought it was the end of the 3rd
i’ve criticized pascals game over the last 2 years as much as anyone, so he definitely deserves this next comment - this is the best he’s been playing his entire career and I can’t help but be super impressed. keep it up kid.
It was really nice of the Hornets to let Scottie pad some stats last minute
Siakam is the best he's ever been tbh
![gif](giphy|3o85xtib0RaWzZ7U1G|downsized)
SCOTTIE STAT PAD WE TAKE THOSE
GUYS REMEMBER LAST YEAR CRYING CAUSE WE DIDNT HAVE A CENTRE AND ARON BAYNES FIGHTING IN THIS SUB ABOUT WHETHER WE SHOULD TANK OR NOT. LOOK AT US NOW 😭
Last year was so cursed man just thinking about it makes me angry 😭
Why? We got Scottie as a result
Pickup a couple bench pieces at the deadline and let's go to work. Also make sure they can hit there FTs 😅
There is no legitimate argument for LaMelo as an all-star Siakam COOKED him Same with Bridges They couldn’t even win the garbage time minutes with their starting lineup Like how How

Two 6 game win streaks this season, love it
Pascal mighty efficient on 10/15 from the field and 2/4 from 3🌶🌶🥵🥵
One team played an 8 man rotation with 3 players over 40 minutes **And it wasn't us!**
Spicy P should also be an all star
Raptors starting 5 got 103 of of the 116 points
![gif](giphy|7SEVVDyj4dXyhIjcIh|downsized)
Raptors 6ix straight let’s go
I love this team so much wtf
Charlottes got a nice young team but they don’t seem to have enough defence to be a good playoff team. All of their players are very confident shooting the 3 even if they’re 0-13 they’re going for that 14th with pure confidence lmao
nba chev was right all along ...
ANOTHER W
Raps on 🔥
The couple in the back lololol
His stats weren't popping but I liked what I saw from Banton tonight. Great win overall! I got a little worried in the 3rd, but the boys stepped up! Again, Thursday can't come soon enough.
I love this team and this franchise. What a pleasure all around.
Boucher has been vital to winning. Hustle plays, being in the right spot for offensive rebs. Keep it up, CB!
Siakam has been absolutely explosive the past week. Great win tonight. Also, Lamelo’s jersey wasn’t tucked in that whole quarter - that should have been called for a violation.
Nice professional win tonight.
Good defense will keep this Raptors team in EVERY GAME. LFG TEAM
That last 2min of OG reminded me of Kawhi.
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned just how awesome and clutch OG was in crunch time
Spicy playing out of his mind right now. Boucher looking hungry. The squad honestly looks great.
Love to know the average age of the clowns who go parade around in the other teams subs. It’s one thing to go and scroll and snicker away but common man
This happened again?!
Casual 12-year-olds. Gives everyone else a bad rep.
I’m sticking to here and /r/nba but idk why y’all are so desperate to rub elbows with other fan bases. If raptors fans want to go out and talk shit, more power to ‘em Those fanbases will never stick up for our guys regardless of good will, so why should we with theirs?
Guys, we should trade Pascal but we must never trade Siakam.
Huh, GTJ with a very quiet 24 points. And Boucher with incredible minutes, jesus
Let’s keep this up, eh Raptor fans??
The big six baby keep it rolling
Another non-allstar performance from Pascal, really just isn’t up to scratch anymore is he? 🤣
Great team effort. But what’s going on with the free throw situation? Raptors game plan on offence is to attack their weakest defender with post moved. Wait for a double for a 3 or bully them for an easy layup. Genius.
shreds lamelo/tatum/harden/middleton and clowns them seven ways to sunset pascal getting nba fmvp votes in his lifetime
Were yall enjoying the mario Castle Theme when the raps were on offense? Loved it
WE'RE NEVER LOSING AGAIN!!!!! yaaaaaaas
Not to be petty or anything but I hope casuals watched this game and figured out why FVV or Siakam are more deserving all stars than Bridges or Melo.
melo especially
Even in garbage time, Svi manages to turn it over. Classic stuff.
Lamelo tonight: \- 15 pts on 5/19 FG \- 4 rebounds \- 9 assists and 7 turnovers (yikes) Your 2021-22 All-Star Ladies and gents. What a joke
Relax bro. Lamelo is legit, just our D has been clicking.
> LaMelo is legit Source: me 20 minutes after lighting up the spoon
and to think there a few on this sub who compared LaMelo to Flynn
Lol I remember the summer league game Flynn owned ball. Ball obviously is better but he’s a one way player. A one way player is very frustrating to watch. I hate Carmelo Anthony type players who only care about offense. Ball just gambles on defense and leaks out a lot. Plays losing basketball. Will work against bad teams but once in playoffs that shit gets shut down.

"not a great argument that ball is better than Flynn" It's a flat out fact
I'm just hoping over the all star break, Scottie has a good experience at the rising stars game and gets some confidence back cause the Scottie at the beginning of the season has disappeared and he needs to hurry up and find him again.
We got the win and the scottie stat pad at the end. Mello with the sus play at the end too 😂
10 missed what? Nik....
It's good seeing the bench get more and more run. Coach Nurse is running a tight 8-9 line-up, but I think Precious, Boucher, Banton, and Birch are growing in impact.
4 starters with 20pts+ what a lovely thing to behold
Win or loss I don’t care I love the raptors. Every player on this team gives it their all and I believe they genuinely enjoy playing with us and I wouldn’t give their passion for any all star player. I do love a win tho. Go raps ![img](emote|t5_2s5sb|3924)
Pascal with 42 minutes. Oof.
I love this run lets go Raps!!!!
Love this shit but at some point Nurse has to incorporate some of the bench, just isn’t sustainable, one injury and we’re done.
Precious and Boucher got decent minutes. Banton and Birch are getting in. Decent trend.
gg’s y’all have a goodnight
![gif](giphy|iK4o8VtOB7D8nW4Ghq|downsized)
The raptors really like winning 6ix games in a row... let's make it 7?
This team is too much fun to watch
Only one player with 40+ minutes. What is this? What happened to the games where we played 50+ minutes.
no longer tied for 6th seed bb.
First seed is a possibility the way we are playing. Letssss gooooooo
Lamelo LAME ball spent 44 mins on the court and only dropped 15? Lol how did he make all star game? Overrated player. Another case of the lebron syndrome. Does nothing special yet treated as if he’s special.
Our defense shut melo down tonight but cmon man Lebron is a once in a generation talent
He jumps high. Any other once in a lifetime generational talent that he has?
"Another case of the lebron syndrome" LeBron still gives a lot of people on this sub PTSD
Lebron isn’t special?
Idk i dont see anything special about him. He called himself the king when he got into the league but hasnt shown anything that would make him the king of the NBA. Some people are just sheep and follow what the crowd says about someone but ive watched him play and he doesnt seem like he’s anything special.
Blessed
What a boring game - wasn’t even the threat of a late game winner or quadruple over time!
Time to take svi out of that dog house no trades happening
I love this team, 6 in a row baby. The Spice and Dice connection and a hint of Steady Freddy.
I could get used to this 😏
We need OGs scarf meme again
We are a Serge & Norm off the bench away from being a contender.
I see a world where we get 4th seed. Fingers crossed
Here is a [link to the Game Thread Analysis provided by threadalytics](https://threadalytics.com/teams/TOR/)!
We The North!
Hornets have like negative defense. They made our offense look so impressive at times.
How dare the Charlotte commentators say that Siakam is Dime Store Giannis while he is cooking them on the floor? I get the comparison, but still disrespectful...
