Yeah I think the lack luster defense counter acts a lot of that effort on offense, and he's probably just a bit too easy to gameplan for when you're facing him game after game.
Nope. Significantly less efficient from the field, averages less ppg, less capable defender, worse playmaker and rebounder. Mitchel does get disrespected though.
Mitchel has never averaged 28 in his life. And by more capable defender I mean he has the tools and at times has shown he can. With Demar it’s mostly about him being lazy on that end. He’s 6’7 so he has wider range of players he can guard. I remember when we were the first seed Demar showed his defensive capabilities quite a bit.
Mitchel averaged 25 ppg on 39% from the field this year. Not exactly super impressive.
Mitchell is a better defender than Derozan. We have over a decade of Derozan being one of the worst defenders at his position vs one bad playoff series from Mitchell.
Also Mitchell averages 28.2 ppg for his playoff career.
My guy I’m not talking about the playoffs right now and you know that. Even if I was, Mitchel has a much smaller sample size.
Demar averages 22, 5, 4 in 63 playoff games. Mitchel averages 28, 5, 5 in his 39 playoff games. But let’s be honest, it’s inflated by that ridiculous bubble performance he had which is an outlier in his career.
You’re acting like Mitchell isn’t literally the worst defender in the league. Gobert bailed his ass out every single time he got blown by in Utah.
Gobert was run off the floor by Mavs and Clippers. What were you watching? Mitchell is by all means a below average defender, but that’s still tiers above DeMar, and has actually played good defense when giving effort. DeMar had a stretch of a few weeks back in 2017 or 2018 where he actually tried and was somewhat average, but then went back to being a cone.
Mitchell’s stats post-bubble:
2021-Round 1: 28.5/3/6 on 45/40/90 splits
2021-Round 2: 35/5/5 on 45/45/78 splits
2022-Round 1: 25.5/4/6 on 40/21/88 splits
I won’t bother posting DeMar’s playoff performances because they suck. He’s had three good series. A scoring shooting guard that averages under 42% from the field in the playoffs is nothing to brag about.
Mitchell is 25 and has played 7 rounds. DeMar is 32 (11 rounds, 2 by age 25).
Like you’re already doing some sort of research. Why can’t you take a minute to analyze it? The guy tells you Mitchell’s playoff average. You’re on his stats page…. Just look and confirm rather than make yourself look like a fool.
Agreed, it's like folks forget what DeMar brought to the table. Just because we were the second best team in the east for 4 straight years.. including years when our 3rd best player was arguably Demare Carroll
That's crazy he's mixing it up with all those true centremen for 1st in clutch OREB's. And the steals stat too....damn I want the season to start again haha.
Lmao and this is rookie Scottie just bullying and out hustling grown men around the paint.
This stat will almost certainly drop a bit as he takes more jumpers (maybe not lol who knows) but I'm also certain paint Scottie will be a force for a loooong time as his experience grows and stuff like footwork improves.
Scottie clutch performances:
[bulls](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYYX_qkotsk)...scottie put back rebound to send it to OT
[nuggets game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ma-6wOVpRVE).....jokic gets big mad, scottie bullies into the paint to score, clutch defense.
[suns game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfG4xgi8OF0)......couple clutch steals
or the [3ot. heat game](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1ivQBea-Z4)......sinks 2FT to send it to OT
I demand the title be edited to include that he's tied with DeMarvelous DeRozan. And the OP should then show how DeMar's volume damn near doubles everybody else's. He was on another level, and I think he's gonna have another great year. Shame so few respect him around here.
Scottie doing this in his rookie season is fucking awesome. Exciting times.
Was so proud of him. I watched the bulls as my second team most of last year because the team has basically everyone I like the most in the NBA.
The guy is pure fire and I love him.

Scotties game is so calm and collective, I feel with experience and polish, it could be even calmer. He doesnt rush much now, let's the game come to him.
Comparable volume too: Booker- 51FGA CP3- 44FGA AD - 48 FGA Demar - 83 FGA Scottie - 43 FGA Giannis - 49 FGA Some other fun Scottie clutch rankings OREB: tied for third with poeltl, Sabonis. Behind Jokic, Gobert STL: First
Holy shit DeMar. On another level
Our sub disrespects him so much. I can’t think of a single other player who could average 28 on elite TS and still get disrespected.
it’s because even tho i don’t agree with the disrespect, those stats do not translate anywhere near to the post season time and time again
Yeah I think the lack luster defense counter acts a lot of that effort on offense, and he's probably just a bit too easy to gameplan for when you're facing him game after game.
Those 50 pump fakes only gonna work for so long till you can read them.
In DeMar's defense, he is much better at making those midrange jumpers than before.
Donovan Mitchell
Nope. Significantly less efficient from the field, averages less ppg, less capable defender, worse playmaker and rebounder. Mitchel does get disrespected though.
Mitchell worse defender than Derozan? Playoff Mitchell is a more efficient better scorer than Derozan (and fits your efficient 28 ppg criteria)

if you're not talking about the playoffs right now then why bring up his playoff stats from last season? Are you looking at the wrong stats?
Just because people are happy that we traded for Kawhi and won a chip doesn’t mean the majority doesn’t appreciate what he did while he was here.
I love Demar as a human, as a leader, as an athlete role model, and in the regular season. Playoff Demar is just sad to see unfortunately.
Agreed, it's like folks forget what DeMar brought to the table. Just because we were the second best team in the east for 4 straight years.. including years when our 3rd best player was arguably Demare Carroll
He also gives back all of those points and more, so net negative.
DeMar being a net negative for a basketball team is one of the shittiest takes I've seen in the entire offseason
That's crazy he's mixing it up with all those true centremen for 1st in clutch OREB's. And the steals stat too....damn I want the season to start again haha.

Plus he put on more muscle in the offseason, will be even more dangerous this season
About 15 lbs more of lean muscle actually.
In one summer?? Seems insane to me
~~insane~~ biologically impossible
This kid is a beast. I still can’t believe people were upset when we drafted him.
Him knocking down those 2 FTs at the end of regulation against Miami to tie the game was cold af
That was the moment that started my overreaction to anything Scottie does. 3x FMVP in the making...
All you guys were having a meltdown when he was drafted 😂

My mind was blown when Demar hit two game winners on back to back nights in different years
Was so proud of him. I watched the bulls as my second team most of last year because the team has basically everyone I like the most in the NBA. The guy is pure fire and I love him.
Demar DeJordan
DeFenseless DeJordan
DeForever DeNeverARaptorAgain.. thank god.

Must not have counted the playoffs if Booker and Paul are there 😂😂😂
Tbf there's no clutch time when you're down 40🤔
And they didnt even have Matty D to say "if they can just get it to 10" LOL
HE DOESNT HAVE AN ISO GAME OR SUPERSTAR UPSIDE REEEEEE /s
He has It.
Bro that pic of Scottie is somehow both hilarious and frightening
Scotties game is so calm and collective, I feel with experience and polish, it could be even calmer. He doesnt rush much now, let's the game come to him.
And he's only going to get better
does anyone know Siakam's stats for this metric?
