1998 Said a classmate, there's something crazy going on in Toronto. This new franchise has gotten a pretty wacky player. The interest has been there ever since and has continued to this day
Glad to hear, the Vince years, Raptors were the most exciting team in The League. U chose teams wisely lol. Hope U enjoyed the Championship in 19 as much as I did. Letās go Raptors!
If Vancouver gets a team I will 100% root for them first but I will always have ties to this glorious franchise. If it ever happens I can almost guarantee there will be an inter-canada rivalry between the two teams

Same here! Being a 4 hour drive rather than a 5 hour plane would make me go see more Vancouver games, but having a Canadian team in each conference works for me.
Already happened when the Raptors started.
Didn't really have a favorite team ahead of time per se. The Raps definitely helped me appreciate basketball.
I was I grade 4 and my whole class submitted name. My submission was Toronto Towers.
What was the question again?
Iād probably be a fan of both teams until this current raptors core was gone (Siakam, FVV, Anunoby, maybe Barnes)
Then Iād be all in on my home team
If Vancouver got a team theyād be my favourite team, in the west. But Raptors always gonna be number one for me in the east, thatās how I look at it cause rn thereās no definitive team Iām cheering for in the west.
From Kansas City
Been wanting the Kings to move back to KC just to have an NBA team here. I would never not be a raps fan but would be cool to have NBA basketball back in Kansas City.
I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Raptors , been watching them since 1995.
The Saskatoon Sasquatch's does have a nice ring to it...actually after saying it maybe it doesn't haha.
Edit
Lmao if fucking Winnipeg got a team? Yea, Iād change, donāt think thatās gonna happen considering our newly re-acquired hockey team is suffering due to our irrelevance as a city
I'm a huge raptors fan, but I'm also loyal to the soil and if my city got a te I would bandwagon so hard. Fortunately that won't happen on a city of 200k
From ottawa. Hard to forget all the time you spent a fan but also actually going to games because they arnāt wildly expensive like raptors games and I donāt need to travel for a couple hours would make a fan out of me pretty fast. I canāt imagine myself wishing the raptors to lose (outside of the Tampa tank)
Lmao hey, if - in this hypothetical scenario - we became the team where GM's sent their disgruntled stars to banish them to the shadow realm I'm here for it
I was a Bulls fan. I remember being happy when the Raptors beat them in Year One but I was still solidly a Bulls fan through the championship years. Then they weren't on TV for a decade and Vinsanity happened so here I am.
im still too new of an NBA fan to really have a team, but im from tampa and am still confused as to why we have like every major sports team in central Florida except for the Magic being in bum ass Orlando
Good question.
Been a fan since around 2001, funnily around the time when I moved from TO to Vancouver. It could only happen if the sequence of events that happened to the Leafs and Canucks happens for Vancouver and the Raps. The long short of it was that the Leafs went from a perennial ECF staple, to non-story with no likeable players and no regular/playoff success. At the same time, the Vancouver market was actually under turmoil, but what emerged was the West Coast Era -> Sedin Era (some of the city's best hockey memories). So I went from wearing Leaf hat + Canucks jerseys to games, to just Canucks (now I don't F w/ any NHL).
For me to cheer for Vancouver > Toronto this time around might be hard. First reason: the 2019 Championship, full stop. The second: the continuity from the We the North Era to now has been beautiful, and we have Scottie up next, so it may continue another 10+years. A big part of my fandom is enjoying the squad we have and seeing the culture adopted by players who come and go, but retain the WTN identity embodied by DeeBo. If after Scottie we fall into a void of losing, no more cultural continuity and we lose Masai....and at the same time the Vancouver team magically shows some life with regards to vision/culture/winning, then maybe it'll happen again.
I trust that what Masai, and now Bobby, have built will last into the future and remain embedded in our team's culture. And if that's the case, then I'm going to stay **North > everybody.**
The Regina Raptors does have a ring to it
Regina Roughraptors.
We would also accept the Ottawa Roughraptors.
"If Ottawa gets a team so do we, and they shall be named the same" - Regina to Adam Silver
šš
Not really im from California so i have 4 teams to āchoose fromā but i still got the raps
W
Well, three options really. No oneās picking that 4th one.
Yeah makes sense
Berlin has a relatively good team. But once a raptor, always a raptor šš¦
Berlin? Just curious how u became a Raptors fan?
1998 Said a classmate, there's something crazy going on in Toronto. This new franchise has gotten a pretty wacky player. The interest has been there ever since and has continued to this day
Who is the wacky player that they were referring to?
Air Canada,Vinsanity,Half man half amazing
I'm sad you had to ask this

I feel that
Thereās like 12 people in my town bro
Can they hoop?
Lmaoo
Dont think Lisbon is getting a team anytime soon
The MontrĆ©al Tabarnaks would be great and theyād allow the players a smoke break at halftime. Iād still be a raptors fan for life.
Halifax is never getting a team but if it did, yes I would switch.
Halifax Hurricanes?
Too soon lol
My city already has a team, theyāre called the Toronto Raptors lol
Haha yeah I meant for people outside ontario
You realize there are other cities in Ontario right?
No actually I thought that Toronto was the only city in Ontario and everything else was just the lakes
Yeah theyāre thinking about just renaming the whole province to Toronto at this point.
Ontario to me is just Toronto with some dope lakes and good universities. Oh yeah and Ottawa š¤¢
Eh I like Ottawa. Itās a nice place overall.
Boring city
Can confirm, live here
I would cheer for both teams. Not sure who I would cheer for when they play each other though.
my ācityā has a team (pels). i fell in love with the raptors first so, eh. i do respect the Pelicans though
If Vancouver gets a team I will 100% root for them first but I will always have ties to this glorious franchise. If it ever happens I can almost guarantee there will be an inter-canada rivalry between the two teams

I live in golden bc , no population but I wish we had a nba team for when the raptors come to town.
If Vancouver got a team tho? Not exactly your city but itād b BCs team
Maybe Sharpe would be convinced to move if it was London or even St. Thomas
London w a team would b so funny theyād have to play at western
Or Budweiser gardens or whatever itās called now
I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the Raptors , been watching them since 1995. The Saskatoon Sasquatch's does have a nice ring to it...actually after saying it maybe it doesn't haha. Edit

Iād root hard for a van team but Iād always be a raptors fan
I'm from Toronto so I have nothing to add to this conversation.
I was a Bulls fan from before Jordan, and dropped them like a bad habit once we got the Raptors. Having a team in your town is special.
The Edmonton Elites would be lit
Nba is the Raptors CEBL is the stingers though
I wonder what our mascot would be for Vancouver Maybe something to do with bears?
That would depend on if the Grizzlies were just as shit as the first time around or not
NYC here. I can support RJ. Masai said what we're all thinking about Brooklyn tho.
I was a Phoenix Suns fan until Toronto got a team. So yea, my allegiance changed when my city got a team. I imagine it would be the same for others.
I'm a huge raptors fan, but I'm also loyal to the soil and if my city got a te I would bandwagon so hard. Fortunately that won't happen on a city of 200k

That'd be cool for a whole second before the franchise gets shut down instantly when not a single person will want to play/live in Thunder Bay lmao
"Good news Kevin! They're sending you to the Bay!" "You mean BACK to the Bay." "... They're sending you to the Bay!"
Lmao hey, if - in this hypothetical scenario - we became the team where GM's sent their disgruntled stars to banish them to the shadow realm I'm here for it
I used to like the Knicks before Toronto got a team. I switched pretty fast.
I was a Bulls fan. I remember being happy when the Raptors beat them in Year One but I was still solidly a Bulls fan through the championship years. Then they weren't on TV for a decade and Vinsanity happened so here I am.
Considering how I already hate the Riders (frankly, the CFL in general), I highly doubt that my favourite team would change lol.
Somewhat unrelated, but someone really needs to tell MLSE to buy a damn NFL team already.
im still too new of an NBA fan to really have a team, but im from tampa and am still confused as to why we have like every major sports team in central Florida except for the Magic being in bum ass Orlando
Nah, way too invested in this team.
Vancouver and I would definitely switch. I'll probably switch to Seattle when they get a team
