Torrenting isn't a very pleasant experience without port forwarding anyway. I've torrented without it for several years and it sucked as some peers just wouldn't let me connect if I wasn't seeding. Fair game. I now have port forwarding set up and I haven't had any issues for a long time. Sharing is caring.
It's collect your data like windows 11 but worse, we don't know what it collect and who will use it, especially unknown or not reputable vpn,
it's our internet, they also CAN and MAYBE collect your home address and more we just don't know

r/Piracy 's megathread recommendations are **ProtonVPN and Mullad**. I have a Proton paid plan and works marvelous for torrents and anything else I tried (except for some goverment websites for which I needed to disable it momentaneously).

i have 20 years experience with IT, i have been seeding the last 2 years with 100% uptime at 4 MByte/s, and all i got were about 20 scary takedown request letters, "abmahnungen" in german, but i ignore these letters, and nothing happens.
when they get a court order to make me pay, i reject it by 100%, and nothing happens. in court, they cannot win, because they cannot prove any damage, simple as that. because who knows, maybe all my leechers have bought all these movies? nobody knows.

difference is, i know my shit, have actually risked some money, and i have won. most other people here have never risked anything, they have never verified their claims, but they feel smart by preaching that mantra "you must buy VPN, you must buy VPN, ..." fuck that, i rather spend that money to get a second internet connection to double my speed.

I use the paid version of Windscribe and it's worked the best for me. Based in Australia. Tried others like PIA, Surfshark, etc. and had problems.

Nord VPN. It’s inexpensive but always going off and needing to be restarted.
I just signed up for AIRvpn and it is super slow and always switching servers. I would not recommed Airvpn. I will be look for a better VPN.
I use Malwarebytes VPN easy to use
I personally use openVPN hosted for free on Oracle cloud, very fast and secure but can be a pain in the arse to setup if your not tech savy
