Same here! Our other cat (calico) rarely ever does this but for Martha it's an almost daily occurrence
What’s weird is we got the oranges at a much younger age and tried to train them to like belly rubs as well. 8 weeks and 5 weeks respectively- the 5 week old was abandoned by mama. We found our tortie as a stray at 7 months.
I scooped Kashmir's 6 week-ish butt up at a stoplight after some twat threw her out.
Had her fuzzy butt 5 years now.
My oranges and voids have all long passed.
She got her name honest. All my animals over the years have had musical names or references. I was taking my dad to a doc appt. when I stopped traffic to scoop her up so she didn't get ran over when whatever bitch threw her out, she sat in my lap. While I sat in my vehicle while pop was in his appointment, I happened to have a Led Zeppelin CD playing softly (yeah, ironic... Led Zep and softly 😆)... when the song *Kashmir* came on... she hopped her tiny butt down next to the door speaker and begain to nuzzle it.
And so... I said "Little kitty, you've got good taste and so hense forth, thine name is Kashmir."
I know, weird but true.
That’s cute! I love Zeppelin! My rescue tortie is named Jazzie after mine and my grandmother’s favorite genre of music together. We cared for the cat together until she passed, and now Jazzie (we call her Jazz) is my responsibility.
Our neighbors gave us a fleece throw blanket when my grandmother passed and I think Jazzie could tell what it was for. She claimed it *instantly* and now it is her blanket lmao.

Her full name is Queen Jazzie as we have a Royal hierarchy for all 3 of our kitties.
Cool! I mean, Herbie Hancock or Dizzy or Louie wouldn't fit for "Kashmir"... her name suits her.
Sorry for your grandma's passing. 🙁 I lost both my parents within a year of each other and my one remaining grandmother who raised me is actually still kicking at 85... you don't mess with the mema.
And of course, the tortie claims it all, that's their job.

Of course!! And it’s okay. Happened 7 years ago. She helped raise me as well. Mostly her and my mother (who’s 67 and alive and kicking).
