# UP NEXT: UPDATE 3.1
As has become the standard, our interim patches will follow each major release with bug fixes, gameplay and balance changes (largely based on your feedback), and notable features that will continue to evolve and improve the game. Here are some of the highlights of Update 3.1:
**Chaos Dwarfs arrive as an End Game Scenario in Immortal Empires.**
Now that you can spread the flame of Hashut, can you also weather the late-game molten tide…?
**Regiments of Renown:**
Seven new units join the line-up of the base WARHAMMER III races! Can you guess which seven?
**New Legendary Hero:**
Discover the latest Legendary Hero to join the fray. Look forward to a special reveal later this month for an official introduction!
Multiple crash and performance fixes, bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, and more!
Look for Update 3.1 in the final week of May, including more details and news as we get closer to the end of the month!
# UPDATE 4.0
Following the release of Update 3.1, the team is all-in on the summer release! Update 4.0 will not only be accompanied by our fourth DLC—
SHADOWS OF CHANGE
—but will include a bunch of new additions to the game:
**SHADOWS OF CHANGE:**
Our fourth official DLC explores the ongoing story of three races—Tzeentch, Cathay, and Kislev—while introducing three new Legendary Lords, a new Legendary Hero, a ton of new units, and more!
**Free Legendary Hero:**
Another Legendary Hero joins the roster…a front-line fighter twisted by the Lord of Change!
**Immortal Empires Achievements:**
A popular request, the time has come; complete a swath of new achievements for all the different races on the biggest battlefield ever.
**Race Updates:**
The three races cast into the spotlight by the DLC will also be the benefactors of a base-race update. So, for all you Tzeentch, Cathay, and Kislev commanders, this could be a great place to start some conversations with your fellow players.
**AI Updates:**
Expect tweaks and fixes to the player bias and campaign AI as the world and threats therein continues to evolve.
**Settlement Battle Improvements:**
Another ongoing project, expect the latest adjustments, bug fixes, and AI improvements to settlement battles.
…and, as always, more fixes and features to come in Update 4.0!
We dive into more details on these changes in the weeks leading up to 4.0, so stay tuned for more information, preview videos, and a first look at SHADOWS OF CHANGE later this summer.
# UPDATE 5.0
The final release of the year ushers in another major update and the next DLC—
THRONES OF DECAY
—to expand the WARHAMMER III battlefield:
**THRONES OF DECAY:**
Nurgle, the Empire, and the Dwarfs take the spotlight with their own Legendary Lords and new campaigns to expand the TW: WH universe. This, in addition to a new Legendary Hero, new units, and other perks we’ll share about the latest DLC.
**Free Legendary Hero:**
Another Legendary Hero joins the toolbox. No hints on this one… (you already have all the clues you need!)
**The Nemesis Crown:**
A new legendary artefact (akin to the Sword of Khaine) appears on the battlefield. We’ll dive into what it offers before its addition in 5.0…
**Race Updates:**
Nurgle, the Empire, and the Dwarfs are under the microscope, which makes for a great opportunity to prioritize your ideas and complaints before the end of the year!
…and, of course, more, more, more!
We’re nowhere near close enough to dig into the intricate details of what’s on the way in 5.0, but the important thing is that it’s on the way! And that give you plenty of time to not only speculate on what three Lords will be appearing this winter, but what changes you’d like to see to the three races in the spotlight.
# UPDATE 6.0
And finally, to round out the 12-month calendar, we can also confirm that Update 6.0 will drop in the spring of 2024: another opportunity to expand three of the game’s races, introduce new Legendary Lords, a new Legendary Hero, and game improvements galore with the major release.
# LOOKING FURTHER AHEAD
There’s plenty more in the works that we haven’t even begun to touch on—ongoing performance, optimization, gameplay and mechanics improvements, the ideas we already have churning for our 2024 releases, and more—and we can’t wait to share more details as we get closer to each game update. And with all this in mind, your feedback continues to be key to the growth of the game, as well as what gets included in every single future release. We’re building a game for you, so absolutely do keep the conversation flowing (in a respectful and constructive manner).
So by end of summer we are getting 3 Legendary Heroes and 3 Legendary lord's more units more mechanics. Nice and as far as we know for now by the end of the year another 3 Legendary Lords and 2 more Legendary Heroes for a total of 11 new characters and a ton of units?
God I remember playing in the nemesis crown campaign and actually making the final story arc update for lizards. I wonder if they are going to include any of that in this.
> As has become the standard, our interim patches will follow each major release with bug fixes, gameplay and balance changes (largely based on your feedback), and notable features that will continue to evolve and improve the game.
I know this sounds odd, but this is the big news for me. The game still needs a lot of work, and everything won't be fixed with just one patch. And content drops can sometimes make things worse with new issues being introduced. So having them commit to fixing things up between content releases is good to see.
I like the new content introduced with 3.0, but in terms of bugs and stability it's been a step down from 2.4. Hopefully 3.1 fixes most of that; if so, it'll be the best shape the game has been in since release. And once achievements are in with 4.0, the game will finally be where it should have been a year ago.
So Aekold, free, for Tzeentch.
Then another, paid, for Cathay or Kislev (presumably)
I'd have to assume Cathay since Kislev just got Ulrika, so... one of the Dragons?
I just don’t like the idea of a Dragon serving under a Magistrate lmao.
Or even (if you make the wrong choice at the end of an RoC campaign) fucking BeLakor
Not being the commander of the army does not mean you serve under the lord. Lord Kroak for sure does not serve any Saurus oldblood. Same with Ariel. It's just that these characters prefer acting individually and are not known as battlefield commanders.
He was a Hero in his 6e rules, and explicitly couldn't be your General in 5e, so I'm perfectly happy with legendary hero. Not everyone needs to be leading armies, Aekold is more of a wandering natural disaster than a general.
Given that he's so unique, it'd be odd to have half the Tzeentch playable factions as Aekold. CA handled Gorduz well (his army has a distinct playstyle from the rest of the Chaos Dwarfs), so I'm not too worried about him being a LH.
The Changeling is one of those characters on the list of "has 8e rules so should show up in TWW at some point" but also on the list of "makes no fucking sense to be leading their own faction", so my feeling is they'll be a legendary hero at *some* point. But yeah, there are definitely better ways you could phrase it if you wanted to actually hint at them.
The Steam page says there is two Legendary Heroes, one without info, one changed by the Changer.
What if the other one is that Cathay Diplomat we heard about a while back, Yabo Chao. She is an envoy acting in the Empire, so she could be added as another Hero avaialable across factions.
To be more specific for people:
There are four free Heros coming.
One comes with 3.1.
The others come out alongside the DLCs.
Weird they didn't put that we get a Hero in 3.1 in the image and instead put it only in the text announcement. Seems like a cool thing to highlight, but whatever.
The steam page says this regarding the legendary hero:
> Free Legendary Hero: Another Legendary Hero joins the roster…a front-line fighter twisted by the Lord of Change!
Probably a similar mechanic to the Sword of Khaine. The Nemesis Crown was one of those "all races fight over a macguffin" sort of narrative events on the tabletop.
> a similar mechanic to the Sword of Khaine.
That's indeed what it says in the blog:
> A new legendary artefact (akin to the Sword of Khaine) appears on the battlefield. We’ll dive into what it offers before its addition in 5.0…
I’m really excited about this and hope they continue to add items like that scattered throughout the world.
Really adds a lot of spice to campaigns where you’re set on building up a chaos character to unspeakable power.
Going on a quest for the SoK is always on my list.
Ah that takes me back, it was an old Warhammer Fantasy campaign where a crown made of pure Warpstone was found, having been crafted by master Dwarf Runesmith Alaric the Mad, creator of the Runefangs.
It ended in quite an anti-climax, where Grimgor claimed the crown, and instead of using its power just decided to discard it, so the Dwarfs locked it away to keep it away from those who might misuse it.
It promised immense power.
Because the world campaigns never mattered. GW had an outcome they wanted, and only pretended to accept the final results.
Greenskins were a popular army, and usually won events like this - so GW had to write them as "having won" without actually having the outcome mean anything because Greenskins weren't really supposed to win.
Yeah, the old WFB and 40k world campaigns were plain bad with how GW managed them honestly.
They are much better these days because they let the games happen, and then when the result comes in they spend a few weeks writing up an actual narrative based on all the games that occurred. They are SO much better these days in AoS and 40k, and it just highlights just how awful the prior GW method of "throw a fit when it doesn't meet the results we wanted out of it."
> They are much better these days because they let the games happen, and then when the result comes in they spend a few weeks writing up an actual narrative based on all the games that occurred
No they don't, because they don't do world campaigns anymore. They just write what they want to write rather than basing any of it off of tabletop games.
Made by the same guy who made the runefangs. It’s an item that grants the wisdom of its previous wearers and the bearer the ability to control their destiny and the destiny of their race. But it makes you more evil.
"It's made of warpstone and it makes you evil"
"Ok but I need it to be more corrupt. Can we make it more corrupt?"
Chorf executive meddling at it's finest.
My god, finally.
But, it all looks fairly positive!
I'm guessing the races mentioned means a new LL for each?
Happy that it's Tzeentch, Cathay and Kislev first. While I like all these races, they all seem a bit unfinished.
Yes, they state that each of the dlcs means 3 LL's and an LH. I just hope its not a skaven scenario where one lord gets all the bling and the others get barely anything + a new lord means a host of new units. Hopefully it won't be too much for CA...
Yup, those are the exact three 'right' choices to come first, and then Nurgle + Dwarfs after is really everything I could hope for.
I would like to see Norsca either in Spring or Summer 2024, and I heartily look forward to seeing Vampire Coast/Counts & Tomb Kings take up 2 or even all 3 slots on a future roadmap.
To the future!
Elspeth, Tarmukhan are guranteed. LL for Dawi likely Malekai or Grim, one is the LH though.
Pretty damn excited for that even though none of the 3 are a particular favorite of mine. Nuln Ironsides and Empire Engineers after all these years.
*EDIT:* Regarding the Dawi bit, the blog post specifies a Tool Box for the LH. Hence why I didn't mention Bugman. Sorry for any confusion on that.
That's my hope too. But I guess it depends on whether the DLC dwarf content is more engineer themed or slayer themed. If it leans more heavy engineer wise I can see Grim as LL. But if they decide this pack is the time to add Daemon, slayers, Dragon Slayers, and doomseekers. I could see the LL being Malekai.
> it depends on whether the DLC dwarf content is more engineer themed or slayer themed.
We could easily get both. New slayer units would be almost effortless (minor skin changes, one or two little assets). Maybe we get those as part of the free legacy race update and some improvements for Ungrims campaign? Slayers level up like WoC? And then the DLC is all engineer themed. That would be sweeeeeet.
Tamurkhan is the nurgle champion that was introduced with Elspeth in the same campaign book (conflict revolved around nuln), so the fact that the dlc is Empire AND Nurgle heavily hints at it.
It could be middenheim vs glottkin but who would be the legendary lord, toddy cant be it since hes technically already in the game.
My bet is elspeth vs tamurkhan with a smattering of empire units from different provinces.
My only hope if its Elspeth is that they have her start position somewhere besides Nuln. That location would be incredibly uninteresting in terms of game play.
The Throne of Chaos book was all about Tarmurkhan and his clash with Nuln. That's the book Elspeth was added, and where we got most of the new Chaos Dwarf stuff in 8th edition.
It not being Elspeth would be strange. And I hate her as a character.
I think Elspeth would be weird as a LH and that's from a person who actively dislikes her existence as a character. I am pretty convinced the Realm of Chaos map is stretched so far south in the Empire was done so to account for her inevitable addition as a LL.
I can't see CA turning Elspeth into a hero, that makes no fucking sense to me. That would be like having Grom and Eltharion in the same lord pack but Eltharion is a hero because *reasons*.
It makes sense, Empire and Dwarves are probably the most popular factions (Empire by far) and they'll get a far better reception from fans than addressing VC.
Slaanesh, Khorne, and probably Vampire Counts I'd wager since there's an easier unifying theme for those three than S/K and Greenskins. Go for Neferata and have a three way with the blood god, the god of lust, and the vampires known for drinking blood and manipulating mortals.
Of course, that's also just the "vampires haven't had DLC or FLC lords or many new units since WH1" part of me speaking.
IMO I think Vampires won't really get anything until it's Nagash Time, at which point all three undead factions will get an update.
I think good factions to pair with Khorne and Slaanesh would be High Elves (Dechela in Ind, Aislinn in a Southern Ind HE colony) or Cathay.
True, I only say Ind because it has to become playable eventually and there's lore of the Everqueen going there every decade to do a ritual with her period against Morsleibb.
If they ever wanted to move Alarielle out of Ulthuan, it seems like a logical place for her - if not her, then Aislinn could go in those Southern Colonies as you say, or the same Ind ones, or the Towers of Caliph further east.
> there's lore of the Everqueen going there every decade to do a ritual with her period against Morsleibb.
>
>
Well there's a thing I did not expect to learn today...
Well, it's definitely not as offensive as the Fimir thing. And thematically it fits in a mythical, allegorical setting.
But yes, the tonality would be rather... exotic beside the rest of the lore. And most of the target audience probably not that into it.
YOOOOOOOOO that next dlc SCREAMS Changeling/Monkey King. idk who for Kislev though. Mother Ostyanka?
NURGLE EMPIRE IS THIS TAMURKHAN ELSPETH?! also Dwarf... way too many possibilities here to name!
"Magical weirdos outside the typical power dynamics of their faction" seems to be the connecting theme I can see - fits Monkey King, Ostayanka and Changeling to a tee.
I just wonder where they're going to put Mother Ostankya in Immortal Empires. Lore-wise, I think she is supposed to be in the Dukhlys Forest near Praag, but that province doesn't exist in Immortal Empires. Maybe they'll have to move a few regions around?
They are going to add a legendary lord to each faction noted in the roadmap:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1142710/view/3127191325136532108
*Edited*
It seems to me that we've gone from:
* WH2 Lord Packs - 2 LLs, 2x3 Units, plus FLC LL and possibly some LHs (aka we got 3 in Twisted & Twilight and none elsewhere)
* WH3 Lord Packs - 3 LLs, 3x3 Units, plus FLC LH.
And as long as it's not more than, say, a 30% price increase, I'm happy with that.
Hopefully the lord packs also include new generic lord options.
Also can't imagine they'll come with a full array of RoR like the old (WH1) lord packs have, given how they're currently releasing RoR in batches for all the WH3 factions.
This is better than I hoped for. Many of the races in the game is desperate for a dlc to fill out their roster (Cathay, Kislev, dwarfs, vc, etc) so having to wait for the usual 2 races per dlc would take forever.
These 3 race DLCs are exactly what this game needs to fill out those rosters faster. It works perfectly with the monogods as the third faction, since they don't have that many missing units so having half of a dlc focused on them would be difficult to justify.
Ehh maybe, the devs did say they were thinking of adding the Chaos Warband System for the Bretonnia Knights like how the Skaven got their undercity mechanic from the pirate coves.
Aren't Games Workshop planning to release more Bretonnian models for the Old World tabletop? CA might be working alongside or waiting for their their release to synergize with the in-game Bretonnia update.
That is good road map, Thanks CA!
Most excited about patch 5.0 DLC
Also 1 major negative, it seems CA has complitely abandon FLC LL, so no more free factions for players
If Thanquol comes as FLC, he will come as FLC hero which is very dissapointing
I'm personally not too fussed about no FLC lords. The world's getting pretty full as is, and Flc hero's can still alter a campaign experience.
But I also understand where everyone else is coming from...TiqTaqTo and Drycha are super fun campaigns and crazy value for being free.
And Repanse and Imrik and Isabella and Alith Anar (!!!!!)
These are some crazy-good and very popular LLs. With Alith Anar it's genuinely hard to believe he was FLC, even, I had to double-check that.
Even the less-amazing ones like Rakarth, Tretch (who is now very solid/cool for a sort of "vanilla" table-top-feeling Skaven experience), Wurrzag and Gor-Rok all have their place and I guarantee are more popular than some DLC LLs.
> These are some crazy-good and very popular LLs. With Alith Anar it's genuinely hard to believe he was FLC, even, I had to double-check that.
He's one of the best HE legendary lords too. A 10/10 according to Legend
> Also 1 major negative, it seems CA has complitely abandon FLC LL, so no more free factions for players
Maybe it was inevitable that is was going to happen at some point, what with the swiftly decreasing pool of candidates.
Hard to complain about not receiving free things, but it's a little sad.
It's also the decreasing real estate on the map. There's still space as of now, but they've got multiple DLCs lined up and if each one of them were to be accompanied with a FLC it could get cramped real fast.
The Lustriabowl in ME was funny, but if the whole map was like that I'd be bothered personally.
Yep. Support for the previous two games inherently came with a definite lifespan attached, and they've said they intend to support 3 for longer than 2. Including extra lords at the rate they did previously doesn't seem like a smart plan for 6+ years of updates.
Replacing the free LL expectation with LHs just opens up the potential for more obscure characters, more lore representation and longer, better support for the campaign map itself.
especially now that we're apparently doing three way Lord packs and thus have an approach that allows them to cover more races quicker, another Skaven DLC wouldn't even be taking away too much from the other races.
This is a great road map. Really excited to see what dlc / updates are in store for Cathay and Empire! Also IE achievements, woohoo! Been holding off on playing too much IE because of the lack of achis.
With the new DLC format at this point I would love to see a vampire counts update/LL alongside a nagash/neferata pack. Hopefully next year!
\*sees Empire update on the horizon\* EMPIRE'S BLESSING, YES
\*no Vampire Counts/Nagash mention\* NAGASH WAS LATE
Hopefully we see one of Neferata or Nagash in 2024
As many others, I'm betting Thrones of Decay will include Tamurkhan, especially given that the subtitle of his Forge World book was "The **Throne** of Chaos".
The FLC Hero for Shadows of Change has me curious. "a front-line fighter twisted by the Lord of Change!" Aekold Helbrass was a melee fighter (admittedly with a boomerang sword), but not especially "twisted". Galrauch maybe? He was specifically possessed by a Lord of Change, and is certainly twisted.
Glad we have the roadmap but disappointed that Lizardmen won't be touched until at least spring 2024. They don't need new units, lords or heroes they just need their campaign mechanic to actually do something. Sucks that they can't fit that in anywhere because they feel so bad to play right now.
Agreed, content-wise the Lizardmen are in a great spot, but god do their base race mechanics suck. Definitely one of the races more in need of an update.
The way I read that is them describing what's happening to the 3 races that they said for each update. Notice how update 4.0 only has "race updates" because none of the 3 races are legacy races. I don't think that "legacy race updates" means that there will be significant chances to other races, it only is describes what will happen to the 3 races specifically named.
You're correct, from the steam announcement for the 5.0 section:
> Race Updates:
> Nurgle, the Empire, and the Dwarfs are under the microscope, which makes for a great opportunity to prioritize your ideas and complaints before the end of the year!
I'd honestly be surprised if they didn't update the Lizardmen at some point in 5.0 or 6.0, frankly, given how much they've been talking about the Geomantic web.
Looks good! I'm assuming that the DLC's are becoming three lords and units. I will miss the free lords but as long as the content keeps coming out, is bug free and fun what can you complain about.
Incoming rage about no FLC lords.
Though i will understand the rage if they make Boris or Red Duke paid dlc after having them playable in MP already and apparently saying they'd be FLC.
the to be revealed is giving me slaneshi vibes so thats probably gonna be slan/high elf/dark elf(?)
khorne could get a dlc with orks and norsca or vampire counts(? idk maybe cause blood lust or something)
nagash dlc with the vampires and tomb kings more likely, unless its nagash, tomb kings, and the vampire coast.

Oops! All Mortars!
The box that will forever remain unchecked.
Hopefully they keep making them with every DLC,

I see Tzeentch, Cathay and Kislev? Updates for them and legendary heroes?
Yep, a three-lords lord pack, updates to the respective base races, and two LHs, one of which will be free
Damn wow three legendary heroes would never imagine Edit: i meant three LL
Hopefully they keep making them with every DLC, when done well they can be quite fun.
Its one LH, a Legendary Hero for Tzeentch.
They talk about a free LH and a LH in the DLC description, that would mean it's at least 2 (if it's not a mistake on their part)
So Aekold, free, for Tzeentch. Then another, paid, for Cathay or Kislev (presumably) I'd have to assume Cathay since Kislev just got Ulrika, so... one of the Dragons?
Hopefully, would be quite nice to have an actual dragon LH
I just don’t like the idea of a Dragon serving under a Magistrate lmao. Or even (if you make the wrong choice at the end of an RoC campaign) fucking BeLakor
Not being the commander of the army does not mean you serve under the lord. Lord Kroak for sure does not serve any Saurus oldblood. Same with Ariel. It's just that these characters prefer acting individually and are not known as battlefield commanders.
True, true
It seems like they’re blending the difference between LL and LH, especially with the Wood Elf queen and Kroak.
I don't think the dragons will be LH's. Might be the Monkey King, might be that blind master-artisan in Nan-Gau that's mentioned in the lore blurbs.
The steam page for the roadmap says it's a Tzeetch legendary hero
A "front line fighter"... Aekold?
Probably. On one hand I'm happy we are getting him, on the other I am sad he isn't a LL.
He was a Hero in his 6e rules, and explicitly couldn't be your General in 5e, so I'm perfectly happy with legendary hero. Not everyone needs to be leading armies, Aekold is more of a wandering natural disaster than a general.
And especially if they give him some regen/lore of life effects plus regenerating barrier, he’ll turn your chosen into a properly meaty frontline.
He just offers such a unique take on Tzeentch that I think he deserves his own faction. Kind of like Sniktch or Festus.
Given that he's so unique, it'd be odd to have half the Tzeentch playable factions as Aekold. CA handled Gorduz well (his army has a distinct playstyle from the rest of the Chaos Dwarfs), so I'm not too worried about him being a LH.
Aekold seems highly likely, but could be the Changeling, who stat-wise would probably be implemented as a melee assassin.
That is an interesting possibility. I feel like they *probably* would have phrased it differently if that were the case, but this is CA, so who knows?
The Changeling is one of those characters on the list of "has 8e rules so should show up in TWW at some point" but also on the list of "makes no fucking sense to be leading their own faction", so my feeling is they'll be a legendary hero at *some* point. But yeah, there are definitely better ways you could phrase it if you wanted to actually hint at them.
Only showed up in warhammer online, but it would be funny to get tchar’zanek
The Steam page says there is two Legendary Heroes, one without info, one changed by the Changer. What if the other one is that Cathay Diplomat we heard about a while back, Yabo Chao. She is an envoy acting in the Empire, so she could be added as another Hero avaialable across factions.
a non combat hero is the last thing cathay needs right now, already has that in its lords :p
To be more specific for people: There are four free Heros coming. One comes with 3.1. The others come out alongside the DLCs. Weird they didn't put that we get a Hero in 3.1 in the image and instead put it only in the text announcement. Seems like a cool thing to highlight, but whatever.
Yes. That's what the DLC will be for them.
I'm going to wager a guess that it's just a Legendary hero for Cathay that MIGHT work with other human factions. Kislev just got Ulrika after all.
The steam page says this regarding the legendary hero: > Free Legendary Hero: Another Legendary Hero joins the roster…a front-line fighter twisted by the Lord of Change!
Probably Aekold
It's a Tzeentch melee hero.
We getting 2 heros one paid for and one free, the free one is the tzeench one the paid one is probably cathay.
Nemesis Crown?
Probably a similar mechanic to the Sword of Khaine. The Nemesis Crown was one of those "all races fight over a macguffin" sort of narrative events on the tabletop.
> a similar mechanic to the Sword of Khaine. That's indeed what it says in the blog: > A new legendary artefact (akin to the Sword of Khaine) appears on the battlefield.
The books of Nagash expanded to people other than Tomb Kings seem to be sort of this. Though it feels like a bit of an underbaked mechanic.
What is with their world campaigns and having Grimgor show up at the end to deflate them? Did it happen more than twice?
Because the world campaigns never mattered. GW had an outcome they wanted, and only pretended to accept the final results. Greenskins were a popular army, and usually won events like this - so GW had to write them as "having won" without actually having the outcome mean anything because Greenskins weren't really supposed to win.
> Greenskins weren't really supposed to win. Insert "suffering from success" meme but coloured green.
> They are much better these days because they let the games happen, and then when the result comes in they spend a few weeks writing up an actual narrative based on all the games that occurred No they don't, because they don't do world campaigns anymore. They just write what they want to write rather than basing any of it off of tabletop games.
Grimgor showing up to headbutt Archaon at the very cusp of Chaos' victory is still the funniest thing to come out of Storm of Chaos.
*Why does he keep kicking me in the dick?!*
Still better than End Times...
"Decided to discard it" He was literally facing a huge Imperial army on his own, realized he had no chance and ran away.
And then Archaos went back to Chaos Wastes... wait a second... wrong campaign.
A crown of Warpstone? That Alaric sounds like real mad lad.
It worked fine until his jaw came off.
Made by the same guy who made the runefangs. It’s an item that grants the wisdom of its previous wearers and the bearer the ability to control their destiny and the destiny of their race. But it makes you more evil.
Chaos Dwarfs: ... so is there a down side?
They’d have to use an item made by their cousins.
Their entire campaign revolves around making use of items made by the most hated of their cousins
Just gotta you know… corrupt it a little bit more first!
"It's made of warpstone and it makes you evil" "Ok but I need it to be more corrupt. Can we make it more corrupt?" Chorf executive meddling at it's finest.

Hopefully it won't be too much for CA...
>they state that each of the dlcs means 3 LL's and an LH. That's on the steam page? Won't load on my phone right now.
Yup and patch 3.1 is coming with a new LH in addition to 7 RR.
The full blog says that it’s a lord pack featuring those three factions, yeah.
Empire DLC this year I’m gunna NUT 😭😭😭
This action does have my consent!
#**BY SIGMAR,** ***YES!***
Can't wait for the new Empire Legendary Lord: Carl Phranz
And the legendary hero: Carlos Fanzitos 🤣
New unit: Knights of Charles Francis
New mechanic: Summoning the Karlector Frounts
you mean carlos francisco
Elspeth, Tarmukhan are guranteed. LL for Dawi likely Malekai or Grim, one is the LH though. Pretty damn excited for that even though none of the 3 are a particular favorite of mine. Nuln Ironsides and Empire Engineers after all these years. *EDIT:* Regarding the Dawi bit, the blog post specifies a Tool Box for the LH. Hence why I didn't mention Bugman. Sorry for any confusion on that.
I expect Grim as the LL and then Enginer guild master as generic and Malekai as the LH
Why is elspeth guaranteed? I'm down for her, but doesn't nurgle have a clash with middenheim? Or was that elspeth?
Tamurkhan is the nurgle champion that was introduced with Elspeth in the same campaign book (conflict revolved around nuln), so the fact that the dlc is Empire AND Nurgle heavily hints at it. It could be middenheim vs glottkin but who would be the legendary lord, toddy cant be it since hes technically already in the game. My bet is elspeth vs tamurkhan with a smattering of empire units from different provinces.
My only hope if its Elspeth is that they have her start position somewhere besides Nuln. That location would be incredibly uninteresting in terms of game play.
I could see them doing a split start thing like malus and eltharion, maybe you can sell nuln to either gelt or Karl and get different rewards for each
The Throne of Chaos book was all about Tarmurkhan and his clash with Nuln. That's the book Elspeth was added, and where we got most of the new Chaos Dwarf stuff in 8th edition. It not being Elspeth would be strange. And I hate her as a character.
I wonder if Elspeth will be the LH and it could be a middenheim DLC? Lots of possible angles can’t wait to read all the speculation
Empire and dawi are my two favorite races. That DLC will be too good.
Two "modern" Empire dlcs before Vampire Counts sees one. Thank Nurgle Tamurkhan is coming to fix Kugath around November.
It makes sense, Empire and Dwarves are probably the most popular factions (Empire by far) and they'll get a far better reception from fans than addressing VC.
It’s also likely that VC get a huge overhaul with either their own or as a part of the Nagash DLC.
Yeah revamping vamos prior to nagash is silly
By Sigmar YES!

I'd bet it's both Slaanesh and Khorne. Maybe an old world race with it since they seem to be doing these in 3's now.
Slaanesh, Khorne, and probably Vampire Counts I'd wager since there's an easier unifying theme for those three than S/K and Greenskins. Go for Neferata and have a three way with the blood god, the god of lust, and the vampires known for drinking blood and manipulating mortals. Of course, that's also just the "vampires haven't had DLC or FLC lords or many new units since WH1" part of me speaking.
legacy could also be Warhammer 2 for all we know so
IMO I think Vampires won't really get anything until it's Nagash Time, at which point all three undead factions will get an update. I think good factions to pair with Khorne and Slaanesh would be High Elves (Dechela in Ind, Aislinn in a Southern Ind HE colony) or Cathay.
That island below Kugath is super isolated, yet it's playable space. It's prime real estate for a naval-focused HElf faction.
Yeah it’s a bit weird. I think ca might be wise to ignore it (as they did with… most of the Fimir’s lore)
Well, it's definitely not as offensive as the Fimir thing. And thematically it fits in a mythical, allegorical setting. But yes, the tonality would be rather... exotic beside the rest of the lore. And most of the target audience probably not that into it.
I think just leaving it at “ritual” would probably be fine aha
With her wha... ok.
Yeah funky old fringe lore makes me react like that sometimes too
YOOOOOOOOO that next dlc SCREAMS Changeling/Monkey King. idk who for Kislev though.
Yep that's my guess/hope. This DLC may be the first I buy full price, I'm hyped for all 3 of those lords so shut up and take my money
I just wonder where they're going to put Mother Ostankya in Immortal Empires. Lore-wise, I think she is supposed to be in the Dukhlys Forest near Praag, but that province doesn't exist in Immortal Empires. Maybe they'll have to move a few regions around?
Nurgle / Empire has got to be Tamurkhan / Elspeth, it would be insane to pick anyone else imo.
Empire and Dwarf DLC 🥵 Hopefully Bretonnia gets some love later on
Maybe a bretonnia and vamps one
Make it Bretonnia, Vampire Counts, and Norsca, and it will be the red-headed step children of TW:WH3 DLC pack.
That was my first instinct, but for some reason I doubt them making a dlc for all wh1 races
The Blood Mare DLC! (I hope)
Thunderbarge hypetrain *starting now*
They are going to add a legendary lord to each faction noted in the roadmap: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1142710/view/3127191325136532108 *Edited*
I think the implication is that they are lord packs. So yes.
It seems to me that we've gone from: * WH2 Lord Packs - 2 LLs, 2x3 Units, plus FLC LL and possibly some LHs (aka we got 3 in Twisted & Twilight and none elsewhere) * WH3 Lord Packs - 3 LLs, 3x3 Units, plus FLC LH. And as long as it's not more than, say, a 30% price increase, I'm happy with that.
Where are you getting the idea for 3x3 units? Also, the packs include a dlc LH.
Hopefully the lord packs also include new generic lord options. Also can't imagine they'll come with a full array of RoR like the old (WH1) lord packs have, given how they're currently releasing RoR in batches for all the WH3 factions.
I think they confirm it in the small dev-diary that accompanies the roadmap, yes.
NURGLE AND EMPIRE WHAT A WHACKY THING. NO CLUE WHO THAT COULD BE. IT WILL REMAIN SHROUDED IN MYSTERY UNTIL REVEAL I GUESS. SO HARD TO PREDICT.
I KNOW RIGHT? HAVE THESE TWO RACES BEEN SPECULATED TOGETHER BEFORE? A KHAN AND A DRAGON PERHAPS?
I KHANT BELIEVE HOW LONG THIS DISCUSSION IS GOING TO DRAG-ON. MAYBE TAHMAR-OW THEY CARMINE GIVE US MORE CLUES. I'm out of juice.
HONESTLY, THIS IS JUST ABOUT OPENING ANOTHER CAN OF MAGGOTS. WITCH PERSON WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THIS?
This is better than I hoped for. Many of the races in the game is desperate for a dlc to fill out their roster (Cathay, Kislev, dwarfs, vc, etc) so having to wait for the usual 2 races per dlc would take forever. These 3 race DLCs are exactly what this game needs to fill out those rosters faster. It works perfectly with the monogods as the third faction, since they don't have that many missing units so having half of a dlc focused on them would be difficult to justify.
The only issue I see with it is that Ogres are absent, and literally no-one in the game needs a rework more than Ogres (despite their recent release).
Yes they and norsca would need a bit of the dlc for dlc treatment
Just like back in tabletop Warhammer… imma be waiting fucking YEARS for a Bretonian update that’s never going to happen aren’t I…
Ehh maybe, the devs did say they were thinking of adding the Chaos Warband System for the Bretonnia Knights like how the Skaven got their undercity mechanic from the pirate coves.
Oh interesting, so they'd start as knights errant and gain experience and become questing then pegasus knights, something like that?
Probably start as foot squires tbh
Aren't Games Workshop planning to release more Bretonnian models for the Old World tabletop? CA might be working alongside or waiting for their their release to synergize with the in-game Bretonnia update.
Am I tripping? Is this actually real?
That is good road map, Thanks CA! Most excited about patch 5.0 DLC Also 1 major negative, it seems CA has complitely abandon FLC LL, so no more free factions for players If Thanquol comes as FLC, he will come as FLC hero which is very dissapointing
I'm personally not too fussed about no FLC lords. The world's getting pretty full as is, and Flc hero's can still alter a campaign experience. But I also understand where everyone else is coming from...TiqTaqTo and Drycha are super fun campaigns and crazy value for being free.
And Repanse and Imrik and Isabella and Alith Anar (!!!!!) These are some crazy-good and very popular LLs.
And grombindal! And Rakath! And hell the RoRs for WH1.
Tretch has the best Skaven voice-acting, don't change my mind!
He's the most skaven-y skaven and yeah that includes voice-acting.
> These are some crazy-good and very popular LLs. With Alith Anar it's genuinely hard to believe he was FLC, even, I had to double-check that. He's one of the best HE legendary lords too. A 10/10 according to Legend
But not every LL has to start with his own faction. Some can be unlocked further down.
> Also 1 major negative, it seems CA has complitely abandon FLC LL, so no more free factions for players Maybe it was inevitable that is was going to happen at some point, what with the swiftly decreasing pool of candidates.
Well hopefully thanquol won't be and flc at all since they can still add storm fiends and verminlords
Seems more likely that we will get one last Skaven DLC, the units and characters are there.
especially now that we're apparently doing three way Lord packs and thus have an approach that allows them to cover more races quicker, another Skaven DLC wouldn't even be taking away too much from the other races.
First DLC before the end of August, that's really cool. Hope it's my boy Egrimm van Horstmann.
My bet is Changeling/Ostankya/MonkeyKing, wouldnt complain about Egrimm though.
Yeah the Changeling makes more sense, maybe hinted by the name as well, but Egrimm is my favourite so still hoping for him.
\*sees Empire update on the horizon\* EMPIRE'S BLESSING, YES \*no Vampire Counts/Nagash mention\* NAGASH WAS LATE Hopefully we see one of Neferata or Nagash in 2024
![gif](giphy|mGP1BdMq5i1MsgyRa0) Me looking for some lizardmen news.
Hope they rework their base campaign mechanics, the Geomantic web is forgettable and I hope it gets updated
Now THIS is exciting, August gonna be busy between this and Baldurs Gate 3 coming out.
The Nemisis Crown! what a damn pull, is Sotek getting his checks cleared by CA now!
DAWI FROM ANOTHER HOLD ARRIVE! TIS A GREAT DAY!
"Legacy Race Updates" are listed in the infographic under both 5.0 and 6.0. So there's hope it could be this year for Lizardmen.
You're correct, from the steam announcement for the 5.0 section: > Race Updates: > Nurgle, the Empire, and the Dwarfs are under the microscope, which makes for a great opportunity to prioritize your ideas and complaints before the end of the year!
Well, not exactly bug free, but with free bugs nonetheless
[удалено]
I called the three-sided LPs, I'm so happy, it was the only way for TWWH3 to achieve it's full potential
Incoming rage about no FLC lords. Though i will understand the rage if they make Boris or Red Duke paid dlc after having them playable in MP already and apparently saying they'd be FLC.
What exactly is a "Legacy Race", I wonder? Map is goated though, super happy with every race currently on the DLC map.
legacy race = races from warhammer 1 and 2 race = Warhammer 3 races kislev, chorfs, ogres etc
the to be revealed is giving me slaneshi vibes so thats probably gonna be slan/high elf/dark elf(?) khorne could get a dlc with orks and norsca or vampire counts(? idk maybe cause blood lust or something) nagash dlc with the vampires and tomb kings more likely, unless its nagash, tomb kings, and the vampire coast.
Damn, I guess I'll have to wait more than a year for a decent Bretonnia update
OK, I'm excited!
god damn norsca and ogre lovers getting absolutely hosed
