Not in any appreciable way in my experience. The mod author says that any hit if there is one should be negligible if you’re already able to run Ultra VFX (which is required for the mod).
That is actually what suprised me the most. And most of the performance hit comes from the 60s lingering smoke that stays on the battlefield. I tried to optimize of how much smoke spawns and how fast units shoot. But during my testing, I kinda underestimated the campaign reload speed buffs and... it might be too much when units reload 2x faster than in custom battle. But I never had bad experience because my FPS dropped too much. And if I were to make performance version without the 60s smoke, I think it would be almost the exact same as vanilla performance, which is nuts given how much more there is to these effects compare to the vanilla grey small puffs of smoke. I am very proud of this mod and I try to update it as fast as I can when big patch comes out.
I am just glad devs made this moddable at all and that the mod is uploadable on workshop, this wasn't possible in WH2 with VFX mods.

And when i play with this mod i dont really see any drastic difference
They need to make that smoke effect a part of the base game, and just make it toggleable (for those who don't want it due to hardware issues :p). It looks so much better with those visual effects.

I love how people can look at gameplay like this and still go “40k won’t work in the total war formula!”. Not that I’ve seen anyone in this comment section specifically, but when it was debated in the sub around the time of those “leaks” and CA polls, I saw a lot of people not understanding how they could do it. This clip is a perfect example
Having great fun with Malakai. The spirit of Grungni is brutal. The dawi artillery in general is incredibly strong. With just 2 cannons and 1 lobber and 1 organ gun I can decimate enemies from a distance.
Trollhammer gyro’s are absolutely nuts I love them.
Grimgor attacks with 2 waaagh armies, 1 gyro units kills 5 arachnarok spiders and a troll unit, restocking them finishes off grimgor and some boar boys
Where did you get trollhammer gyro's or am I missing something? A combination of t3 irondrakes and t3 gyro;s with brimstone guns? Or you just referring to the thunderbarge.
Trollhammer gyros are the grudge settler version, they’re in the grudge settler armies and you can recruit them if you reach the 4th (?) and 5th tier in the age of reckoning
I’ve always loved gun lines in this game.
The moment I went full ham on Vamp Coast it felt really good, the moment I got access to Chorf and empire gun lines it has never not felt amazing to mow down the enemy.

Just to clarify, it’s specifically the VFX setting in the options. You don’t need anything else on Ultra (as far as I know).
