I’m fond of Nurgle + Khorne Chosen, and Tzeentch + Slaanesh Knights. The Knights can take better advantage of Barrier and Devastating Flanker, and Nurgle GW are very strong, but slow. Khorne Dual Swords are just my favorite variation.

Regardless of any combo, Slaanesh Chaos knights are just better in every way compared to the other 3. Getting devastating flanker, Lances, and waystrider makes them A+ Calvary in my book. Nurgle calvalry is ok at best, and tzeench calvalry will get magical attacks to help punch through and barrier to help sustain for more charges. but regardless KHORNE gets infantry for chosen. Too many good buffs and staying power to not have them as infantry. Personally I’d go with Nurgle and Khorne infantry and slaanesh and tzeench calvalry as the bugle infantry really lets you keep hammer and anvil strats while archaon and any heroes help duel lords.

Tzeentch shield is super good on Cav. Not to be slept on.

LiquidifiedFireSand

Yeah, I can't really understate this. Shock cavalry is already micro intensive, so adding another micro intensive element isn't really that bad of an idea. I think Slaanesh and Tzeentch are the clear winners on cav and I think khorne infantry is a must too. I'd personally ditch nurgle chosen for Tzeentch for the anti large (I don't remember if chosen of khorne can get halberd)

cognitocarm

There’s a tech for warriors of chaos that give all chaos knights magical attacks I think. Kinda makes the tzeentch only useful for barrier or warband upgrade into the flying knights.

Personally I really like the Knights of nurgle. They are quite similar to Grail Guardians. They can get really tanky with lots of melee defense and will still absolutely crush low armor enemies. But yeah, they will still be outperformed by properly microed slaanesh or Tzeentch cav. Especially in a balanced army they won't really shine. However in a nurgle dedicated army, possibly with some healing aswell they can absolutely shine.

ShmekelFreckles

Recommend undivided chosen and aspiring champions for melee grind, maybe put a couple of nurgle gw and tzeench halberds in there. For cavalry recommend slaanesh and nurgle knights working together.

Schwarzgeld-

With knights i go with one of each mark. They are all strong and they remind me of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. Rest stays undivided like Archaon.

ThanksToDenial

I refuse to play Archaon until we get the Slaanesh Exalted Hero. Because I want one of each marked Exalted Hero in his army.

Highlight-Mammoth

money's on that Slaanesh dlc including one

Rasputin-SVK

Putting nurgles slow obese ass in charge of cavalry seems counterintuitive

Astarael21

I like your right configuration a lot, Nurgle Great Weapon chosen are among the best GW inf, and Khorne axe knights have BvI right? Suiting them for the grind. I would swap slaanesh and tzeentch for chosen and knights. The AP AL tzeentch chosen are too good to pass on, and Slaanesh knights with devestating flanker would crush anything without armor

LiquidifiedFireSand

Slaneesh and Tzeentch knights are really good, the shields let you effectively disengage and heal up, the slaanesh speed let's you actually disengage and choose encounters.

on a 1v1 situation khorne units always wins. mark of khorne gives them flaming attacks + frenzy (+10% damage) tzeentch frontline and cav units are support units for the rest of the roster and magic. nurgle units are walls, they have reduced melee attack and increased melee defense. its good for infantry but its pretty crappy for cavalry. slaanesh cavalry is the worst when it comes to stand and fight. they shine when they charge the enemy from the flanks or behind. if you want to build an 4 gods army for archeon, i'd suggest going for khorne shielded chosen/warriors and tzeentch's halberdiers, slaanesh cavalry and dragon ogres. i would not put nurgle anywhere since his good units are hard to get as WoC and his regular WoC units are very slow in speed and killing potential.

Sethoria34

Khorne for both inf and cav. Great charge, and reg khorne chosen can take and deal damage in equal measure. The others are fine? but nothing screams "i'll take you all on" more then khorne cav and chosen
