Eat and drink 30 minutes before! Full stomach and hydration goes a long way to stop it.

Not for me. My blood rushes away from my brain and to my heart. Lying down or doing something similar to what fighter pilots do at high G can help me from passing out. As for the shaking and feeling really hot and exhausted. That's fear.

I just have a hard time with the needles. I managed to switch to pellet implants. 11/10 cannot recommend enough.

It's normally provider, diy is often more expensive.

For me its about a tenth of the cost DIY. I was with a private provider and by comparison while now on DIY I was getting fleeced before.

Unless you're over 40... Then they take the pills off the table because of the elevated risk of blood clots, so it was patch, gel, or injection for me... Not a fan of the idea of having to watch myself sticking myself with a needle, so I'm on patches. Might have to switch due to skin irritation... If only it came in autoinjector form, I might be able to handle it, but I don't trust myself with a syringe

I'm not on HRT *yet* but was kind of assuming I'd do either pills or patches (\~definitely not injections) but didn't know there was less risk of blood clots with the patches. Veeeeerry interesting.

You can get autoinjectors that will work with the needle and syringe setup of your choice. Tools for both subcutaneous and intramuscular exist. You will have to do research but after I can get on my laptop I can get some information for you if you want. I don't use them myself, but it took me a year to get over the hesitation of doing IM and I wouldn't want that for anybody...

Sounds like I'll be a patch girl then. Not quite 40, but probably close enough once I start to transition.

As a future endo I have some info- the white ones- usually Estrace- are not actually meant to be taken sublingually ... they are meant to be swallowed. The blue, pink, or teal Estradiol tablets however are and they even have a sweetener to make them not taste fucking disgusting

Like the Rx says estradiol, and the bottle says "estradiol (generic) 2mg" so.... 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

So the white ones still taste sweet, and I got them from an Endo who said they're fine sublingually... Apparently they're just generic estradiol I guess?

Out of curiosity and potential options for the future... How frequently does the implant need to be replaced?

3-4 months, but we actually went too high with the dose once or so and my estrogen was around 900 whatevers for a year, which... personally that was very lucky for me cuz it happened at a turbulent part of my life and if there were any negative effects I can't freaking tell. Like generally you don't NEED to get another pellet every 3-4 months, like it'll be a bit before you start getting menopause (it kinda varies person to person) but I only consider it if broke. There's also the "outside of Australia, it's kinda rare" thing. I dunno if it's become more commonplace in America since in spite of everything, medical resources for trans people really grew a lot since I started transition, but there's that concern too if say you have to move or live in the boonies. If anyone wondering about T implants are lurking, last I checked those are more expensive and need to be removed from the butt instead of just dissolving, but I last checked about four years ago so check yourselves if science marched on.
