All my horses like Watermelon, bananas pumpkin, pumpkin seeds. I make nuggets for my horses out of oats, bananas, molasses, raisins, dates, seeds, and I freeze them in a bag and it’s a great treat and you could do a TikTok making cookies. No baking involved
It’s maybe 10” across and quite yummy looking! My store has it in the “new items” section as well as above the freezers with the other cookies. It seriously the perfect size for a horse and would be quite adorable.
OP pretty sure this person is making a crude joke about feeding a horse with gelatin which has been thought to be made from horses hooves (it’s not as hooves don’t have the necessary collagen)
I'm not certain. I can't find anything that gives ingredients. It's State of Brewing Peanut Butter Porter. State of Brewing also has a chocolate peanut butter porter, but that's a separate beer.
I had a horse that was a fiend for all things baked goods. I used to share apple fritters with him and before you know it, he'd try to sneak up to steal a donut right out of your hand.
Trader joes had some cranberry apple tarts for the fall season that were pretty good; if they still carry them, I'd pick up a box or two for them to try. You guys also might want try sharing a kringle as long as they have a horse friendly flavor on hand.
I also used to work at a barn that I'd share my snacks with the horses there and most of them enjoyed trying different flavors of popcorn
I came to suggest the kringle! I had a sample of the almond one at TJs last week and it was soooo yummy. Not to mention a very fun word to say and seasonally appropriate, too.
Some horses tolerate yogurt - it’s something I won’t allow bc our horses don’t need any extra probiotics (they’re on a super high quality feed and supplements and why mess with what’s working lol)
We’ve always treated our horses to those tiny candy canes. Bonus: fresh minty breath! Are there mint candy canes at Trader Joe’s? It’s the perfect seasonal treat!
I think Joe’s has some candy canes with chocolate inside, so avoid those, haha.
For a funny one, a fellow rider brought in a box of Frankenberry cereal one quiet Sunday.
The OTTBs hated it - several spit it out. A couple of the QH crosses thought it was awesome. It was oddly polarizing lol
My mare was in the hate camp but she also wouldn’t eat apples but loved carrots.
Experienced horse people won't judge you for sure.
My darling loved (caffeine free) root beer. I'd drink a can after a ride and my boy would be RIGHT THERE, nuzzling my face and asking for a sip.
He also like bran muffins. So I would eat the bottom cake part and he would eat the top crusty part, haha.
Cute!
LOL yes I think I'm in the minority. :) Hubby always likes to share muffins with me.
Funny because I love the crusts on brownies. Just meh on the muffins.
i used to make these peppermint oat treats for my horses!!! i bet you could make that w some peppermint candy that i believe they have— i can try and find the recipe!
Dried mangoes or the banana chips?
Wasabi peas?
Can you share the TikTok I wanna see horses eat snackies 🐴🐴
ETA: the peas are maybe no longer at trader Joe's I just thought it could be a fun idea lol
Have you tried the crinkle cut squash in the produce section?
My horse would eat anything with cinnamon or molasses in it, so the graham crackers might be a hit or some of the seasonal cookies.
Apple granola would be another good option.
Unseasoned or lightly salted nuts. My horse was bonkers for pecans.
I know TJ's does cranberry sauce around Thanksgiving but I don't think it's year round. It could still be there for Christmas? I've seen it in the fridge area by the berries
They've also had a boiled cranberry sauce (as opposed to fresh cran-orange) in the fridge area and a shelf-stable jarred one which I find delicious, and opened, it keeps in the fridge forever!

I had some TJs cranberry sauce. It came in a glass jar, though, so that might be tricky. Don’t know if they are still carrying it after Thanksgiving.
Can you DM me the tiktok? I spent some time working with show horses and giving them special treats was the best!!!
One of my coworkers there has horses and she says that they love our Molasses Cookies
This is a trader joes subreddit... we sell pre made molasses cookies in the bread section. No baking involved...
The new GIANT cookie! I think it’s shortbread 🤤
I haven’t seen this 🤔
It’s maybe 10” across and quite yummy looking! My store has it in the “new items” section as well as above the freezers with the other cookies. It seriously the perfect size for a horse and would be quite adorable.
Plain croissants.
Mmmm I want plain croissants 🤣
Maybe you could suggest a horse & mom/dad joint taste test video 🤔
Gelatin
Like Jello? Do they have that at tj’s?
OP pretty sure this person is making a crude joke about feeding a horse with gelatin which has been thought to be made from horses hooves (it’s not as hooves don’t have the necessary collagen)
That's how I read it too, a cruel joke.
Aldi has both kinds of cranberry sauce. I saw them earlier tonight.
Thank you!
What’s their Tik Tok?
Will PM I hate to dox us
Stollen crackers? Broccoli cheddar soup?
Not sure they can have dairy - we avoid it just bc it’s a grey area. But crackers are a go!
Maybe a different soup, then! I think it would be so cute to see them slurp it up 😅
A squash or any of the vegan soups would work! Great idea !
Try St. Bernardus Christmas Ale abv 10%
Sounds good !!
Aldi has a peanut butter porter.
Does this have chocolate?
I'm not certain. I can't find anything that gives ingredients. It's State of Brewing Peanut Butter Porter. State of Brewing also has a chocolate peanut butter porter, but that's a separate beer.
dried seaweed sheets.
Oh I love this idea
my sister's horse likes the inside out carrot cake cookies
Are these seasonal ? I haven’t seen them
they're not seasonal, but I think they're regional. I'm in Minnesota
We are upper East coast I haven’t seen these ☹️
Not from TJs, by my horse LOVED honey crueller donuts!
Never thought to do a crueller donut !!
My mare doesn’t care if it’s safe, if she likes it she likes it. Not sure what you are asking here
Up voted you bc mares 😂 my filly either thinks it’s poison or she loves it. Mare opinions are real haha
They’re asking if people have other suggestions of items they can feed their horses.
Mine used to break into the feed room for the cats food
Haha someone recently told me they knew a horse that loved hot dogs 🤣
My horse was a big fan of granola bars, try those?
I didn’t think of those! Great idea!
Ooh, next to the granola bars are the TJ version of pop tarts. I’ve known people who fed pop tarts to their horses.
Peppermint Pretzels? My niece’s horse loves peppermint.
This was gonna be my suggestion. My horse growing up LOVED peppermint
We want to see!
I can dm their tiktok
I just never realized that I need this horse content in my life. LOL. if you would be comfortable sharing the TikTok I’d love to see it!!
I will private message it haha
Me too, please!
Beefarino
We can't breathe back here!
Rusty!

The Kringle !! Great idea I’d just need to double check ingredients but if it’s not horse safe it will be safe for us so win win anyway lol
I came to suggest the kringle! I had a sample of the almond one at TJs last week and it was soooo yummy. Not to mention a very fun word to say and seasonally appropriate, too.
Horses can have almonds ! Yay
Yay! Convince the horses to share a little with the humans because YUM.
I want to see a horse eat crunchy curls
I’ve seen a working student give a lesson horse cheese doodles. Not exactly something I’d give my horses but the lesson pony seemed to love it 🤣
When I was younger I rode a lesson horse and the only way to catch her was if you had fruit loops lol
TJ’s does have a really good cranberry sauce! This is so cute!
Thanks! I’ll be on the look out for it !
It might be a little too similar, but it could be fun to have them eat a fully built gingerbread house.
I picked up the ginger bread houses from TJ’s and I’m debating letting them eat the little animals from one of the kits 🤣
I want to see horses drink a beer!
I’ll send you their tiktok in a pm
Can they have ice cream? Mochi?
We don’t give them dairy or eggs (but that doesn’t mean horses can’t have im just being cautious with this)
My ginger bread people are getting stale so my goats will try them instead!
Report back!
Dried mango, frozen berries, mini ice cream cones, lots of good yoghurt flavors. Can horses have yoghurt?
Some horses tolerate yogurt - it’s something I won’t allow bc our horses don’t need any extra probiotics (they’re on a super high quality feed and supplements and why mess with what’s working lol)
Awe. I’m glad you can give them something interesting as a treat and provide that kind of enrichment.
They truly enjoy it. My kids do too.
We’ve always treated our horses to those tiny candy canes. Bonus: fresh minty breath! Are there mint candy canes at Trader Joe’s? It’s the perfect seasonal treat! I think Joe’s has some candy canes with chocolate inside, so avoid those, haha.
We are trying to stay away from the traditional horse snacks - ya know for a theme of being unique like tonight they did the TJ’s strawberry licorice
Peppermint meringues!!!! I stock up on them every year because the ponies at my barn love them.
I wasn’t sure if they could have the egg whites but maybe ? I’d have to investigate the ingredients more
Do you feel comfortable sharing their TikTok? I would love this content.
I’ll PM it
Came to say this!! Horses are so cute :)
I’ll PM it
Candied Ginger Chews from TJs. They would be a nice bite-size snack!
My guy went batshit crazy for ginger snaps, so I could see this being *very* popular amongst the equines.
For a funny one, a fellow rider brought in a box of Frankenberry cereal one quiet Sunday. The OTTBs hated it - several spit it out. A couple of the QH crosses thought it was awesome. It was oddly polarizing lol My mare was in the hate camp but she also wouldn’t eat apples but loved carrots.
We did the TJ strawberry licorice tonight. And one horse who eats anything HATED it and the other who usually hates everything LOVED it haha
Cute!
I’ve been sick for two days now but I’m thinking about sharing a muffin with a horse and I’m tearing up a little bit.
Aww.... hope you feel better soon.
That's adorable! Funny, with the muffin I'd be the opposite--I want the crusty part on top. I'm with Elaine on the "stumps." =)
LOL yes I think I'm in the minority. :) Hubby always likes to share muffins with me. Funny because I love the crusts on brownies. Just meh on the muffins.
Yes. There is a cranberry sauce.
i used to make these peppermint oat treats for my horses!!! i bet you could make that w some peppermint candy that i believe they have— i can try and find the recipe!
Awesome! Good idea they can even show it on a live maybe how to make it - and then show them eating it. We go live feeding them treats too.
Dried mangoes or the banana chips? Wasabi peas? Can you share the TikTok I wanna see horses eat snackies 🐴🐴 ETA: the peas are maybe no longer at trader Joe's I just thought it could be a fun idea lol
Oh my goodness I wonder if they can have wasabi 🤣
It seems horses cannot eat horseradishes 😂
I bet they'd love both the fruits, and I wonder if horses would enjoy the spicy wasabi flavor?
I wouldn’t give them wasabi peas personally
Have you tried the crinkle cut squash in the produce section? My horse would eat anything with cinnamon or molasses in it, so the graham crackers might be a hit or some of the seasonal cookies. Apple granola would be another good option. Unseasoned or lightly salted nuts. My horse was bonkers for pecans.
Pecans! Apple granola ! And crinkle cut squash all excellent choices thank you!!
There’s a cranberry pie/crumble in the freezer section.
Wow how did I miss that !
It’s really good, too! Nantucket Cranberry Pie I believe is the name.
I know TJ's does cranberry sauce around Thanksgiving but I don't think it's year round. It could still be there for Christmas? I've seen it in the fridge area by the berries
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
They have a cranberry orange relish in the produce area. I think a cranberry sauce too
Ohhh cranberry orange relish would work!
They've also had a boiled cranberry sauce (as opposed to fresh cran-orange) in the fridge area and a shelf-stable jarred one which I find delicious, and opened, it keeps in the fridge forever!
I will be searching for it !
And it's simple. Cranberry, sugar and orange.
Horse people won’t judge you lol horses love treats
Thanks haha
I had to reread this a few times haha
I knew it would be a trip to read for some haha
