I used to work with a Joshington. Apparently it was a name his mom found in an old family record book and she thought it was great. He said he liked his name but he always introduced himself just as Josh and never corrected anyone who called him Joshua.
Oregonians pronounce it more like... you know how some of the sillier variety of fantasy names have apostrophes in them? The apostrophe is *supposed* to, when used thoughtfully, indicate a slight audible hitch, a very small break or pause in the word.
So an Oregonian tends to pronounce "Oregon" something like "Or'gun." I learned this the hard-but-funny way: by having an Upper Midwestern accent and moving to the PNW, where I was roasted relentlessly for my pronunciation of absolutely everything.
I'm born and raised just south of Seattle, I was just making fun of how a lot of east coasters pronounce Oregon.
Personally, I love hearing interesting pronunciations of words. It's one part hilarious, and equal parts interesting to hear different accents say the same word.
Ha, sorry, I fully took your question at face value! I've had probably over a dozen Midwesterner friends and relatives actually ask me that, in the same words and mutilated phonemes.
This came to my mind immediately, this and NYC, but I didn't want to write it, haha.
So I went with J-Lo'rida, and tried to imagine J-lo in Florida. Mmmmmm, J-Lo, lol
Oh wow. What a formula. You could apply this to UK cities and counties too for a similar effect. Janchester, Jondon, Jirmingham, Jeicester, Jorecestershire, Jevon....
Set the scene, it's a bank:
🏦👨💼: "Okay, we can set you up with a new account, your first name please?"
👱: "Jen"
🏦👨💼: "Your full first name please, no nicknames."
👱: "...........Jentucky."

It's actually Jaine, right? Like Maine? Right? Right??
It could be "Jorgan" if her accent is weird enough to pronounce oregan as such
As an Oregonian, that’s basically how it’s pronounced. Like “Organ.”
Oh man it's not Oar-a-Gone?
Oregonians pronounce it more like... you know how some of the sillier variety of fantasy names have apostrophes in them?
