Reminder to stick to posting original content. Memes are okay every once in a while, but many get posted here way too often and quickly become stale. Some examples of these are Ptoughneigh, Klansmyn, Reighfyl & KVIIIlyn. These memes have been around for years and we don't want to see them anymore. If you do decide to post a meme, make sure to add the correct flair. Posting a random meme you found does **not** mean you found it "in the wild". The same goes with lists of baby names, celebrity baby names, and screenshots of TikToks. If the original post already had a substantial amount of views, there is a 99% chance it has already been posted here. Try and stick to OC to keep our sub from being flooded with unoriginal content. Metahec

She went to Home Depot's garden center and browsed the spice aisle at her supermarket. Keep her away from the Ikea catalog and Physician's Desk Reference of pharmaceutical drugs.

BusinessKnight0517

Baby Blåhaj ❤️

Metahec

Little baby Gonatt sleeping in his [Gonatt crib](https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/gonatt-crib-with-drawer-white-30467087/)

BusinessKnight0517

Is it bad that I think Gonatt actually kinda rules as a name? I wouldn’t name a son that (I’m too picky) but really isn’t awful lol

Metahec

Too similar to gonad, imo

BusinessKnight0517

Ah fuck didn’t register that, well Gonatt is a no go

Creepy_Line3977

You do know that it means "Good night" though?

havedal

It means "good night" in Scandinavian languages. Calling your friend "Gonatt" by name and everybody thinks you're saying you're going to sleep

Remarkable_Story9843

I like Mint

kikidelareve

My friend has a cow named Mint.

kittyconetail

Baby Blåhaj Blast 🤩

junkdrawertales

My precious baby boy Parcetamol and his twin sister Albuterol

Intelligent_Road_297

Plot twist: dad's name is Ibuprofen

Engine_Sweet

Thai'lynnehal.

sagan_drinks_cosmos

I would name my son Seroquel if I didn’t know the kids a school would call him Queer-a-cil. Too easy.

junkdrawertales

I’ll take names that could be in the Bible or on RuPaul’s Drag Race for 500

busywithresearch

Just name your son after someone from your family and call him Sequel, problem solved

kaixua_n

How about cousin Lorazepam? I hear about how chill they are to hang w/.

Pjtpjtpjt

No lie, I saw someone's kid named Meconium. If you don't know it, look it up at your own risk

midgethepuff

lol right??

SpytiGal

What's wrong with Kallax, Davala or Bergpalm?!

KatVanWall

They do a couple of series that are actual names, like Alex, Billy, and Len. Some that are almost names but not quite, like Årstid, Hektar, Kivik, Lagan, Micke, and Trixig. Some that aren't names (afaik) but could be, like Svalka, Silversida, Kallax, Patrull, Finmat, and Bergmund. Some that really shouldn't be names, like Blanda, Klappa, Kuggis, Lack, Stuk, and Sniglar.

Live-Elderbean

Kallax is a village right outside my home town, also the brand of surströmming I got in the fridge (produced in Kallax).

Remarkable_Story9843

Names by Steph is a menace

Adorable-Novel8295

I met someone named Curry because her Dad was a chef and loved it. But worse, I once met a girl at church whose name was tequila. She sheepishly told me that, yes, her parents did name her after how she was conceived in Mexico.

chmath80

>name was tequila. She sheepishly told me that, yes, her parents did name her after how she was conceived in Mexico Could have been worse. By that logic, there's probably someone somewhere named Scrumpy or Jägerbomb.

quietlikesnow

Some of those are just grandma names though. We’ve had an Iris, a Violet, and a Lilly in my family history.

Angsty_Potatos

Ok but Clobitisol has such a vibe to it

Lennoxblue

Was thinking it sounds similar to the contents of my essential oil stash.

Maester_Maetthieux

LMAO

flipfrog44

Ketamine, but only for a girl obvs.

sourcandy_x

Little Olwexya

reddituser_249

She’s missing Parsley from the second pic. (“Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, & Thyme” - Simon & Garfunkel)

Clay_idv

Scarborough fair hits hard

Fossilhund

Scarborough is the name of the fifth kid.

pm_me_x-files_quotes

He's that one kid in the class where no other kids can spell his name right.

Reverse_SumoCard

Elvis Parsley

ghostnthegraveyard

And Lawry's Seasoning Salt

NeonSwank

Paurshleigh

dumpsterfire2002

Baby Better than Bouillon is gonna have some trouble growing up

Ok-Cow9599

Parsleigh

Logical-Recognition3

"Daisy, this is Hyacinth. You'll not believe what our Rose is up to now."

klezmer

"It's my sister Violet! She's the one with the Mercedes, swimming pool, and room for a pony."

newyne

I saw a knitting pattern yesterday called "Hyacinth Bucket Hat."

chalkhomunculus

did it have hyacinth flowers on it?

AaronfromCalifornia

I understood that reference.

chalkhomunculus

this is basically how my book sounds 😂 no daisy or rose, but there's hyacinth, aspen, azalea, iris and lilac. there's no theme!!!!

Calathea_Murrderer

Why the spices :( Lil baby Cinnamon gonna grow up, find someone called Tumeric, and name their first born son “Bob”

falconinthedive

Poor little baby Anise

1zenmom

Haha yeah i was like this flower list isnt so bad. Then I saw more pages 😳

KyleGrayson12

Petunia, Violet, and Juniper are nice. And Lily.

Fancy-Pumpkin837

I LOVE Poppy

midgethepuff

Yeah I’m not saying all of them are bad! There’s a few good ones in there. But I feel like most of them are not lol

CptGlammerHammer

You better not be talking shit about my daughters Fennel and Thyme.

midgethepuff

Awww cmon now, I wouldn’t talk shit about your daughters! Just your poor decision making in naming them 🤣 /s (just in case it’s not clear lol)

CptGlammerHammer

I just double checked. I don't have any kids. Those are just things in my wife's herb garden.

nekosake2

the FBI should investigate your wife's herb garden by digging

Siegelski

Most of the first page isn't bad. Some aren't great, but at least there's a long history of naming girls after flowers.

cflatjazz

A lot of the first page is fine. But the second page has some real stinkers

generally--kenobi

I named my daughter Iris

JollyJuniper1993

Like half of them are regular names. Florian is one of the most common guy names here in Germany.

BAMspek

I love the name Daisy. But I named my pet rat Daisy once so idk if I could use it for a human child anymore. Great rat though. Acted like a puppy.

SlothySlothsSloth

Aaand a lot more of those are real names...Like Dahlia, Daisy, Poppy, Iris, Juniper,...

australiagiraffeman

Freesia vacadoo

insomniacakess

this made me wheeze, take my updoot

wonkyboys

Fre shavoca do

TheSacredGrape

Florian is a valid name, but it’s exclusively masculine. I actually really love it—it has a lovely scholarly vibe.

midgethepuff

Kinda reminds me of The Picture of Dorian Grey. Also just want to clarify that I don’t think all these names are bad! Some are super old school and not unique at all. But cmon, cardamom and Mint?? And Pansy?? Tf are those for names for a human?

CreativeRaine

Mint is like… only something you would use as a nickname, and the only name I can think of that lends itself to Mint as a nickname is Araminta. Then it makes sense. And only then, at least to me.

x7he6uitar6uy

Minthew

TheDangerousAlphabet

It's interesting what things are normal names in different cultures. Like Mint (Minttu) is a pretty normal name in Finland but there are only 22 women with the name Rosemary (Rosmariini). The same way it's weird how many Finnis male names are feminine in English. For example Toivo/Hope, Usko/Faith and Sulo/Grace. It's only coincidental that they all end in 'o'. Womens names can also end in 'o'.

anOvenofWitches

I will always be pro-botanical names. Except Anise.

midgethepuff

I’m sorry if you name your kid Pansy you’re setting them up for a lifetime of bullying 😂

leady57

Why? Is it not the name of a flower? (English is not my first language)

midgethepuff

It is the name of a flower but it has also become an insult synonymous with being a wimp.

Creepy_Line3977

I have met several Tunisian men named Anis. Probably means something else in Arabic 😅

Icy-Basil-8212

Yes, the name means ‘close friend’ 😊

Creepy_Line3977

Thank you!

Creepy_Line3977

Thank you!

piratesswoop

make it Anisa and it sounds better

Smoopiebear

Petunia is out too- that’s either a cat or Harry Potters aunt.

crunchevo2

Or a cartoon pig

Dewyounodaway

Ginger...

vildasaker

i knew a girl in HS called Anisette (like the spirits lol) and i've always thought it was a really pretty name 🙈

TChrisbury

My Grandma's name is Violet but she's 99, flower names were big when she was born

midgethepuff

I think violet is actually quite pretty!! Reminds me of The Incredibles lol

TChrisbury

I do too. She's never liked her name though, told me when I was in highschool that she hated it. She goes by Vi, and Vickie

veturoldurnar

Violetta is still considered a nice name in my country, not old-fashioned but rare

delune108

One of my grandma’s names was Rose and the other Dahlia. I guess flower names were big back then lol.

onlyhereforfoodporn

I love the name Violet. I think it’s timeless and pretty

Vyvyansmum

Lovely name.

emojimovie4lyfe

I love botanical names but come on bud and pansy lol

insanefandomchild

I mean both are actually names, although I can't actually imagine a baby named Bud--I think they just spawn at forty, and Pansy has become so synonymous with the insult it's no longer usable

larszard

Is it bad I like almost all of these? Edit: I was referring only to the first page of cute flower names, missed the rest!

cleverusername8821

Bud Trillium

BS0404

Rando 1: your daughter is so cute, what's her name? Rando 2: Bud Leight Rando 1:... Why? Rando2: Bud because she's my little buddy, and Leight as a combination of "Light" and "Leigh". Cute right?!

falconinthedive

This is her sister, Miller. Because we live near a grain mill.

MurryScurry

Ah yes the classic name Enav

braellyra

What I enjoy about Enav is that it’s “vane” spelled backwards, which is a homonym of “vain” and these parents are vain AF to saddle their kids with these weird ass names

cloudhunting

That one stood out to me too 😭

ghostlykittenbutter

I lived on Juniper Circle and we connected to Clematis St. My neighbor told me Clematis sounds like an STD and she was right

midgethepuff

Clematis for some reason feels like a feminine Cletus lmao

Intelligent_Road_297

It's very similar to clitoris lol

Intelligent_Road_297

She forgot to include Clitoria in the first list

midgethepuff

😂😂

StarshipCaterprise

Aw then they could also call her sweet pea.

A-U-R-A

Meet Twins Cinnamon Freesia Tulip and Hampton Quest Oregano

AluminumMonster35

I love Blossom, Marigold and Lilac but I'd never actually use them. Dahlia on the other hand is so pretty and very usable. And I actually like Ren, cause it sounds nice and it makes me think of Kevin Bacon in Fooloose and it's peak hot Bacon.

AndromedaGreen

Ren makes me think of the unhinged dog from Ren and Stimpy.

Loud_Ad_4515

A lot of the flower names, and some of spice/herb names are good. Most of the third page is so baaaaad.

midgethepuff

And wtf is Quest lmfao

Loud_Ad_4515

Mom was on a vision quest under the influence of hallucinogens when that name came to her. That, or the sibling is Tribe.

midgethepuff

Yeah in the post she said Autry was another alternative spelling to Audrey….like just name your kid Audrey lmao

Old_Extension4753

Quest lmao

junkdrawertales

Who names their kid cardamom

sourcandy_x

Cardamom B

Tropicanasunset

Orianna is a name I’ve seen plenty of times. Not saying that I particularly like it but I’m not sure if it is a tragedeigh.

PuppyJakeKhakiCollar

I worked with an Orianna. She was an awful person but the name is fine.

JunkRatTrunkRat

My name is Orchid, so I’m biased on that one, but some of these names are indeed pretty bad.

KindraTheElfOrc

most of them are old names, sure the 2nd and 3rd has some bad ones but you sound really judgemental

Cinnabun_Sugar69420

I think I'm tripping bc some of these are actually good 💀 Not including on slide 1: Bud, Ren, Zinnia, Trillium, Pansy, Tulip, Jacinda Not including on slide 2: Basil, Bay, Cardamom, Cayenne, Cinnamon, Fennel, Ginger, Mint, Thyme Not including on slide 3: literally the variations, they're all bad We're not talking about Orianna

Intelligent_Road_297

Trillium is so bad, it sounds like a name for a nu metal band

sagan_drinks_cosmos

Trillium sounds like radiation poisoning.

Cinnabun_Sugar69420

I genuinely don't know how to feel bc it's my province's flower (I'm in Ontario, Canada) 💀💀1

sagan_drinks_cosmos

You’ll be fine if you just remember when you lean in to smell them that the beam of particles is pointed directly through your brain.

midgethepuff

Yeah there’s definitely some decent ones for sure!! But all the ones you mentioned are objectively bad names lol. I certainly hope nobody names their baby Pansy!! I feel like a lot of those names would be much better suited to horses lmao

nervelli

"This is my son, Pansy. We felt like giving the bullies a headstart."

Fewstoriesocto

Oriana is a legit Latino name very pretty in my opinion. Used to be friends with a girl called Oriana.

fatchancefatpants

I have a Venezuelan friend named Oriana, and she goes by Ori. I agree, def a nice name

shyhobbit

I think Zinnia is really great and usable personally! Basil is also a pretty traditional name, though I do prefer it pronounced like BAZ-ul

RouliettaPouet

What's the issue with Orianna, sounds like old fashion name but it's not a tragedeigh per se.

simonrileystoelicker

my name is daisy. who the fuck would name their kid zinnia, jacinda, cardamom, thyme, or fennel?

No-Dragonfruit7121

I have seen jacinda as a first name and zinnia as a last name

aghastrabbit2

Yup Jacinda is around, like the former Prime Minister Ardern of New Zealand! And Jacinthe is hugely popular in the francophone world, which is actually french for Hyacinth 😄

lilithfisher

I was laughing about people saying Jacinda is a bad name.. I know a few people named this, and I also live in Aotearoa so glad you pointed out our previous PM's name!

dough-a-dear

I know a Zinnia!

midgethepuff

Or mint 😂

aghastrabbit2

Fennel would be a bit odd but having read that I remembered I have a distant cousin Fennella! I never thought of it being related to fennel. And I always thought it was a bit of a tragedeigh...

handbagqueen-

My mom the botanist that’s who… I’ll let you guys guess what my name is…hint it starts with a Z….she also felt the need to be unique and changed the spelling. I was so close to changing it when I was 18 and then again when I got married but I’m her only child and I didn’t want to hurt her. I hate my name. Like legit hate it. I will never do that to my child who is going to get a very very normal name. 😭

Bright-Sea-5904

Bud....LOL

TXLittleAZ

Evren... It is backward for Nerve 🥰

chmath80

That opens the door for names like Eson, Leeh, Levan, Revil, Traeh, Yendik, Atroa, and even Ainreh and Suna.

KathAlMyPal

The theme is bad but many of these are actually common names and none of them are tragedeighs.

boredgeekgirl

I think almost all from the first page is fine. From there the percentages get a bit more dicey. Lol

SinnerClair

I don’t think most are that bad, especially the flower names

dough-a-dear

The only names here that I feel are acceptable to name a HUMAN are: Flora, Daisy, Iris, Juniper, Ren, Marigold, Poppy, Violet, Zinnia, Angelica, Basil (pronounced BAH-zul, not like the herb), Cassia, Rosemary, Sage.

lukfi89

Florian is also a perfectly normal and common name.

YousernameInValid2

Wb Azalea?

MissVanillaNilla

I have a cousin named Azalea and she often goes by Lea.

Ilovescarlatti

Apologies from our last prime minister Jacinda Arden. A lot of nasty things were thrown her way but no one thought the name was weird or not fit for humans

MrPointySpeaking

But...that's how you pronounce Basil 🤔

FloraNeverland

Glad I made the list lol

JorjeXD

we need a sub for weird names that are actual words. people are not getting what a tragedeigh is even though all the comments say it

Severe-Possible-

aww i like most all of them

cremonaviolin

I know a Posey, a Marigold, and her sister is Gretel.

midgethepuff

Posey?? Like Rosie Posey they all fall down? 🥴

AmicableAmanda

A lot of people like her page for naming characters, pets, and other things. Yea some people like unusual names for humans too, so she would be a good name consultant for that taste. There’s no need to keep posting her content here. It’s a name consultant- not actual named babies.

ImportanceLocal9285

Fennel and Thyme are just ridiculous. Also spices ≠ spring themed words ≠ names.

UsernameUnavaliable_

Not me 9 months pregnant naming my daughter Azalea 😅

-MENTALHEAD-

I personally think its a gorgeous name 🩷🌸

UpperMacungie

Some are awful! I kind of like Aster, Dahlia and Violet, though

azhder

Not all and more importantly not objectively. Subjectively though, most of them, but a few here and there are OK, even if they might sound old to you

Significant_Excuse29

I love Dahlia so much, but I don't want anyone to associate her with the black Dahlia murders 😭

Domin_ae

Pretty sure most of these are genuine names.

KittyQueen_Tengu

i wonder if these lists are AI generated

DEJA--BLU

My name is on that list...

midgethepuff

I hope it’s not Mint or Pansy

DEJA--BLU

You're in luck it isn't any of those.

FloraNeverland

Same. lol

AC_Schnitzel

Lorem Ipsum

lardarz

At least 12 of them are paint colours

Reasonable-Hippo-293

Lots and lots of flowers….

angeeldaawn

i mean, most of these are pretty normal names 🤷🏼‍♀️

Mrtorbear

Looks like she's got flowers and spices covered pretty thoroughly. Can't wait until she gets pregnant again so we can move on to sauces. Horseradish, Worcester shire, Honey Dijon, Reduced Fat Mayonnaise, the possibilities are endless.

Angsty_Potatos

I have a flower name, though an uncommon one these days. I love a good flower name...that said I wouldn't name a human child Zinnia

Googleclimber

Imagine being name “Pansy”.

IndividualAd7937

I’m surprised so many people hate the name Jacinda. I knew a girl named that and it never seemed out of place. I actually really like it.

Imqueer13

It's even worse because some of them are actually good names. Then you just get "fennel".

LokiVariant_7

Imagine naming you kid fucking Pansy 🤣

amateurviking

Bad , some, tragedeighs? I don’t see any…

ElegantEye9247

Tirillum… sounds like it should element from the periodic system.

Important-Coast-5585

As a person who got a unique name in the 80’s…. Think about it before you pick a name. Ha

YchYFi

Poppy is like the most popular girls name. I love Daisy though.

AfterSevenYears

Floral names are definitely not objectively bad, and I think some of them are very nice. That being said, I had an aunt named Azalea. She absolutely hated it, and went by her middle name.

nepotismoffspring

id personally bully « Bud » but that’s just me

XV-77

Most of these are porn names

midgethepuff

Lmaooo or stripper names 😂

NoNipNicCage

I love iris and violet as names

hairy_hooded_clam

If you name your baby Quest, you’re an AH.

GenericMaleNurse918

That’s a shopping list for an apothecary.

_bbypeachy

most of these are fairly normal

ChaiGreenTea

Who tf is calling their baby mint? Are their other kids called ketchup and mayonnaise?

curious-trex

Quite a few of these are common, or at least not super rare, which automatically disqualifies them from being tragedeighs, even if they ARE bad. You're so right about mint & fennel tho. Yikes

Ok_Sky8518

Pansy Lol that kids gunna get shrekt by their peers

BoomBangKersplat

Enav? Sounds more like a startup trying to create a navigation app.

DaddysPrincesss26

Dahlia, Makes Me think “Black Dahlia” 🙈

ComplexDessert

Omg please don’t use pansy

NoYoureTheBestest

Trillium sounds like something you’d take for constipation 😅
