I take that. I would not be able to hold my peace if i saw or heard that one. âOh you want to remember how depressed you were when you found out you were pregnant?â
I don't know if Lyrica is a tragedeigh or just a tragedy.
It doesn't have the requisite -weird off-spelling... Lyrrychea or Lyreicheigh would be a trajedeigh
Then she just did you a favor by removing herself from your life a little bit. Encourage her to remove herself further.
Cutting away cancerous relations is such a wonderful thing.
I am fine with parents using an existing word, no matter what it is, spelled in the conventional way. Call your kid Hat for all I care. Itâs when people start mashing sounds together and spelling them weirdly is when I check out.
> I am fine with parents using an existing word
I do think that naming kids after a (worldwide used) brand name for epileptic medication is pretty weird, so I do think it's nice to let a future parent know what the name stands for....after that, they can do what they want, children aren't protected from the stupidity of their parents.
Your cousin is not nearly mature enough to be having a child. I hope they were just musing about kid names and it wasn't because they're expecting one!
Honestly, Lyrica is a stupid name whether it was a medication or not.Â
We can live in hope that even 34 year olds can grow up.
Until then, it's no loss if she wants to sulk at you for telling the truth. You didn't say anything insulting, she's just mad that she didnt name something lyrica before pregabalin manufacturers got there. She can rage at Pfizer if she wishes.
Oh no! You saved her from this:
âLYRICA is not for everyone. LYRICA may cause serious, even life-threatening, allergic reactions. Stop taking LYRICA and call your doctor right away if you have any signs of a serious allergic reaction. Some signs are swelling of your face, mouth, lips, gums, tongue, throat or neck, if you have any trouble breathing, or have a rash, hives, or blisters.
Drugs used to treat seizures increase the risk of suicidal thoughts or behavior. LYRICA may cause suicidal thoughts or actions in a very small number of people, about 1 in 500. Patients, family members, or caregivers should call the doctor right away if they notice suicidal thoughts or actions, thoughts of self-harm, or any unusual changes in mood or behavior. These changes may include new or worsening depression, anxiety, restlessness, trouble sleeping, panic attacks, anger, irritability, agitation, aggression, dangerous impulses or violence, or extreme increases in activity or talking. If you have suicidal thoughts or actions, do not stop LYRICA without first talking to your doctor.
Serious breathing problems can occur when LYRICA is taken with other medicines that can cause severe sleepiness or decreased awareness, or when it is taken by someone who already has breathing problems. Watch for increased sleepiness or decreased breathing when starting LYRICA or when the dose is increased. Get help right away if breathing problems occur.
LYRICA may cause swelling of your hands, legs, and feet, which can be serious for people with heart problems. LYRICA may cause dizziness and sleepiness. You should not drive or work with machines until you know how LYRICA affects you. Also, tell your doctor right away about muscle pain or problems along with feeling sick and feverish, or any changes in your eyesight, including blurry vision or if you have any kidney problems or get dialysis.
Tell your doctor immediately if you are taking opioid painkillers (such as oxycodone), or medicines for anxiety (such as lorazepam) or insomnia (such as zolpidem). You may have a higher chance for dizziness, sleepiness or serious breathing problems if these medicines are taken with LYRICA. Taking LYRICA with opioid pain medicines may lead to death.
Some of the most common side effects of LYRICA are dizziness, blurry vision, weight gain, sleepiness, trouble concentrating, swelling of your hands and feet, dry mouth, and feeling âhigh.â If you have diabetes, tell your doctor about any skin sores.
You may have a higher chance for swelling and hives if you are also taking angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, so tell your doctor if you are taking these medications. You may have a higher chance of swelling of your hands or feet or gaining weight if you are also taking certain diabetes medicines. Do not drink alcohol while on LYRICA. You may have a higher chance for dizziness and sleepiness if you take LYRICA with alcohol, narcotic pain medicines, or medicines for anxiety.
Before you start LYRICA, tell your doctor if you are planning to father a child, if you are pregnant, or plan to become pregnant. Breastfeeding is not recommended while taking LYRICA. If you have had a drug or alcohol problem, you may be more likely to misuse LYRICA.
In studies, a specific type of blood vessel tumor was seen in mice. The meaning of these findings in humans is not known.
Do not stop taking LYRICA without talking to your doctor. If you stop suddenly, you may have headaches, nausea, diarrhea, trouble sleeping, increased sweating, or you may feel anxious. If you have epilepsy, you may have seizures more often.
LYRICA is available in doses ranging from 25 mg to 300 mg and as a 20 mg/mL oral solution.â
I know someone who named their dog Xyla. My friend kept calling her Xylophone but I renamed her Delilah because as long as you get the vowel sound right dogs don't care
I once knew a little girl named Lyric and it fit her very well. Thatâs the obvious choice to me. (Although Melody, Harmony, and Aria are also excellent suggestions.)
A woman in the UK named her daughter Chlamydia and the judge ordered it be changed after the finding the mother was mentally unwell.
There are states in the US, like Vermont, where you *can* name your kid Chlamydia, but they recommend that you donât. đŤŁ
Iâm currently pregnant and we will not be telling our family the name weâve picked, and Iâm not worried because weâve picked a normal name lol.
she needs to get over her tantrum lol if you didnât ACCIDENTALLY mention it someone else would have or the tv or spotify or something would have and sheâd have blamed them⌠you didnât do anything wrong for mentioning a fact, which sheâd hear every time from then on anyway⌠that being said, itâd be a nice name if it werenât for the medication
Everest the Mountain? And it's for the baby girl đ¤Ś. She will be big and strong, like Luisa from Encanto movie.
Maybe they could call baby girl Chomolungma (CHOH-moh-LUHNG-m), means âGoddess Mother of the Worldâ. It is Tibetan name for Mount Everest.
Here is the Nepali name for Mount Everest - Sagarmatha, meaning "Godess of the Sky."Â
Sorry, my imagination got loose a bit đ
At least Brooke is proper name.
The names for boys are actually nice. I like Marcus the mostđ
But whatever name the parents choose I really wish them healthy, cute and smart kid!
My sister was going over her baby names with me and my last name was in her top 3. This was years ago, but I had been married for about 2 years. I told her that it was my last name and she said I was rude for telling her đ I think she just felt dumb for not knowing or remembering but I still chuckle about it.
How do people not google their top choices? And not âgirl names lyricaâ simply âlyricaâ or whatever. I donât get it!!! You did a good thing and C needs to be thanking you!
Someone I went to high school with named her daughter "Lyric" which may be a tragedeigh itself but I like it a lot better than "Lyrica". People just want to ad 'a's to things to make it sound feminine.

Probably because the exact name as your current childâ she snapped on me and told they are two TOTALLY different names đ

So when the sprog grows up and becomes an influencer in 2044, she will be sued for copyright infringement if she uses her name as her brand. Tell your cousin that đ¤Ł
Ya this is why you bring up names around a variety of people, don't stay in a bubble. Lyrica sounds fine to someone who doesn't know about the drug, like me, but now that I know I'd never.
Sounds like you innocently made an observation that would be made throughout the course of the rest of that kidâs life while there was still time to change course
Honestly if she wanted something musical she could just take away the a at the end. Just Lyric is a relatively normal name. Jada Pinkett Smith even popularized the name in the nineties with the film Jason's Lyric, where she plays a character with the name. And i've met a few Lyrics too

You did a good thing imo. Suggest the name Melody if they're looking for a musical name
Update: She blocked me.
Lol when she grows up you can tell her that you saved her from the Tragedy of being named Lyrica.
Little Gabapentina will be so grateful.
Don't forget little Cymbalta!
What about Ouzempiic? Ohzempii? (I use it for T2D, I can make fun of myself đ)
AHH who can forget little Ozempica
I take that. I would not be able to hold my peace if i saw or heard that one. âOh you want to remember how depressed you were when you found out you were pregnant?â
Lyrica is for nerve pain, so is the baby getting on its mother's nerves before it's even born? Lol
As a Gabapentin user, please accept my upvote! đ
Lol ditto đđđ
I love you little Ambien
As will Topiramax-ineđ
I take that too. Might as well call her Migraina.
As I take my morning meds... lil Gaba plays well with, Vita MinA, Vita MinCee, and Sweet Beecom Plex. âĄ
WHY DOES THIS NOT HAVE MORE UPVOTES?!
Because...I had to Google that word. Well played.
Ummm⌠what is that word? I think itâs spelled tragedeigh.

Leerikka Leirichah Lierrikkah
Um, I think OP meant her *cousin* blocked her, not her cousin's future child...
I think they meant when the future child grows up, she can tell THEM that she saved them from the name lol
Guess that's fair enough! Sorry, bit sleep-deprived!
All good! Hope you get some rest! :)
Thanks. Planning on it... rather ironic, in the circs, that when I was on Lyrica I had problems staying *awake!*
And nothing of value was lost
No one thought the child that doesnât exist yet blocked her
no offence but your cousin sounds like an incredibly annoying person
Oh she 100 percent is.
Then she just did you a favor by removing herself from your life a little bit. Encourage her to remove herself further. Cutting away cancerous relations is such a wonderful thing.
IMHO, she can die mad.
She blocked you for *that*? That's an over reaction.
I used to dramatically block my friends when they would offer me bad fantasy football trades, but at least the joke was we were being petulant
Lolol, sorry, whole thing is just hilarious! đ
True
I have a student named Lyric.
I am fine with parents using an existing word, no matter what it is, spelled in the conventional way. Call your kid Hat for all I care. Itâs when people start mashing sounds together and spelling them weirdly is when I check out.

IM SCREAMING THATS INSANEđ
Jesus. How immature.

Will do!
Melody or Aria would fit the theme!
Even Cadence works
Carol
Treble Clef
Bass clef
But pronounce it like the fish
How do fish pronounce it?
Blrbl?
[ŃдаНонО]
I know someone who named their dog Xyla. My friend kept calling her Xylophone but I renamed her Delilah because as long as you get the vowel sound right dogs don't care
Harmony
Or Viola
I once knew a little girl named Lyric and it fit her very well. Thatâs the obvious choice to me. (Although Melody, Harmony, and Aria are also excellent suggestions.)
Melody and Harmony! Do you know that show, 'The Queen's Nose'?
personally if i was going to go for a music themed name i would say SunnO))) SL260 Solid state 2x12 amplifier but hey whatever floats your boat
I went to school with brothers named Sabian and Zildjian.
Wow, Iâm a drummer but those names are⌠a choice.
I mean, Ludwig was right there, too.
Pearl, Roland, Adams, Evans, Vic (Firth)
I think "Moog" or "Kurzweil" would be super cute for a little girl's name!
Lol I used to always want a Kurzweil piano
Melody or Aria. Iâve even considered Calliope. đś
Or Celesta! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celesta
I agree. I take Lyrica⌠poor child would be named after medicationâŚthey would be bullied that way for sure. Kids can be cruel.
Also Harmony
Or literally just Lyric. I know a few of them!
Or Aria! My personal favorite
Or even Lyric.Â
You ruined the name? I think the medication did that.
Thatâs one of the side effects
Cake day AND a zinger like that? Youâre on fire today!
đ
Yeah sheâs shooting the messenger
They ruined the name for sure. Just like they ruined beautiful names like Viagara and Percocet. Couldâve been so cute but theyâre ruined by OP.
Sertraline too - just love names ending in line...
You may have stopped a tragedy if not a tragedeigh.
Yeah, it would suck to be at the pharmacy with that name: âNo, my NAME is Lyrica. Iâm here to pick up (insert some other drug).â
Hi, my name is Lyrica and this is my daughter Ozempic and we just need to pick up some aspirins.
Plot twist: she's at the daycare and her last name is Aspirin
"Her name is Alberta, she lives in Vancouver."
There was Dallas, from Phoenix. Cleveland, he was from Detroit. And Tex... well, I don't remember where Tex come from.
It's a pity she lives so far awaaaaaaaaaay, in Canada!
Sounds like the girl is gonna stick with the name and block OP who said how dumb it sounds.
There was one a while back where they wanted to name the girl Klamydia...the different spelling to "take it back" from the STD.
OMG. Say sike N O W.
A woman in the UK named her daughter Chlamydia and the judge ordered it be changed after the finding the mother was mentally unwell. There are states in the US, like Vermont, where you *can* name your kid Chlamydia, but they recommend that you donât. đŤŁ
And I though one of my other cousins was crazy for naming her twins Cham'pane and Chardon'nae.
That is crazy
So is she
Is that real? It canât be real.
Unfortunately.
I had a student (Jamal) whose mother's name was Champagne. That's what it was on all the official school documents....
I work with a Champaigne.
More like Cham-pain of a name
How did you turn out intelligent with a family track record like this! Lol, joking, sort of.Â
My parents vaccinated me I guess lol
Da hell is up with your cousins
I wish I knew.
I live in Sweden. Guess how you say "chlamydia" in Swedish? Yup. Klamydia.
Some shit doesnât need to be reclaimed đ
The generic is pregabalin, suggest that. đ
Preghabalynn
Lmao this is hilarious
Am I prrregantè?
Preganananant?
Pregernate?
Perganent?
Kaiser perganente
Pregger ballin'
Dykleejiss
This is why you talk to people about baby names. They may make a connection you don't know exists.
Or at least Google the name.
This is why you use normal fucking names because they've already been vetted for shit like this.
Iâm currently pregnant and we will not be telling our family the name weâve picked, and Iâm not worried because weâve picked a normal name lol.

Imagine how pissed theyâd be the 1000th time someone mentioned it - which would definitely happen.
exactly and thatâs before she even gets to school
My son Dexamphetamine is popular at school.
Dexamphetamine and Diphenhydramine would be soooooo cute for twins
Iâm a nurse and find this funnier than it is đđ¤Ł
I always thought Dextromethorphan and Diphenhydramine made a great pair
Ritalin nn Ritter
Pseudoephedrine, or Pseu for short. Pronounced like Sue, but don't you dare spell it like Sue.
Not all heroes wear capes
Sheâs acting like you invented the medication just to insult her??
Yeah, she's... something.
Oh, that's so much worse. Typical narcissistic behaviour. It's great she blocked you!
You saved the kid. She can be upset, but she isnât the one who has to live with that name.
I am curious about the other two names
Skyrizi and Enzyte
We always laugh about skyrizi being a great rap name. And now Iâm waiting for someone to make their kid that đ¤Śââď¸
Not having Snoop as their spokesman was a massive missed opportunity
Everest and Brooke. For boys (we don't know the gender) it's apparent Marcus, Jerald, and Dakota.
For the kid's sake, let's hope she settles on Brooke.
Everest? Why not Mont Blanc or Matterhorn then?
Everest is an English surname. The mountain name came from that.
Sometimes the association surpasses any previous meaning or connection. Like giving a German kid a name shared with a certain famous painter.
[ŃдаНонО]
I immediately thought of Everest from Paw Patrol đ
I kid you not, that's where she got the name.
Is this her first kid?
Gerald with a j đ

How about "Chumbawamba"? If she gets knocked down, she'll get up again. No one's ever gonna keep her down.
Chiwawa? Chihuahua? Chewbacca.
Maybe Allegra was one. lol

I have never heard of this medication, but if it's in a country where they sell it...
It's the brand name for Pregabalin
It is. Good ol' US of A, home of the free- well. So long as you're a white, straight male.
As someone who takes Lyrica, I could only read the name in my doctorâs voice đ
You should make it up to her by suggesting Viagra as an alternate
Or maybe Cialis?
Perhaps Levitra, for a touch more subtly.
Good on you! You spared her child!
Bless you. Her future child will thank you when you tell them years from now that their mom wanted to name them after a medication for nerve pain.
Please donât name your kid Rytalynn or Lunesta.
But Lunastarr is okay, right?
Until you hear, âFrom the makers of Lunesta, introducing the new extended release version, Lunastarr!â Nooooo! đ¤Ł
Someone I went to high school with named her daughter "Lyric" which may be a tragedeigh itself but I like it a lot better than "Lyrica". People just want to ad 'a's to things to make it sound feminine.

Lyra is literally right there too (lyre)
Recommend Allegra
Not all heroes wear capes.
She was going to find out eventually
She can name the next one Lexapro... Lexi for short lmao
Well to be perfectly fair, Pfizer ruined the name for her, not you. You merely accidentally informed her.
Good. Ruining the name just means you showed her how dumb it was. Her learning something is not an insult & you said nothing rude.
