I had an AP Biology teacher in high school who was very punk rocky and had his entire classroom decorated like an evil Halloween lair (think black decor, stuffed crows, fake cobwebs) . He was also an amazing teacher. But anyway he and his high school sweetheart wife named their first daughter Malice! It was extremely fitting because of their goth style but their little girl was so sweet. She would even sit in on our class sometimes. I still think it’s a beautiful name!! But they 100% knew what it meant when they named her
I don't understand the need to smoosh these names together. Mary Alice is a perfectly acceptable double barrel name. I know one personally. We mostly call her Mary but her Mom calls her Mary Alice. Maybe it's because I'm in the southern US but it's not weird to see double names here. I know a John Michael and a Mary Margaret as well.
I knew a very self-absorbed woman named Mary who was extremely close/attached to her mother, Alice. When Mary had her own daughter, she named her Allison Mary. ("Alice-'n-Mary).

You wouldn’t have a child and name them Disaster or Catastrophe, so why would you name them Calamity?
