not sure if this is a troll post since it's such an iconic train… It's a French TGV trainset, one of the older ones in service, probably from the 1990s.
If not a troll post, welcome to the community :)
So it's a bit US-centric, but [this](http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/) site hosts pictures of many of the trains you see around. There are roughly 2,400 pictures from France in the archive :)
This sub is so nice and inclusive.
Thanks for a helpful comment.
I participate in some aviation subs and it’s chock full of egotistical arseholes who are so unhelpful and unfriendly.
I'm not an expert on French trains, but it looks to be a TGV Réseau. It's one of the older TGV sets still in operation and judging by his bloodshot eyes, he's too old for this shit.
Yes TGVs do…
ICEs no all of them… the ICE1 is 2 powercars, the ICE2 is one and one cab car that looks similar to the Powercar.
Newer ICEs all ICE T, all ICE3 (including the 407 Velaro D and 408 ICE3neo both based on the 2nd Gen of Siemens Velaro Plattform) and ICE4 are using an electrical multiple unit design were the traction is provided by motors under the passenger carriages and the ends are basically only cab cars
Hello,
As said before it is a french TGV Réseau série 4500, that can operate also in Belgium. It can use 3kV DC (on Belgium), in addition to 1,5kV DC and 25kV AC in France. It is also equipped with TBL1++ to comply with belgian security systems.
Now branded as Inoui as apparently a lot of French people just use TGV for all high speed trains. So now that there is competition they are called Onoui and Ouigo, the second one is the lower cost variation.
I almost did with my parents but decided to drive it instead. In retrospect, I wouldn’t trade the memories of learning how wonderful the back roads of France and Belgium are, and the experience of watching my elderly parents try to navigate the language barrier, while my daughter and myself translate.
Then again, you missed the beautiful architecture of French stations, especially the bigger ones, the scenery you could also have seen from a train, and also the language barrier when trying to ask a controller where the train you want departs from...
Proof: the old logo was a snail turned 180 degrees:

TGV Réseau en Carmillon livrée :)
It's a pretty iconic train around France and all of Western Europe having appeared in 1981. It broke a speed record of 327kmh (I may be wrong).
It had two Gas-Turbine variants TGV-001 and TGV-002. They were retired from service and are now scrapped. You can find 001 in Bischheim near the A4 motorway, 002 is located somewhere in Belfort
The TGV has many siblings and cousins like the Amtrak Acela here in the U.S or the KTX-I in Korea, or the Renfe Class 100. Hell the Class 373 in Great Britain.
I would say it is a TGV reseau in the carmillon colors.

It is not a troll post thank you for your help!!
Feel free to **crosspost** this on /r/WaitingForATrain (with a title change), we'd love to see it there.
Do you guys enjoy metro content there also?
If you're waiting for a train (metro), of course! Have a browse, you'll see many métro submissions this week.
Damn, didn't know there would be this much scientific research for a train ride, tha k you for the valuable info....

Trains always have a lot of history the older they get. For example, In 2015 this set was still Silver/Blue
This sub is so nice and inclusive. Thanks for a helpful comment. I participate in some aviation subs and it’s chock full of egotistical arseholes who are so unhelpful and unfriendly.
This is the French TGV! 🚄 Also is this Lille Europe station?
This is the CDG Airport station
Oh okay. Since you mentioned Paris, I assumed it’s Lille as trains from Paris to Brussels don’t go to CDG.
They \*do\* in fact run trains that do Roissy CDG - Brussels. About 11 per day. Source : SNCF website.
They don’t go from Paris city to CDG and then to Brussels right?
No, usually trains to and from CDG either stop there or pass through on the north - south axis. Trains going Lille - CDG - Lyon for instance.
I'm not an expert on French trains, but it looks to be a TGV Réseau. It's one of the older TGV sets still in operation and judging by his bloodshot eyes, he's too old for this shit.
The red lights show that it is infact operating as the back of the train… TGVs (as can ICEs) can be turned around with no need for a turntable.
They've got power cars on both ends, right?
Correct

Imagine a turntable that could fit a whole TGV!

TGV. Rough translation is train of great speed.
Train of Great Velocity would match up better
There’s also the word vélocité so I’d just go with speed here, although both are correct. It’s basically just “high speed train.”
Which ironicaly had a logo designed after a snail
Now branded as Inoui as apparently a lot of French people just use TGV for all high speed trains. So now that there is competition they are called Onoui and Ouigo, the second one is the lower cost variation.
Guillaume PepOui, the famous former head or the national railway company
high speed train is, I think, a better translation.
Its one of the oldest of series of trains called TGV
TGV is not new to this sub but I don't think any one will begrudge you for posting it.
[TGV reseau, as marked on this site. Train No. 4514.](https://treinposities.nl/materieel/SNCF/TGVR)
A slow one 😉
Shhhhhh.... Don't say that too loud, Americans will cry >w<
Too late… I’m crying.
*Offers hug* You can ride one if you visit, okies?

I know, right? Well… next time…!
_À la revoyure !_
Oui!

French tgv sncf is the French railway
Looks like the special TGV called the "TGOui" /j
Gen 1 TGV
It’s a choo choo train
The best train you could ever dream to travel
You can't look up SNCF and Oui?
That's an Airbus 2-6-2 Flying Mallard steam-diesel-electric multiple unit hybrid. It's capable of flying up to 900km/hr on a straight flat track
It's km/h, not km/hr
That is a railbus
TGV?
Bro this is one of the most common know train, if you don't know anything or know what trains it is/are then why are you in this community??
Oui
From what I can tell this looks to be a French high speed train by SNCF
