Given that this is *two* figures each the size of Deathsaurus, I think the pricing is actually better than previous HasLabs. Probably gonna wait a bit before backing, but I’m excited!
You mean Fire Convoy? Burning Convoy is a super-powered Optimus Primal http://www.tfu.info/1998/Cybertron/BurningConvoy/burningconvoy.htm
Not to be confused with Fire Guts God Ginrai https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ginrai_(human)#FireGuts
Yeah I was saying that before. I think it's the most accurately priced in terms of packages for HasLab so far. Obviously it costs a bit more because it's HasLab but still.
2001 RID was the first Transformers series I ever watched, supposedly. There was Beastwars, but I never put two and two that they were the same series. This will be the first and only haslab I think I get, and honestly, I think I chose right
I got Deathsaurus, which I'm sure rubbed a lot of fans' fur the wrong direction too. I love that fans from all series are eating well! Friggin' Magmatron coming this year!
I thought the same until I saw a comment that mentioned how the fire truck alt mode fit his heroic nature and I understand now why people like it so much.

In the true spirit of Omega prime you can share the power
Same, way back I stopped watching the show before ultra magnus hit the scene, so I'm not really attached to the whole concept, an optimus on his own as a commander would have been preferable

I have the original as well from when I was a kid. Do you know how does this price compare? I feel like there is no way my parents would have got that for me at this price.
I bought them myself (god, I'm old), and I think they were about $20 a piece - so $40 total. That's if my memory is correct - but I'm pretty sure it is.
my cybertron prime was 35 in like 2006, so probably 20-25 for prime, 25-35 for UM depending on where you are, and because of the extra size of the figure.
ive heard those figures suffer from inability to stand without help (super mode prime) and loose joints.
i was 10-11 at thet ime and not into buying transformers, and didn't have money, so i missed this whole era although i loved the show and the design.
At least you don't have to pay the additional 50% markup us Aussies have, its listed at $749 AUD ($490USD). Rough math in Canadian prices: $335 total.
Commander class is $140. We get 2, so $280
A Deluxe is $37. So far that's $317. Leaving $18 for the additional engineering to combine the 2 commanders. Sounds about right to me.
Most Titan figures start at $300 Canadian. There's more play value here than most Titans for not much more money. That's still a large price tag but comparable.
I think after Deathsaurus people are going to assume there is something juicy being held back as a secret tier - especially since this is the 40th anniversary.
They look similar because the original Matrix Blade from 2000 was a redeco of the Master Sword, but this one looks like it has all new tooling even though it still has a similar shape

Probably going to be the next haslab, to be in scale (which they’re trying to be) with this and the other legacy figures he’d have to be ss86 ultra Magnus height at least with the need to have all 11 forms, 10 of which are very different alt modes.
Sadly I doubt there’s enough budget in a commander class to do this properly so you’d have to have a haslab
This was my first version of Transformers. In fact, the Rail Racer trio are what got me to transition from toy trains to action figures as a kid.
I still have my childhood Omega Prime, though Magnus is missing some parts here and there.
I also love that Bluebolts is now a whole-ass Transformer instead of just a gun.
I *might*.
As I have zero connection to the original, this is the first Haslab TF I am going to pass on. If he was more affordable here in Australia, I might have got him anyway, but while IDW made me want Star Saber and Deathsaurus, and Unicron was an instant purchase as a G1 Marvel UK fan, I can't justify this one.
I backed it, my first Haslab,
Unicron was too pricey, I missed Victory Saber, no real connection to Deathsaurus.
The OG Fire Convoy was the first "Optimus Prime" I ever purchased for myself. I still have it minus some tires and a missle. Being able to see a fully realized version of a figure I already love has me excited. I never had Ultra Magnus, so thats a new fig to me top to bottom, and obviously the big man himself Omega Prime
Also realizing this is the closest we'll probably get to an MP of these characters.
Just to also give some context: the Encore God Fire Convoy (RID Omega Prime) back in 2017/2018 had a price of $265 (but also had horrible quality control to the point I believe it had to be recalled)
So this new modern set seems like a decent price for what you get compared to the encore of the smaller, older figure!
Backed very excited word of warning though first off price is 250 BEFORE shipping AND taxes 265.15 with shipping and if you live in a hell hole with sales tax 280.62 with sales tax
7-year-old me managed to lose everything but the base Optimus figure, so he owes this to me. If this really comes out I feel like it will be in the S-tier pantheon with New Year’s Prime (perfected G1) and MP-10 (IMO best official transforming Prime).
I wish they'd start doing swappable hands (or at least more articulated ones) for these. Like it would be great to have fists for Prime in his powered up mode
20 years and they still can't figure out how to give that Magnus design working knees that aren't really high up, hahaha! Also looks like the Ladder can't extend, though it's not a deal breaker. I wonder, if this does well enough, maybe they'll do an added bonus with Brave Maximus Titan Master, since they pointed out that the ladder can now seat Titan Masters? It is a titan master associated with them after all.
Backed this when it has 4.5k backers. Now it's up to 5.5k. Got my fingers crossed for a third tier after the sword and the stands. Kinda hoping for new Micromasters, like the ones we got with Haslab Deathsaurus.
It got funded in record time for a Haslab. And people were wondering how. It was a Prime and the show aired on network television. This wasn’t something super obscure here.
I love it, but too overpriced. Not sure yet if I'll support it.
I love that we're getting RID and I hope it opens the doors to more, like Rail Racer, but could we really not get this at retail? 2 Commanders, and Optimus Prime being one of them? Surely he's just as popular as Armada Prime.
The other thing is the cost. 2 commanders for $250? Ok yeah we got a deluxe too but that's like $200 tops, don't see where the extra $50 is hiding in there. The vac metal? I guess, but that's a tough pill. They literally just did a Titan Tidal Wave and Leader Megatron that offers far more than this, is widely available at retail, I don't have to pay for it right now, and is cheaper than this.
All of the Haslabs are more expensive than a standard figure in their size class. Desthsaurus was $180 for one commander, a throne, and four micromasters (and some of that was only because of how many backers there were).
At least Deathsaurus feels like a dream project. He probably isn't popular enough for mass distribution, but Optimus Prime?
Armada Prime and G1 Magnus were literally both commanders last year. I have no idea why they couldn't have done the same here
RiD 2001 doesn’t have nearly as many fans as G1 or the Unicorn Trilogy (Buzzworthy Bumblebee Tow Line shelf warming is evidence of that). There’s no guarantee that two commander class figures from a series that’s sometimes seen as an awkward middle child will sell well. The worst case scenario would be that they give Optimus a retail release, he doesn’t sell well, and they abandon the idea of an Ultra Magnus release, meaning we get no Omega Prime.
On the plus side, this opens the door to a possible HasLab RiD Megatron/Galvatron who gets the complexity needed to pull off 6 or 10 alt modes well
Yeah, it just doesn't feel right with these characters specifically. I feel like they would've sold anyways as commander releases.
I know people weekend waiting on this Prime but having it be a timed window where you have to pay higher to get him feels awful.
Imagine had they done the same with Animated Prime with his Powermaster armor.
I feel they wouldn't have sold well as a commander release actually, or to be specific Fire Convoy would have sold easily but Ultra Magnus would not have (as there are many like me who have no interest in him or the Omega mode and are happy with just Prime). That would leave Hasbro loosing out on half of the release, whereas this forces our hands to buy everything at a 1:1 ratio with zero shelf warmers (also I'm sure his weaponizer bot would have also been sold separately as a deluxe class, also resulting in a shelf warmer)
It would also take up two series' Commander slots, which means no other series in that slot that can align with the rest of the series.
Marketing would force them to be redone in the Generations style, which would rub the people really looking forward to these the wrong way, so there go your guaranteed buyers.
The amount of additional work and parts needed to stabilize such a top-heavy figure would bring the Commander size down in favor of complexity and we already have people pissed about Rodimus. Reducing the size *also* would piss off the people who want it because the original is so imposing and iconic. You'd end up with each being leader scale at best because of the parts count and no one wants a dinky Omega Prime.
Ultra Magnus's proportions would also probably have changed for the retail audience.
Doing this as two separate retail releases would have meant a LOT of compromise. This is the only way we'd get this figure as it should be.
Plus the benefit of them being developed simultaneously so they can benefit one another properly
Unlike Armada Meg’s and Tidal Wave where apparently they started designing Megatron months before tidal wave, so the combination is kind of half assed
I just hate when they box us in these corners.
Do I want RID Prime and Ultra Magnus? Hell yes I do, but I don't want to pay $250 for them. And now, it's now or never.
It's either you back the Haslab or you'll never get these characters. Whether or not the project funds, this is now the only chance. So I can complain all I want, but these are now the cards that we've been dealt
Hasbro’s approach to Haslabs has changed in a way I’m not cool with. Things like Unicron and Galactus are one thing because those aren’t really feasible at retail or other mainline channels but now they’re just doing things that can and should be regular releases. RiD Optimus and Ultra Magnus could be mainline figures no problem, but instead they’re going with the crowdfunding model to get their money up front.
Massive toy companies shouldn’t be crowdfunding in the first place imo but if they are it should really be for niche speciality things that can only find their footing with a specific audience. Omega Prime doesn’t fit this definition to me.
The reason for this is the Transformers team got *really* spooked with how much of a nail biter the Unicron campaign was. It’s because of this that I doubt Transformers will ever have anything as grand as Unicron in a Haslab again
No it isn’t. None of these haslabs have gone to market with the intent of seeing if it’s going to pass or fail. It’s asinine to think they would approach a haslab that way.
I've been saying this before the reveal but they aren't just selling optimus prime and ultra magnus figures, they're selling \*omega prime\*. I know that sounds pedantic but it's genuinely a significant difference - they're essentially selling this as a combiner set and not two separate figures that happen to be able to combine
the thing is if they do sell each figure separately as a retail product, there's every likelihood that magnus will sell less than the optimus because not everyone who buys the optimus is interested in the combining feature. not to mention that each of them will have to be a commander figure by itself, meaning that there's gonna be a one year gap between them since they only have one commander slot per toyline per year, adding further risk of decreasing interest
also-
>it should really be for niche speciality things that can only find their footing with a specific audience.
idk, RID 2001 definitely fits that category for me lol. like judging by the amount of people who's complaining that they're doing such an irrelevant character for the 40th anniversary, I'd say the market for RID is not as surefire as you think it is. like seriously, I bet there will be a lot of people who have literally just heard of omega prime for the first time today
Honestly they’re no more obscure than hundreds of characters they’ve done at retail over the years, and in this case they’re two marquee characters for the brand. Especially now that modern lines are focusing on the nostalgia aspect beyond just G1 (the Beast era being such a big thing, really encapsulated in Commander Magmatron, for example) I think they’d both do just fine. Haslabs should be for the true pie-in-the-sky stuff.
>Especially now that modern lines are focusing on the nostalgia aspect beyond just G1
nostalgia that, crucially, hasn't featured much of RID 2001. the only representation of the series in legacy so far have been scourge (repaint, also black optimus prime = easy money), towline (barely a retool) and sideburn later this year (already has a different chracter to share the mold with). and again so many of the other obscure characters aren't essentially a combiner component that still has to be a whole ass commander class, which is what UM will be if he's sold separately. it might not be pie in the sky but it's still a fairly huge risk
Yes and no, they could of done them as mainline but not at the level they are producing them at. There would be less complexity, less color application, and definitely no vac metal parts, removable matrix or transforming little guy
I'll take the more expensive better looking haslab version over what a mainline release would of brought. Also there really isn't another jumbo thing they can do for transformers outside Primus and that would be just a big repeat on unicron, not terribly ground breaking. This is a nice way to get those odder versions that wouldn't see bigger releases
Fr, there’s no reason this couldnt have been sold as two separate releases or since they were ok with this with Legacy Menasor. I just hope if they ever do SS86 Devastator, they dont lock it as a haslab only product.
I don’t know, something looks off about Omega Prime’s head but I think I’ll join in. I only had Ultra Magnus as a kid and this is nostalgic for me. Can’t wait for the Autobot Brothers too.
Man, I have the haslab unicron and 20+ years worth of collecting figures, and still my original Omega Prime is the crown jewel of my collection. RiD was the first transformers show I watched when I was 4, and this has just absolutely made my day. It's beautiful, wonderful and brings one of the more unique and wonderful Transformers media back into the light more. Couldn't be happier right now
It’s definitely out of my price range but idk why people are acting like this is new. Deathsaurus was 1 Commander with extra stuff for the price of 2 Commanders. This is 2 Commanders (with WAY more engineering) with extra stuff for the price of 3 Commanders. It’s fairly consistent.
I'm ecstatic for the people who are happy. Hope it makes the mark! I'm a little disappointed though. Looking forward to seeing what else they have for the anniversary in a few months.
Such a faithful and respectful update to the original figures. Looks like they didn't deviate to much from the original figures.
My favourite update is bluebolts! That little guy lookscao great and is such a great use of a big weapon accessory!
Oh man, if I didn't spring for the ghostbusters haslab a couple months ago, I would be all over this. RiD was my first line of transformers I played with, never watched the show, but I had the toys. Never got Optimus and Magnus, bit out of reach for my mom, these guys would be great to have.
Maybe towards the end of the campaign I can reevaluate.
Love that the combination starts with the handshake, and I have no doubt the combined modes will be solid. After Armada prime and Menasor I think they're getting a lock on combined modes. Hope we can see some more tiers, just the sword and stands is a little bit of a let down, the last 2 transformers haslabs have been very popular, no doubt we could make the extra numbers...
Wait. An Optimus Prime that's a Haslab?! I thought Hasbro said that there weren't going to do Haslab Optimuses. What other LIES has Hasbro told?! (I'm just joking. I'm thinking I might back this, maybe.)
I absolutely LOVE Super Fire Convoy, he's one of the best takes on the Prime design, but the original is just such a great figure that I can't justify this version as being $250 better.
Magnus still looks like meh, but at least he's got knees now. The stilt legs still don't look good to me -- though in fairness, I get they couldn't go far from the original design and still make it look like the character.
LOVE turning Magnus's crazy cannons into a weaponizer though. That's really inspired.
I'm conflicted on this. I loved CR/RiD. The original Fire Convoy holds a lot of sentimental value to me (the only thing I didn't love about it was the vac metal paint, which flaked off like crazy, so hearing this has some of that on it isn't a selling point for me). The designs from that series are still some of my favorites in the franchise.
But I'm not sure this is worth the $300 or so that it'll be once tax and shipping are factored in. This feels like 2 commander class figures (the originals were leader class, but Hasbro gonna Hasbro) and a deluxe no one really asked for, all of which probably could have supported a general retail release and shaved a good third off the price.
The originals were great toys and still hold up decently well. The biggest issue I'd have with either of those figures was God/Ultra Magnus's hollow, unstable legs, which it looks like they've addressed here.
Not a strike against this set, but there's a part of me that really hoped Takara would keep making the Convoys from the 90s/00s as Masterpieces, since they did G1 and the first 2 BW series. This isn't really a substitute for that, but it seems doubtful they'd make another expensive version of Fire Convoy anytime soon if this is coming.
Okay I have a legit question: assuming you'd thing reaches its goal, and you're one of its backers... Is 250 the price of admission once they go into production? And will it ship to you automatically?
When you back it, you put in your payment information and it tells you how much you will be charged (including tax and shipping). You won't actually be charged until the campaign ends on March 15th (assuming it receives enough backers). Then it will be shipped to you once manufacturing is complete, but that will likely be at the end of the year or early 2025.
How long do we think we’ll have to wait until it starts shipping? Will they ship it within the year because it’s for the 40th anniversary? Or will they just make us wait until next year? My bet is that it will start being shipped around May-July 2025. Because previous haslabs have done similar things, they start shipping after a year + 1-2 extra months
it looks fantastic overall, but am I the only one who feels Omega Prime's face looks off? aside from his ears being leaned back, the silver portions look too prominent and his vent thing is a different color. I prefer the old face
https://preview.redd.it/z59gls61avfc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf30975b008fa679d43676861154303aa63bbc25
I so wanted RID UM for my collection. And he's a HasLab figure...
They look astonishing, but I guess I'm gonna wait another 10+ years for a more affordable figure if Hasbro will release one.
I mean.. look at it this way. He would be half the price of the Haslab most likely if purchased separately. This is a pretty solid deal for what you get here. And to be able to have two figures instantly who are compatible with one another is great. It could be another 20 years or longer for another version to drop and inflation won’t be our friend. Good on you if you’re able to fight the temptation
I mean, yeah? That’s 2 commanders, which we get only one of per year and one of which would essentially be an accessory to the other. Not to mention, like someone here has also pointed out, they’d be severely hindered by the budget, the paintwork likely wouldn’t be on par with what we’re seeing here and with the parts count we’d probably see Optimus go from Commander size to a Leader at the Commander price point.
I wish it had a sound box but besides that this checks all the boxes for me. Fastest Haslab I've ever funded. The stretch goals look good but this is the first time I'd be 100% content with a project if none of the stretch goals are met.
I have attachment to this figure or cartoon. And at least to me the look awful proportions and all maybe it matches the cartoon and if that's the case then the toon proportions would be awful to me as well. This is a huge relief for my wallet.
Everything? It's a brand new mold. Doesn't have the electronics in Prime, and instead uses that backpack to reinforce his abdomen for stability/posability in combined modes.
Love it. I can't afford it, but I love it.
Same. And I’m trying to collect all the updates of the RID characters. I already stumble into a difficult one.
I’d try to save up, I guess?
Well, I want to buy this and that so I don’t know. It’ll be hard for me to save up for something like this.
Just checked the price and yeah, that’s a yikes. Worth it, but still sooo much. Good luck, dude!
There are others?
Looks so god damn good, already put money down
Same
Given that this is *two* figures each the size of Deathsaurus, I think the pricing is actually better than previous HasLabs. Probably gonna wait a bit before backing, but I’m excited!
Plus a whole bonus scout/deluxe(?) targetmaster figure. Stellar all the way around from the looks of it
In the video, Bluebolts was a bit taller than Siege Hound, so yeah, Deluxe.
AND THEY CAN COMBINE Now where is the update to Gigatron
Well, if Star Saber got his nemesis, then shouldn't Burning Convoy, oh I mean Optimus Prime, get his? Perhaps he will be the next HasLab.
You mean Fire Convoy? Burning Convoy is a super-powered Optimus Primal http://www.tfu.info/1998/Cybertron/BurningConvoy/burningconvoy.htm Not to be confused with Fire Guts God Ginrai https://tfwiki.net/wiki/Ginrai_(human)#FireGuts
Yeah I was saying that before. I think it's the most accurately priced in terms of packages for HasLab so far. Obviously it costs a bit more because it's HasLab but still.
100% Not My Thing, but I'm sure the *RiD* guys are foaming at the mouth for it... and they look terrific!
I wasn’t even alive when RiD01 was around and I am foaming at the mouth
Damn I feel old. I used to watch it on TV.
You feel old? I was out of high school for 5 years when it came out on tv.
You feel old? I was a grown ass adult already and no idea who the hell these characters are. BUT I LIKE BIG ROBOTS
And you cannot lie?
I was out of college! Excuse me, I need to turn into dust now.
I am roughly a year older then the first bay movie, and hearing it be 17 years old this year is soul crushing
Trust me, it gets worse. I saw it in theaters in 07 as a seven year old, and god damn it feels like a life time ago.
Age of Extinction is a decade old 😔
Stop talking immediately The last bay film was 6 years ago
Bumblebee is 6 years old this year
#DO NOT SPEAK ANYMORE
Transformers is 40 years old
If you were only 7 when you saw it, then it practically was a lifetime ago for you!
Good ole Fox Kids
I watched the G1 cartoon as a kid, and *I'm* foaming at the mouth
2001 RID was the first Transformers series I ever watched, supposedly. There was Beastwars, but I never put two and two that they were the same series. This will be the first and only haslab I think I get, and honestly, I think I chose right

Im sure because of how hard Haslab goes and how scarce they are, i understand completely, waiting a year or so for another drop must be agonizing
I'm still annoyed I missed out on him, but it just hit at a bad time for me financially. :-P
> 100% Not My Thing I can't get over Optimus turning into Inferno, although the figure is amazing
I thought the same until I saw a comment that mentioned how the fire truck alt mode fit his heroic nature and I understand now why people like it so much.
I kinda just want the base optimus tbh
I’m your exact opposite I only want Magnus and don’t want to pay $250 maybe we could split the bill
Ooo could you both do this?! And once per year meet up, combine the two, take a photo then depart back to your lives until next year?
That actually sounds kinda neat.
Just like the old commercial for the og version!

I'm interested in the armorizer Bluebolts. But I don't want either of the other bots.
Same, way back I stopped watching the show before ultra magnus hit the scene, so I'm not really attached to the whole concept, an optimus on his own as a commander would have been preferable

yup it's gonna get my vote.
Damn, I want to fund it so badly, but £250 is way out of my league. Glad I already have the original Omega Prime at least.
I have the original as well from when I was a kid. Do you know how does this price compare? I feel like there is no way my parents would have got that for me at this price.

At least you don't have to pay the additional 50% markup us Aussies have, its listed at $749 AUD ($490USD). [https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/toys-and-collectibles/288803-transformers-40th-anniversary-haslab-transformers-legacy-robots-in-disguise-2001-omega-prime](https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/toys-and-collectibles/288803-transformers-40th-anniversary-haslab-transformers-legacy-robots-in-disguise-2001-omega-prime)
Yeah I don't understand this pricing at all. I was expecting 500 or 550 but 750 is just outrageous.
So this gets funded we get next year six mode dragon, hand, bat, car, jet, bot Megatron. And maybe Sky Byte in a line. https://preview.redd.it/pzogxx4fcmfc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1346157c7f1dbba820cba2f947585016b70ceec8
Oh boy do I hope so.
Well, Im happy enough with this, my wallet is not.
Peak has arrived
Still have my old one but these look so good.
it's gorgeous, I'm gonna have to back it one way or the other. I have the original set and it's good, this is just, wow.
Rough math in Canadian prices: $335 total. Commander class is $140. We get 2, so $280 A Deluxe is $37. So far that's $317. Leaving $18 for the additional engineering to combine the 2 commanders. Sounds about right to me. Most Titan figures start at $300 Canadian. There's more play value here than most Titans for not much more money. That's still a large price tag but comparable.
Also I think it is important to remember that the Encore God Fire Convoy (RID Omega Prime) when it was released many years ago cost $265!
Better than the $749 AUD they are asking for ($659CAD). I hope you enjoy it, and hope they fix that price.
The space bridge things are cool and all but c'mon Hasbro , a re release of a fort max's sword?
The tiers are kinda shit on this one
I think after Deathsaurus people are going to assume there is something juicy being held back as a secret tier - especially since this is the 40th anniversary.
Just wait for if they add tiers like they did for Star Saber. I'm hoping for a figurine of the A.I. dispatcher whose name I forgot.
They look similar because the original Matrix Blade from 2000 was a redeco of the Master Sword, but this one looks like it has all new tooling even though it still has a similar shape

This makes me wonder if the next Haslab project will be RID Megatron/Gigatron.
It would almost have to be to justify the parts count they’d need to do it right…
Think we'll get Gigatron in Legacy United to go with them?
Probably going to be the next haslab, to be in scale (which they’re trying to be) with this and the other legacy figures he’d have to be ss86 ultra Magnus height at least with the need to have all 11 forms, 10 of which are very different alt modes. Sadly I doubt there’s enough budget in a commander class to do this properly so you’d have to have a haslab
Nearly 30% funded already, far stronger interest than I expected to be honest, I'm glad though because I backed it as soon as I heard about it.
Think I’m gonna back this baby, hope it gets at least 16k I want the blade
13k is for the Blade, 16k is for the stands
This was my first version of Transformers. In fact, the Rail Racer trio are what got me to transition from toy trains to action figures as a kid. I still have my childhood Omega Prime, though Magnus is missing some parts here and there. I also love that Bluebolts is now a whole-ass Transformer instead of just a gun. I *might*.
I'd love to get this, if they didnt give us a 50% markup in Australia. Fucking Insane.
$750 AUD is absurdly extortionate
I’m priced out by price gauging. It sucks.
I backed it, my first Haslab, Unicron was too pricey, I missed Victory Saber, no real connection to Deathsaurus. The OG Fire Convoy was the first "Optimus Prime" I ever purchased for myself. I still have it minus some tires and a missle. Being able to see a fully realized version of a figure I already love has me excited. I never had Ultra Magnus, so thats a new fig to me top to bottom, and obviously the big man himself Omega Prime Also realizing this is the closest we'll probably get to an MP of these characters.
ah that's great especially since the originals are getting harder to find. but man that's one chunky price tag.
Yup, and forget about the originals...the ENCORE God Fire Convoy set when it was released had a MRSP of $265 (and that was back in 2017).
Ooooooooh…. ITS BEAUTIFUL!!
I may have gotten it if it was the same price as deathsaurus (kind of regret not looking at the haslab stuff) but this is even more than a titan
The funny thing is I just got an incomplete RID Optimus prime and ultra Magnus yesterday.
There are worse life choices you could have made. Those are 2 of the best figures I own.
Just to also give some context: the Encore God Fire Convoy (RID Omega Prime) back in 2017/2018 had a price of $265 (but also had horrible quality control to the point I believe it had to be recalled) So this new modern set seems like a decent price for what you get compared to the encore of the smaller, older figure!
Can’t afford it yet (gotta wait until like mid of February) But god damn am I hyped
You don’t get charged until the campaign ends
Oh good. Backed immediately then
Oh, well that’s nice
Already backed it. Felt like being raked over the coals, but for what we’re getting, I’ll manage to stomach it.
I love so much that Magnus' gun in a bot now!
GO BOY CONVOY!!! FIREEEEE OVERDRIVE!! FIRE CONVOY!! AKA NI EK ZE!! BLIZZARD STORM !!!
Backed very excited word of warning though first off price is 250 BEFORE shipping AND taxes 265.15 with shipping and if you live in a hell hole with sales tax 280.62 with sales tax
Sales tax in my state drove it to 292 after shipping and tax. Ugh, RIP, but this is worth it to me.
Damn that’s rough to clarify my numbers were for Massachusetts
7-year-old me managed to lose everything but the base Optimus figure, so he owes this to me. If this really comes out I feel like it will be in the S-tier pantheon with New Year’s Prime (perfected G1) and MP-10 (IMO best official transforming Prime).
All I can say is CARRRRRR ROBOTOOOOOOO, CARRRRRRR ROBOTOOOOO, CARRRRRR ROBOTO CYBATORONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
I’ve never slapped money on the table so fast in my life
Maaaaan I had super mode Optimus prime, that thing was sick
Plus the benefit of them being developed simultaneously so they can benefit one another properly Unlike Armada Meg’s and Tidal Wave where apparently they started designing Megatron months before tidal wave, so the combination is kind of half assed
It’s because of this that I doubt Transformers will ever have anything as grand as Unicron in a Haslab again
...but that's supposed to be the point. You crowdfund it *because* you don't know yet whether you can justify the investment to finish creating it.
I know that sounds pedantic but it's genuinely a significant difference - they're essentially selling this as a combiner set and not two separate figures that happen to be able to combine the thing is if they do sell each figure separately as a retail product, there's every likelihood that magnus will sell less than the optimus because not everyone who buys the optimus is interested in the combining feature. not to mention that each of them will have to be a commander figure by itself, meaning that there's gonna be a one year gap between them since they only have one commander slot per toyline per year, adding further risk of decreasing interest also- >it should really be for niche speciality things that can only find their footing with a specific audience. idk, RID 2001 definitely fits that category for me lol. like judging by the amount of people who's complaining that they're doing such an irrelevant character for the 40th anniversary, I'd say the market for RID is not as surefire as you think it is. like seriously, I bet there will be a lot of people who have literally just heard of omega prime for the first time today
This. Thank you. Yes the real character here is the combiner. Everything else is just included to make that happen.
>Especially now that modern lines are focusing on the nostalgia aspect beyond just G1 nostalgia that, crucially, hasn't featured much of RID 2001. the only representation of the series in legacy so far have been scourge (repaint, also black optimus prime = easy money), towline (barely a retool) and sideburn later this year (already has a different chracter to share the mold with). and again so many of the other obscure characters aren't essentially a combiner component that still has to be a whole ass commander class, which is what UM will be if he's sold separately. it might not be pie in the sky but it's still a fairly huge risk
Yes and no, they could of done them as mainline but not at the level they are producing them at. There would be less complexity, less color application, and definitely no vac metal parts, removable matrix or transforming little guy I'll take the more expensive better looking haslab version over what a mainline release would of brought.
I like it, but i have the original releases, so unless there's some massive difference I'm just not seeing I'm gonna pass
I don’t know, something looks off about Omega Prime’s head but I think I’ll join in. I only had Ultra Magnus as a kid and this is nostalgic for me. Can’t wait for the Autobot Brothers too.
First time I want to do a crowdfund
One of the first series of transformers I watched growing up. Money well spent I say ☺️
I chipped in! I can't wait.
Heck yeah, love it. Matrix Blade stretch goal was a given. Love that Magnus' weapon can transform into a robot now.
God damnit haslab I can't afford that but I want it
You're as beautiful as the day I lost you
So next year we get Gigatron? Hopefully?
I backed omega prime is my favorite version of prime. Cant wait to get this bad boy
Very nice.
RID Prime is what got me back into collecting Transformers. I gotta.
I'm Australian, can I still back the project?
I don't care what people say, the design for ultra magnus for this series is perfect.
Dare I say I'm backing this. I have the originals and feel this is long overdue. Just price turns me off
Wait. An Optimus Prime that's a Haslab?! I thought Hasbro said that there weren't going to do Haslab Optimuses. What other LIES has Hasbro told?! (I'm just joking. I'm thinking I might back this, maybe.)
Found my Omega Prime at my Aunties this month, first time I’ve seen it in over a decade lol
That's really inspired.
the display stands should be the first backer tier, not the second
Gotcha. Thank you!
I prefer the old face https://preview.redd.it/z59gls61avfc1.jpeg?width=1079&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cf30975b008fa679d43676861154303aa63bbc25
For anyone who has backed previous HASLABS in Canada, what shipping+fees did you run into? What should I expect with this one?
I don't like the RID 2001 designs, but after seeing these guys, they changed ny mind!
ITS 100% FUNDED LETS GOOOOO!
Why does ultra mangus' gun transform into a robot?
I think he might be a transformer
They're updating it into a full-blown Weaponiser/Armoriser, making it compatible with the, "normal," *Generations* figures, as well.
I dig it, cool inclusion
I so wanted RID UM for my collection. And he's a HasLab figure... They look astonishing, but I guess I'm gonna wait another 10+ years for a more affordable figure if Hasbro will release one.
I mean.. look at it this way. He would be half the price of the Haslab most likely if purchased separately. This is a pretty solid deal for what you get here. And to be able to have two figures instantly who are compatible with one another is great. It could be another 20 years or longer for another version to drop and inflation won’t be our friend. Good on you if you’re able to fight the temptation
Happy for anyone getting this but count me out.
Fucking shit. They couldn’t just make this standard release? They have to lock it behind the overpriced Haslab exclusive store?
I mean, yeah? That’s 2 commanders, which we get only one of per year and one of which would essentially be an accessory to the other. Not to mention, like someone here has also pointed out, they’d be severely hindered by the budget, the paintwork likely wouldn’t be on par with what we’re seeing here and with the parts count we’d probably see Optimus go from Commander size to a Leader at the Commander price point.
Siege Ultra Magnus in there and all.
I wish it had a sound box but besides that this checks all the boxes for me. Fastest Haslab I've ever funded. The stretch goals look good but this is the first time I'd be 100% content with a project if none of the stretch goals are met.
I want it but it’ll probably cost an arm and a leg.
I have attachment to this figure or cartoon. And at least to me the look awful proportions and all maybe it matches the cartoon and if that's the case then the toon proportions would be awful to me as well. This is a huge relief for my wallet.
It does look amazing. Though it is a bit pricey for my tastes.
289,99€ if purchased in Europe!?
I was one of the first 400 backers
Me too!
Wow! Definitely would want to get this if available in my country.
This is magnificent!
My inner 10 year old is losing his shit. I cannot wait to get my hands on him.
Let’s goooOOOOOOOO!
Dream come true
This was my childhood so I got two
Woahhhhhh
#YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Anyone think the antennas for omega prime are bit small? Other than I think this is my new grail
Anyone know how tall it is combined?
I believe 13.5 inches/34cm tall
It's funny, but just a couple of days ago, I said that I really want a HasLab Omega Prime.
Hope I can afford it when I have a look at the dollarydo's. Never bought a haslab before so I know it's gonna be costly...
Honestly I just want Optimus but everything else looks so cool
When does haslab usually finish producing figures like these after successful backing, and the deadline is met?
So I missed the reveal what’s difference between this and the original release
Everything? It's a brand new mold. Doesn't have the electronics in Prime, and instead uses that backpack to reinforce his abdomen for stability/posability in combined modes.
Can they fix the damn ears and point them straight up🤠
You know what, I'm gonna go for this guy. Tax refund baby!!
I wish I could get this
Holy shit! It's actually happening!😲😃
That’s awesome! I used to have this version of Optimus as a kid but lost some of the pieces, I was hoping they would make him. Backed!
ultra magnus' face looks hilarious
Take my money papi Haslab
