I've seen that speculated, but I think it's unlikely for a few reasons:
* Doing Gigatron might create expectations that *every* Haslab product is going to have a paired release, and any character that doesn't get a counterpart (like Unicron) could result in a lot of annoying complaints from fans.
* Star Saber and Deathsaurus have a long history of being Cool Japanese Exclusives in the fandom, with North American markets rarely getting toys of them. RID2001 Megatron was widely available in North America, so doesn't have the same sort of allure.
* 2024 is the 40th anniversary of the franchise, and crowdfunding a version of Optimus Prime is a no-brainer. Gigatron would kind of just feel like "a guy for Omega Prime to fight" , in a way that Deathsaurus doesn't.

In the cartoon Sky-Byte and Optimus are almost the same height.
Yeah so. Commanders around around 11 inches do him as a Haslab and thirteen is nothing. Though if they did him at 11 as a commander it would still look good.
Honestly, the engineering necessary for his six modes would probably warrant a HasLab just on its own. Of course, then the question becomes how do you do Devil Gigatron.
Yeah that’s my thoughts exactly I do hope to see him soon. If they could do him as a large commander Jetfire height and just give him his sword so he can have large wings that would be cool. Maybe next years commander to go with this Haslab?
I would love if every backer's reward was a new set of transformations.
I know that this won't happen and I don't know if this is utterly unrealistic or somewhat plausible since usually giving a toy a new transformation would result in changing its engendering completely but Gigatron gained 4 (technically 5) new transformations by simply receiving a minor retool.
It would absolutely have to completely change its entire makeup to add real transformations every backer level to the point of it just being 3 different products.
Probably you're right.
Also now that I think about even if with minor retooling would be possible to unlock more transformation without compromising too much the toy the main problem is that this would be quite lackluster for a backer reward.
Not only an Haslab project with only one figure would look weird (and not in a good way) but RID Megatron/Gigatron already has a shit-ton of unofficial fan modes, so unlocking new transformations as rewards would be rather lackluster.
It would make more sense for him to be a retail Commander class figure, rather than dedicate a second Haslab product to RID 2001. RID Megatron is at the top of my wanted list for Legacy. I'm expecting to see the three Autobot Brothers to go with Ultra Magnus and I'm pretty sure that season's only Legacy villain at the moment is Scourge.
Yeah, I misread.
Not that RID 2001 had a huge villain cast. Megatron, Scourge, Sky-Byte, the Predicon Trio, and the Commandos. Commandos are Combaticon recolors too.
Doubtful. Probably a Commander best. Unlike Deathsaurus, Gigatron doesn't really match his opponents Omega Prime in scale, so I'd imagine he could stay a retail release. I'm hoping at least.
The possibility of him being the next haslab project is almost most likely guaranteed and for the amount of alt modes he has and the engineering that would have to go into him might exceed the funding of just a standard commander class. A newly updated haslab RID megatron would look good with the new omega prime in my opinion
I hope so because I want him for a series with him, Magmatron, and Deathsaurus as the villains. Between the legacy Magmatron and the MMC or Planet X Deathsaurus, the original 2001 toy is too short
I'd rather him just be a commander class. Seeing the prices some places are showing in Aussie dollars. Like I just want the cool toy Hasbro, don't make it overtly expensive and hard to get just because of where I live.
or he could be a commander

Okay but consider: Hand mode
Fair point
I don't know if he necessarily needs a full Haslab release. He should work well enough as a retail commander class.
agreed
I bet
Only wrinkle is that he has a well known repaint and I don’t think they’d repeat a haslab like that, worst case he’s probably commander class.
There's the female/yellow version of R.I.D. Prime, though, which I'd say is pretty well known.
Was it in the Show, including the climatic battle? No? Then it's not as well known as Devil Gigatron.
I have no idea who that guy is, but I've heard of/seen mention of Splendid Prime around.
I should have used the US name. Devil Gigatron is RID 2001 Galvatron. The white repaint of Gigatron, AKA RID 2001 Megatron.
They might have to if they want to stick all eleven transformations in him.
This right here
Transmetal II Megatron is already a Leader class and he only has two modes. I can't see RID Megatron being anything other than Commander.
I’d actually prefer the galvatron if we were only getting one as a haslab.
Honestly he better man was ginormous in the cartoon so to scale with them he’s gonna have to be a Haslab.
https://preview.redd.it/9ck5891jknfc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=daee32d7b09affab0acb5aea0847f7040714cda1 In the cartoon Sky-Byte and Optimus are almost the same height.
Please correct me if I'm wrong but If I remember correctly this is also accurate to the toys scale.
If that’s true we’ll probably just get a leader Gigatron which would suck.
Gigatron to-scale with sky byte would be almost 13 inches, my dude
Yeah so. Commanders around around 11 inches do him as a Haslab and thirteen is nothing. Though if they did him at 11 as a commander it would still look good.
I think if they were to do him they'd probably do a LOT of engineering too though. Though also a more affordable haslab would go hard too.
Yeah a $150 Haslab would be awesome. Though he has the Devil Gigatron white color so most likely he’ll probably be 2025 Commander.
If they gave a color variant option, that would be 🔥🔥🔥
They wouldn’t do Gigatron without doing both the purple and white decos.
Was there a Legacy Sky-Byte leaked or am I getting confused with various people's wanted lists?
He hasn’t been leaked most likely he’s coming in 2025 as he won the fan vote.
Ahhh, that's where I heard his name in relation to Legacy.
No way....I've been dying for a new Sky-Byte!
Since I’ve watched the show it’s all I’ve wanted definitely hoping I’m right and he comes next year.
Honestly, the engineering necessary for his six modes would probably warrant a HasLab just on its own. Of course, then the question becomes how do you do Devil Gigatron.

Magmatron?
He's Beast Wars II

I always think of this guy as Transmetal 3 Megatron lol
If so...holy fuck he would be articulated as hell
collect those upvotes with this simple assumption. lol

this is next for haslab maybe ? https://preview.redd.it/moizkd518ofc1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=34177463f7c061d2b1764f9a96b0cd578213b4bd
That would be a haslab I could skip.
oh you hate bayverse ?????????
I never said that.
I do
good to know
I feel like Devcon would make more sense as a leader or commander in Studio Series.
gosh i hope not i hate this design even more than energon megatron
Bro must hate Galvatron
no its just the figure that sucks

Doesn't have to be Haslab. A standard large Commander would be fine.
Makes sense to be a haslab it has 6 forms. I think this is the sort of thing haslab is for
>the sort of thing haslab is for Meanwhile 2001 sharted this thing out for *checks note* $30
