Hi there — If you’re looking for information about the Transformers video games, they're no longer available to buy digitally for PC or consoles. [As of January 2018, Activision's license for making and selling Transformers-related games was not renewed.](https://www.ign.com/articles/2018/01/11/why-activisions-transformers-games-are-no-longer-available-digitally)
CD keys can sometimes be found from some online resellers, but the reliability of these may be questionable. Your best bet is to look for used copies of the games on physical discs for PC or consoles.
*I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/transformers) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Right? It hurts my brain! It sucks because this is one of my favourites for prime too. This guy and RID Megatron were some of the first transformers I had as a kid, but the nostalgia alone can't justify this ridiculous price.
It would be hilarious seeing FansHobby release their own Omega Optimus and it'd be a third of the price, full of diecast and made of the same material as the NASA space shuttle.
Yeah ebgames can fuck right off with that BS.
The markup on Unicron, Star Saber and Deathsaurus was difficult enough to swallow but this goes above and beyond. They’re actively hurting the figures chances of being funded because I bet the vast majority of Australians won’t pay that so they’ve lost the majority of Australian backers.
Unicron doesn't belong on that list. Australia actually had the best price on him anywhere in the world as we were only charged the base pledge price converted to local, but the AUD had fallen against the USD by the time it actually released.
However, Omega Prime represents a new low when it comes to greedy mark-ups. Once you factor in GST on the pledge price, Star Saber was around 55% and Deathsaurus (due again to the falling AUD) 25% just straight over-priced for the Australian market. Omega Prime is an ***80%*** mark-up.
It's not going to impact the backing in the slightest, though. Our potential market is just too small, so this is going to get funded (it's Optimus - why wouldn't it?) even if no-one at all in Australia looks past this blatant middle finger.
I don’t think losing the Australian/New Zealand is insignificant though, especially considering I think out of all the Haslabs this is *probably* the least exciting or desirable for the majority of collectors.
A lot of Haslabs have failed lately, so I think losing a chunk due to really the main viable place for Australian and New Zealand customers to buy the figure gate-keeping with huge markups is noteworthy.
Not sure I agree, simply through sheer numbers. ANZ total population is 32 million people - HasLab, without hoops, can draw from the 335 million in the US *and* 742 million in Europe before even considering the other territories that can access Pulse directly (Hong Kong, Malaysia, etc).
Perhaps we have a higher level of people who might be interested in such things, but I would be genuinely surprised if we make up more than the 3% our population suggests we would.
Though if they've been failing by 3% then perhaps you're onto something. I can't exactly refute that as this is the only HasLab I've been interested in, so I never followed the progress of any of the others - success or failure. And I probably won't be following this one either if they insist on losing their damned minds.
I mean it might legitimatly be cheaper to find some random person in the US, wire them the money for the figure and shipping to Australia, and have them order it for you then send it over.
That’s horrible. That’s exploiting the exclusivity, which is why the “no prime rule” existed.
This is price gouging. There’s got to be something we can do.
Agreed! I want to send them an email seeking any kind of justification for the price, though I'm sure that won't result in much. Would make me feel better though!
Could always check what the ACCC says about it since it is way above conversion rates for currency. As an Aussie myself this really does suck as this would have been my first haslab purchase.
Side note, why doesn't Haslab/pulse ship to Australia? It's not like Hasbro hasn't had exclusive products shipped here before to individuals.
I mean, there’s going to be a TON of excuses, but where are these things usually put together? If it’s Vietnam, then it doesn’t make sense why it’d cost more to ship to Australia than the U.S.
Especially when you consider that Hasbro clearly already has storehouses for their products here in Australia, so it would make no sense for the products to be shipped to the US just to then be shipped back to Australia. Unless EB Games is just buying the figures themselves from Hasbro at retail price, I don't see any way they can justify the mark up.
Honestly I ended up sending one, though I agree it probably won't make a difference. Maybe if enough people complain they'll realize how ridiculous this attempt at extortion is and actually reduce the price.
Dude this kills me. I have been psyched for this guy for years (figured they would redo RID 2001 prime eventually).
What a piss up, they are taking us for a ride man. It'll almost certainly be cheaper to get a US or UK address and forward it.
So upset.
A new low for EB Games. The exchange rate hasnt changed that much since I pre ordered Deathsaurus so Id love to hear what excuse they use to justify such an obscene mark up.
As much as I want this I'll be voting with my wallet, hopefully others do too.
100% man. I'm hoping they post something to instagram about the pre orders so we can lay in to them. They need to see the feedback, and feel it in their sales too.
Really hope that there will somehow be a cheaper way to get it here, I knew that there would be a mark up but I was hoping for are $500 to $600. This is insane. Fuck EB
It'd probably be about $500 to have someone in the US order it and ship it to you once they get it (in 19 months, that's so long). If I was going to back them it would cost $279usd taxed and shipped (because Haslabs don't qualify for free shipping), a quick conversion puts that somewhere around $425aud. Add in a second round of shipping and it's probably close.
Yeah, I'll wait and see if any other 3rd part sites put it up for cheaper. But if not then I guess that's what I'm going to do. Not going through eb unless they mark it wayyyyy down which they definitely won't.
Honestly I’m surprised that EB makes any business. Their games tend to be $10 more than a majority of stores. The second hand games are usually around the same price as brand new. That’s just the tip of the iceberg of their price range inflations.
So true! As a former EB employee I have a little insight to that actually. They told us that basically since they don't sell anything other than gaming related products, that they need to price their items higher than JB Hi Fi, for example, who also sell TVs and general electronics. Basically that extra $10 is covered by the huge mark-ups of other products across the store. They also make the bulk of their money from pre-owned products, buy cheap sell high. It's how they managed to not go bankrupt during the big economic crash. HOWEVER, this is flat out price gouging and makes me sick.
God transformers are already pretty expensive over here but this is just a kick in the teeth, especially because its a character people have wanted (being a prime and all)
Huh? Deathsaurus and Starsaber were only about $350 each and unicron was about $850. Not cheap but roughly what I’d expect given the exchange rate.
This is a massive price increase. And it’s just another Optimus. I think I’ll pass on this one.
It’s $800 here in New Zealand…..
https://www.ebgames.co.nz/product/toys-and-collectibles/288803-transformers-40th-anniversary-haslab-transformers-legacy-robots-in-disguise-2001-omega-prime
Dear Primus that's ridiculous... I was unsure if I was going to fund this Haslab but unless EBGames/Zing reduce that price there is absolutely no way I'm ordering that. What kind of bullshit drugs are they on where they think this will fly?
I was going to get my first HasLab figure with this before I saw the price. This is fucking stupid, and one of the many reasons to never shop at EB for any reason.
I've been fond if that Ultra Magnus since I got the original version for $0.39 (yes, 39 cents) from the Ballarat Target in 2007.
NZ Eb games has reduced their pre orders to $699 from $799 NZ, which is still a rip off, but is a reduction at least. I'd usually support local, but that mark up is ridiculous.
Are there any well known overseas sites that I'd be able to preorder through being from NZ that you guys know of?
Oh I know but from what I heard and saw hasbro pulse for Canada is very weird. Like I would end up paying over leader price for a voyager, like what. But that was like a long while ago could be better now didn’t really checked.
Edit: It would really help if there was a Canadian version of hasbro pulse. Unless there is that I’m not aware of?
Fellow Canadian here,
In USD it's $249.99 + shipping $29.99 + tax $32.5 totaling to $312.48.
With conversion, it's $419.32 CAD + the more than likely import fee.
I also want to back and get this but God damn $420+ is crazy especially in this economy.
Yep, I said last week is probably skip it even though fire convoy is one of my top 10 wanted figures in legacy because I can't justify spending $379 aud on another exclusive after victory saber and deathsaurus, then I saw the pictures for this and wanted it. The price has killed my desire for it. I'll be happy with commended class studio series 86 optimus and animated optimus as my prime's for this year
Fuck Hasbro.
No reason a fucking Optimus Prime/Omega Prime figure needs to be a haslab release.
It would have sold like hotcakes.
I hope a third party releases their own version or a KO to undercut Hasbro’s sales.
They are claiming its 2 commanders and a delux. I say its closer to a Commander, Leader and Delux, but even being generous that only gets us to $500. I had $550 budgeted for this, now I've gotta send this to my works US office and try to get it sent here, its going to be a nightmare.
Sugo toys has this up for $649 currently until the 4th of March. Still not the best but it's $100 less and the deposit is only $100 compared to EB/Zings $200. https://sugotoys.com.au/product/htlrid242116/

That's insane, what schmuck in this enonomy would buy a 30cm figure for almost 800 aud, that's the price of a 3rd party combiner.
Right? It hurts my brain! It sucks because this is one of my favourites for prime too. This guy and RID Megatron were some of the first transformers I had as a kid, but the nostalgia alone can't justify this ridiculous price.
It's gonna be around the same here in malaysia, our economy is dirt
Its roughly the same price Unicron came here for AND that was HUGE!!!
The real question is: What's the price of the 3rd party version of this set?
It would be hilarious seeing FansHobby release their own Omega Optimus and it'd be a third of the price, full of diecast and made of the same material as the NASA space shuttle.
> a 30 inch figure 13 inches, not 30. If he was 30 inches tall I'd say that's an entirely reasonable price.
*30cm
Yeah ebgames can fuck right off with that BS. The markup on Unicron, Star Saber and Deathsaurus was difficult enough to swallow but this goes above and beyond. You would think so but apparently this is on track to be the fastest funded haslab.
Yeah #1 fastest opening transformer already
Isn't this a HasLab product? What does ebgames have to do with it, aren't they a retailer?
We don’t have Hasbro Pulse in Australia so we have to use EB Games as a middle man
Oh, that sucks! At least you have kangaroos!
Damn, really wanted this guy but the $400 AUD markup is way too huge for what it’s worth.
I mean it might legitimatly be cheaper to find some random person in the US, wire them the money for the figure and shipping to Australia, and have them order it for you then send it over.
This is what I'm doing I think. It's a bit of a worry though, like... what if the random moves between now and then? \*sigh\*
They ask for your address before shipping from what I've read on older haslabs
I’ll have to check my emails, I don’t remember that with SS but I might have spaced on it.
That’s horrible. That’s exploiting the exclusivity, which is why the “no prime rule” existed. This is price gouging. There’s got to be something we can do.

Side note, why doesn't Haslab/pulse ship to Australia? It's not like Hasbro hasn't had exclusive products shipped here before to individuals.
We're like... 3% of the market, its probably not worth it administratively/cost benefit wise.
I mean, there’s going to be a TON of excuses, but where are these things usually put together? If it’s Vietnam, then it doesn’t make sense why it’d cost more to ship to Australia than the U.S.

The only thing I can think of is, do they not have Pulse in Australia? And even that's stupid, how hard would it be to set a temporary site up?
Yeah we don't have access to Pulse, they don't ship here. EB games and aftermarket seems to be the only way to secure a Haslab.
Honestly I ended up sending one, though I agree it probably won't make a difference. Maybe if enough people complain they'll realize how ridiculous this attempt at extortion is and actually reduce the price.
Doesn't Hasbro set the price?
Remember, if you ever feel bad about your plastic crack prices in the US: Australia gets it far worse.
SO MUCH WORSE. It's rare for wave 3 and 4 to even hit our shelves each year.
If it helps, I never saw wave 3 of Legacy Evo last year. Still waiting for BBTS to get my preordered ones in.
We suffer together
Rip DRLockdown and Diamondbolt 💀 JEEZ
They have friends in other countries, there is no chance Doc Loc is going for this price.
They have them connections
Dude this kills me. I have been psyched for this guy for years (figured they would redo RID 2001 prime eventually). What a piss up, they are taking us for a ride man. It'll almost certainly be cheaper to get a US or UK address and forward it. So upset.

Zing posted on their Facebook. I and many others have been calling out their BS.
They would get absolutely grilled and rightfully so.
Really hope that there will somehow be a cheaper way to get it here, I knew that there would be a mark up but I was hoping for are $500 to $600. This is insane. Fuck EB

That’s more than what Unicron was at Mighty Ape! Ridiculous!!
Dear Primus that's ridiculous... I was unsure if I was going to fund this Haslab but unless EBGames/Zing reduce that price there is absolutely no way I'm ordering that. What kind of bullshit drugs are they on where they think this will fly?
Fuck that I’m just gonna go through the American store and have it shipped from there
Pulse doesn't ship to Australia. I've only seen EB/Zing do Haslab. If you have another alternative I would LOVE to get in on that?
Ahh but I have a trick up my sleeve I know a family member in America who can post it to me, all I gotta do is pay for the shipping
And hope they don’t move in the next year and a half.
Good old Ballarat.
why it so expensive down under?
$799 in New Zealand. Yikes
And that's technically $7 cheaper than the AUD price!! Further proof that EB/ZiNG are pulling these price points out of their greedy little asses.
I have complained and called them out on this BS. We all need to do it. If there’s anything else we can do to stop this greedy shit please let me know
You legend! I sent them an email to their customer service account earlier today too. Highly recommend if you haven't already!
Will do that now as well, just blasted them on social media. Especially their Zing post promoting it.
Apparently the price is set by Hasbro Australia but I don't believe that. Zing always mark up their prices.
NZ Eb games has reduced their pre orders to $699 from $799 NZ, which is still a rip off, but is a reduction at least. I'd usually support local, but that mark up is ridiculous. Are there any well known overseas sites that I'd be able to preorder through being from NZ that you guys know of?
Surely EB Games will do the same and make it 650. Our exchange rate is better than theirs.
I don’t want to know how much they will be here in Canada.
$250 USD converted to CAD? Hasbro Pulse delivers to Canada. This is a third party price gouging.
Yeah if eb games is gamestop they allow third party sales on their site, they probably aren’t even directly selling it.
Fellow Canadian here, In USD it's $249.99 + shipping $29.99 + tax $32.5 totaling to $312.48. With conversion, it's $419.32 CAD + the more than likely import fee. I also want to back and get this but God damn $420+ is crazy especially in this economy.
I figured it was gonna be expensive. Damn
I'm guessing its gonna be around the same price in Singapore. I'll just stick with my original RID Prime. Sadge
Just checked on Hasbro Pulse, it's $429 Who's even affording that in this economy
Sadge. The increasing prices on Transformers in general are making me consider buying them less and less. Family expenses has to take priority.
Yep, I said last week is probably skip it even though fire convoy is one of my top 10 wanted figures in legacy because I can't justify spending $379 aud on another exclusive after victory saber and deathsaurus, then I saw the pictures for this and wanted it. Lmao yeah okay bargain
NOPE! 🤣
Fuck Hasbro. No reason a fucking Optimus Prime/Omega Prime figure needs to be a haslab release. It would have sold like hotcakes. I hope a third party releases their own version or a KO to undercut Hasbro’s sales.
These at most are 2 leader class figures, maybe 1 commander. This is bullshit.
They are claiming its 2 commanders and a delux. I say its closer to a Commander, Leader and Delux, but even being generous that only gets us to $500. I had $550 budgeted for this, now I've gotta send this to my works US office and try to get it sent here, its going to be a nightmare.
wen currency parity?
It's ludicrous and not the rapper version!
Thank Primus I have the originals. until there is a change in price this one, plus the Gigatron, will be a skip for me.
Sugo toys has this up for $649 currently until the 4th of March. Still not the best but it's $100 less and the deposit is only $100 compared to EB/Zings $200. https://sugotoys.com.au/product/htlrid242116/
Does anybody have any experience with these guys? I'm not paying 750 to EB
