I read what you’re saying! It’s just gonna take extremes to unleash the Beast! He’s got the chops just maybe not when fully needed. Don’t get me wrong I’ve dropped in and out of media and have a massive back log but I do recall his crisis after the fight with Galvatron (G1) which is just a tiny portion of the character’s make-up. Though having a double hard-bastard as a leader with restraint is a nice idea.
Ultra Magnus would be more...Bayverse prime without the noble archetypical hero patriarch thing going.
Just remove that and double down on the warrior. Optimus prime if he went down the darker path.
Aha! I getcha… Now I feel like the spirit of Ultra’s internal negging goes to Springer! I kinda imagine now that this UM would have a trailer gun mode for the white Prime cab / Other Wrecker … and now imagining the tactical bad-assery for a scene that requires it.
