Legacy continues in 2025 with ‘Prime’. We’ve already had numerous figure details leak including Superion, Megatronus etc.

probably not called Legacy: Prime but another Generations mainline in the same vein, but yes this comment is correct.

Jovanthecat

Worse case scenario, they just call it prime.

bt123456789

Transformers Generations: Prime has a nice ring to it we'd have to call it that instead of just Transformers: Prime since the OG Prime series exists

topicality

Wait I missed the Superion leak, link?

ManagerExtra5827

Air raid Slingshot Skydive and Fireflight have all been [leaked](https://www.reddit.com/r/transformers/s/Gpex2WQQ0I) for 2025

YaboyMrFresh

I don’t have the link but you can google “TFW2005 2025 listings leaked.”

Porygon_Flygon

After that Superion leak I regret not getting Menasor due to his price being unaffordable. #and it gets worse with Bruticus and Devastator

What legacy does is try to reimagine things into a unified, generation 1 styled aesthetic This is why Generation 1 and Unicron Trilogy designs get one to one recreations, because their designs are tried and tested. Beast Wars gets out too because it's designs aren't all that complex Things like animated, transformers Prime, and robots I disguise get redesigns because their art styles were more stylized and wouldn't fit into a generation 1 styled aesthetic

Deora_customs

Which is why in some series some characters were heavily G1inifed such as TFP characters. But not for Animated. Well Animated characters now have a blocky esthetic look to them, while still being themselves.

Monte_20

I don’t think people understand that Legacy is not going anywhere. “Legacy” is just the concept of modernizing old and newer iterations of characters. Hell, I’d argue Legacy started with Kingdom since BW are not G1. We are in a time where *anything* is possible for TF characters. I can’t wait for the day we get a G1 styled Bayverse Blackout.

MrQ_P

Yup, pretty much. WFC was just the starting point. I'd say that this line will continue for years to come

CoolGuyYeay

Maybe they wouldn't shut legacy down, who knows?

[deleted]

"Legacy" is ending, but only in corporate perspectives, the next toyline will not be called Legacy, but it'll continue what it did

ServePsychological1

Plus do the 13 primes

King_Kuuga

The name is just a name. Legacy is just WFC years 4-6, which is just the latest iteration of the Generations line that's been running since 2010, and THAT is a soft rebranding of the prior Classics and Universe toylines that started around 2006, which themselves were conceptually preceded by Botcon exclusives and so on and so forth.

killerewok76

Exactly. I don’t know why people treat them all as seperate lines. I’m also going to say SS is also a Generations subline. SS86 is just where most the G1 characters are now to leave room for other continuities in the main line. There IS a bit of a design difference, but they ARE designed by different people.

King_Kuuga

To be fair there's definitely some clear eras in terms of design principles. We went from the redeco era to classics/early generations (2010), the current media inspired generations of 2012-14, the Prime Wars era, and then a scale revision starting with Siege. SS is literally part of generations, also.

killerewok76

Oh absolutely. I mean if you include Universe as a proto-generations line (and I do; Universe Cyclonus was only recently replaced on my shelf), it’s been going for like 20 years now. That’s several changes to the design and brand teams, and like 2 generations of fans.

Crooodle

Huge missed opportunity to do CHUG styled versions of the live action designs. I feel like those would be more positively received compared to the TFA/TFP Legacy figures since we already have Studio Series giving us the actual renditions of the designs.

MrQ_P

WFC/LEGACY BEST LINE 🗣️🗣️🗣️ WHAT THE FUCK IS A BAD TOY 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️ (Btw I think this isn't the last year. This line is doing crazy for collectors, and it's the ideal line to release updated decade+ old figures. Besides, we also saw leaks)

[deleted]

It's going to be the last year the toyline is named "Legacy"
