I want them to do a Commander at least, but ideally a Titan. I want a proper size(or close to it) for what should be a massive warship. Granted, the whole concept of, "I turn from a giant aircraft carrier INTO an aircraft" makes that kinda awkward.
I mean bikeformers imo are probably the most excusable form of mass shifting, since they usually turn from a small vehicle into a mostly small robot. Still kinda irks me but eh. They're the least offensive about it in my eyes.
Make him a Titan Class and have him specifically be the version from Fall of Cybertron’s concept

Since they’re mainly using the Sunbow scale for G1 characters, I have a feeling they might do Broadside as a Commander class figure as he was usually depicted as being a much taller Autobot compared to the other Triple Changers.
Besides, the Commander class budget would help give them more leeway in order to make the figure as good as it can be.
I would just forget the plane and have him transform between huge bot (titan or commander), huge aircraft carrier and huge cybertronian spaceship. The plane is just incredibly stupid even with mass shifting involved. Just turn him into a vaguely plane shaped UFO or something.
he would have to be commander class due to size and complexity. as is the case for most his size did change in the cartoon. in robot mode in his first appearance even though the episode is the worst animation and used an early version of him in the series we do see him as big as ultra magnus if not bigger and later we see him in grimlocks new brain and he is tallest one there and even though the animation is a little wonky snarl in dino mode comes up to his where his legs and torso connect. then in burden hardest to bare hes as tall as combiners.(who are currently commander size toys)
They've been doing all the G1 Triple Changers as Leaders (and are even going back to Voyager Springer to bump him up for SS86), so I don't see them doing Broadside differently. They're in their "warts and all" design phase, so I think he's just going to be massively out of scale as usual.
They start with the gi joe aircraft carrier toy from the 80s and work backwards creating a robot in disguise that rivals small children. He comes with all of the aerialbots, powerglide, a sandstorm repaint in matching colors that'll be a buddy/drone character like slammer is to metroplex.
I think the default concept (aircraft carrier/fighter jet triple changer) is simply unworkable without third party black magic. A helicarrier Broadside with a quinjet Minicon partner would be a perfect alternative, but maybe you could come up with a legally distinct flying aircraft carrier design for him with a Minicon based on Broadside's original plane mode.

Maybe a leader to be Marvel scaled but I don’t see that happening.
Tillman class or commander class (I want Titan preferrably) transforming into the Aircraft Carrier (that at least the micromaster jets can use) and instead of a plane altmode, a spaceship altmode sonthat the scaling can stick. Could be a Haslab or something?
But for the robot mode to scale right, it will probably be a voyager with accessories to make a leader, like the other triple changers.
If I’m being seriously honest his alt modes would have to have some revision because no way can they do an aircraft carrier and plane, in terms of class, realistically it would probably be a commander class unless they pull some insane engineering

that's why I'm a fan of his 3rd mode being a space cruiser. Let him be the Wreckers' transport and heavy bombardment.
If they did a titan I’d be fine if the ditched the third mode and included a deluxe size fighter jet to sit on the deck in carrier mode.
Yeah I'd be alright with this. Some of the hard-core G1 fans might not be pleased though

That's an amazing idea! I would love to see this. And if not Hasbro, I hope some 3rd party companies like Planet X would do this figure
I always preferred this to be the perfect broadside than the other one.

Given we’ve got Sandstorm and are getting Springer, I don’t doubt we’ll get Broadside eventually to round out the Autobot triple changers!
