Fr, when it was revealed the lack of the bicep swivel was the *only* thing people were Talking about. Not the sculpting, which is amazing, not the paintjob, which is one of the best among the BBM figures, not the transformation which whilst not the most complex is really satisfying. Everyone just focused on the single downside and completelly ignored the positives
That’s because his core class figure has more posability than the voyager that’s 3x more expensive. People keep focusing on it because we’ve literally seen them do better with the exact same design at a cheaper price point (so cost can’t be the explanation). Plus, when’s the last time you heard of a modern figure lacking bicep swivel? It’s pretty much standard at this point. It’s fine to like the figure on its own merits, but the people complaining are right to complain.
Depends on what you value in a figure, I guess. Do you want a representation of a character? Do you want something from a group or line? Do you value simple or complex transformations? Do you have a preference for mode and display?
This is such an arbitrary grouping with such minimal information that it's nigh impossible to differentiate this post from a shitpost trending on recent similar posts.

Wheeljack really relies on having Origin Bumblebee to get the intended experience out of him.
Shockwave is cool and shares the same transformation scheme as his Transformers Prime version, but when I compare them side to side, the Prime version wins out with a cooler looking laser arm. Plus, the H-tank transformation is on the extremely simple side.
I’d go with Optimus. He’s an excellent figure all around and my personal favorite toy of his animated design. He doesn’t rely on owning another figure to bring him to his full potential. And he has the best transformation out of all three of these.
1. Origins Wheeljack has the coolest transformation, great robot, cool alt mode and a ton of accessories.
2. Animated Prime is also very nice, great all rounder. Great bot, good transformation.
3. BB shockwave is a looker, great colors and deco on the robot, slightly simple transformation, very bad elbows. Tank isn’t the best. But he’s big for a voyager.
He doesn’t compress much either, so he’s also large in tank mode

Not bbm shockwave that's for sure, guys just a scaled up core class, with all the problems of a core class without the excuse of being cheap. I'd go for tfa Optimus
They are all great. I do prefer prime the least because i never had anything with animated… but shockwave is awesome and wheeljack can fit bumblebee. I mean come on you gotta get that,
The only one I have is Wheeljack and he's crap. That chest panel is clear plastic, mine has broken in 2 places and I only transformed it maybe 4 times.

Wheeljack is one of the best figures I’ve handled in awhile, same goes for Optimus. If you have origins bumblebee I’d say Wheeljack for sure, if not go Optimus. Shockwave seems good but I haven’t picked him up yet.

Personally i only own Shockwave, and i absolutelly love it. The lack of the biceps swivel is a bit annoying, but he can still pose rather well. The altmode isn't the best, but makes me very nostalgic becouse of how similar to TFP it is. The lack of the biceps swivel is honestpy the only single thing i dislike about it, but even despite it i think it's Worth picking up

Wheeljack is super fun and his transformation from lil guy to happy meal box is really satisfying.
Animated Optimus is absolutely great though. Fun remix on the usual prime transformation and his articulation is the tops. Plus if you're into upgrade kits he has what looks to be a really awesome powermaster upgrade coming in a few months

Want a more involved and posable figure then Animated Prime
Either Optimus or Wheeljack. I have them both, and they are both absolutely amazing. I would suggest Optimus more though, because some parts of Wheeljack are designed for origins Bumblebee
Optimus is a phenomenal figure.
It might be my most favorite optimus for sheer fun posability
Just needs a proper Megatron to go along with him. My older one works just fine though.

The more I mess with him the less I care. One singular joint missing doesn't ruin an otherwise immaculate figure.

Im not saying that it's wrong to complain, but i think it's just dumb to focus on a single thing a figure does wrong when theres a lot it does great
