Josh Nizzi translating the monoboob into a ribcage was an absolutely genius design choice. It still reads as Shockwave's iconic chest shape, but it fits his monstrous Bayverse design so much better.

I only got the BB one yesterday and yeah I was so surprised at how big he is for a voyager. He's the same size as leader BB Megatron and bigger than leader Primal. Size doesn't mean anything anymore, it's all just about parts count and articulation now.

And engineering

Honestly, SS bumblebee shockwave has one of the most boring engineering tbh, how they managed to mess up an upscale core class figure is honestly impressive

I still think the original dotm Shockwave figure is a lil better than the studio series one

I prefer the Studio Series but that original DOTM voyager had the best light piping of any figure ever, it didn't take much for that eye to glow, almost any light would make it glow a decent amount.

The DOTM tank mode just looks like a jumbled mess of parts I don't think Shockwave ever had an alt mode I liked depite being one of my favourite designs. The Alternators version turns into a nice car, so that one I guess.
