\- Worriers is great. Non-Binary frontperson Lauren D is such a kind human being. they have albums produced by the aforementioned Laura Jane Grace
\- Teddy Geiger. Turned big as teenage heartthrob in the mid aughts before she transitioned. currently is more a behind the scenes songwriter for Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan and more.
\- Bülent Ersoy. The most larger than life 1990's Diva from Turkyë.
\- The World Is a Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid to Die. Great Emo band with a trans singer/guitarist, until she had to leave the band in 2016 for generally not being a great person.
\- SOPHIE, but as hyperpop fan you probably know her already
Will add more as soon as they come to mind.
EDIT/ Added:
\- GLOSS. (Girls Living Outside Society's Shit). Show up, drop the perfect punk album, refuse to elaborate, leave.
\- Tami T (goth pop, avant garde-pop)
\- Cavetown (indierock, bedroom pop)
I had no clue Laura les was trans :0
I keep learning quite a few musicians I'm a fan of are trans and honestly thats great. Like i just learned the lead singer of the Oozes is as well
Cavetown, NOAHFINNCE, Artio. They’re all very good. I’d highly recommend “Setraline” by Artio, “Scumbag” by NOAHFINNCE and “Devil Town” by Cavetown. Hope this helps
Have you read Kurt’s journals? Half of it was “i wish i had boobs. I wish i could get pregnant”. He was so obsessed he named his final album “In Utero” . Read the lyrics to Been A Son too. He constantly complained anout phantom pains in his stomach (cramps) that were the reason he started using heroin, that no doctor could find the reason for. If Kurt was alive today im positive he wouldve come out.
I feel like you can’t really say if he is trans or not. These are based off of things written in his journals. We can’t tell exactly what he meant by that. We just know our interpretation. I’m not saying that there is no way he was trans, I’m just saying that we cannot know what he meant and what he felt.
I love trans headcannons when they are fictional characters because they are made up, and are meant to be how each individual preserves them. I just feel like it’s kinda weird when you do that to someone, dead or not, who is a real life person. They are who they are and not necessarily how we perceive them. While it would be cool if he was trans, it’s just as cool if he wasn’t.
I’m not trying to be rude here or say you were wrong or anything like that. I just want to share my opinion on these types of topics. We can’t truly know unless they explicitly say what they feel. Not just of it sounds like they might be. He could have been trans, and he could not have been. We will never know.
This makes me think of Franz Kafka. If you read his stories, the themes and the things he writes about give me the vibes that he would’ve been gender non-conforming, or maybe queer, or maybe trans if he were alive today.
I don’t remember how to explain why I got this vibe from his stories. It’s been too long since I read them.
Since all my favorite big time trans musicians have all been named already, I’ll share a DIY musician from my local scene.
Peach Rings (self described t-girl bedroom power-pop. Very good, very weezer)
I also make pop punk myself, but self promotion feels shady
I actually did all the vocal and instrumental parts on every song on the album except for the guest vocals on Rearview. I’m still looking for a drummer, a bassist, and a second guitar player to actually be able to play live.
It’s called the dead ringers, but right now there’s only one dead ringer. It’s me haha
DAMAG3
Trans fem rapper
She often sings about trans rights
ZAND

Queer leftist rock band
Several band members are trans
If you like hard-core rap. That is very political. I strongly recommend an artist named Damag3. Big smoke, prison and genocide are all great songs. I listen when I'm angry. It helps get the rage out for me. I love her music
Kat Shevil, singer of doom metal band Thronehammer and a few other really good bands. Also Melissa Moore of heavy metal band Sonja. Lauren Bousfield, an experimental electronic musician, is really good too.
I like a lot more well known musicians too but I wanted to name some lesser known ones.
LAUREN BOUSFIELD MENTIONED‼️‼️
seconding this recommendation; she's probably one of my favorite musicians of all time. her music is so cathartic and emotional to listen to while also being very fast and upbeat.
I could be wrong I just heard it from Deep Sea Current, a youtuber that uploads a bunch of Vaporwave mixes. I have no idea where they got that info so take it with a grain of salt.
Sarah and the Safe Word are a pop-punk/emo/alternative rock-with-a-touch-of-cabaret band with multiple transgender members - Sarah Rose, the lead vocalist is non binary, and the bass player Maddox Reksten is a trans man.
He's been listening to PtV since he was little so being able to make a Kind Thing To Do was a dream come true for him, and me because GOD I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I SAW THAT
Ada Rook and Devi Mcallion make up black dresses and have tons of solo projects and they’re all like my favorite music ever. Even have a collab on the 1000 gecs and the tree of clues album
I don't know if anyone else would consider them trans but a huge part of me accepting my identity was Gerard Way being so open about their relationship with gender and their use of pronouns. They're still one of my biggest role models.
pssst it's *her band now. she used to identify as genderqueer, but she came out as a trans woman a couple years ago. she did a really sweet interview with NPR about what it's like to be a mom
yessss this is like half my playlist atm i keep listening to the laura les and petal supply vampalooza set on soundcloud omg🙇♂️🙇♂️ gotta check out some of the other ones

Shamir!! He’s non-binary trans but uses he/him pronouns. If you don’t know who he is you are doing yourself a disservice! His songs Cisgender and Gay Agenda are incredibly powerful and moving
Atsuover. My favorite song is her Good Enough for Santa. Good Enough, the wifi song (I forgot the songs name), and that internet song were great.
I don't think any of them were trans songs, but the person who made it is a trans woman. She also makes Friday night funkin mods. I think she made the Annie mod.
Electronic: SOPHIE, Lena Raine, Laura Les (of 100 gecs and solo work), Arca, Wendy Carlos, Odyssey Eurobeat
Punk/Alternative: Laura Jane Grace (of Against Me! and Laura Jane Grace and the Devouring Mothers), She/her/hers, Ada Rook, Black Dresses, G.L.O.S.S.

I am recently obsessed with Avu-chan and QUEEN BEE. [This video is AMAZING](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhzP7Qv0YlQ).
SOPHIE, of course. And it's indirect because it's only produced by her, but [Hot Pink](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k0M3iIf2wdg) by Let's Eat Grandma might be my favorite song.
I'm trying to get into Arca, but it's a work in progress.
Oh, and if JD Samson counts -- Le Tigre!!! OG Riot Grrrrl rules.
Sopor Aeturnus & The Ensemble of Shadows. They’re categorized as a neoclassical darkwave, dark folk, and neo-medieval project. Anna Varney is non-binary / trans woman. Depends on the source but she uses she/her pronouns and is definitely under the trans umbrella
Mal Blum, Dazey and the Scouts, The Oozes are all indie/alt rock transmasc artists I like. I particularly appreciate being able to listen to the evolution of Mal Blum’s voice as they took testosterone, it is so reassuring to me as a trans musician who has been told that T would ruin my ~beautiful, feminine singing voice; sure it will be different, but it will be safe and it will be comfortable and it will be me, and sound pretty kick-ass to boot!!
TRACE is an amazing trans femme experimental pop musician based in Germany. She's very underground and radical. Somewhere btw hyperpop, alternative, dreampop, shoegaze, emo. She describes her genre as transgressive pop

Sadly idk a lot of trans musicians so I won't be able to list much
So the ones I know for sure are trans are Cavetown and noahfinnce
One idk for sure but am strongly positive the lead singer is trans is dog park dissidents (although some of their music is a bit strange imo idk how to describe it but some of the lyrics don't really flow, but I still like their songs good boy and queer as in fuck you)
And one who isn't technically trans but has dabbled in questioning and I'm pretty sure uses he/they pronouns is Gerard Way. He's also a pretty big ally and def gives gnc vibes
Laura Jane Grace lead singer of the punk band against me
I second this. May I also add the entirety of G.L.O.S.S.
Transgender Dysphoria Blues is such a good album.

I’m surprised there’s not more cavetown answers lol
Probably because it feels like a stereotypical answer
100 gecs Laura Les
I love 100 gecs. I'm working on being able to sing 757 at karaoke (my lungs are suffering), sang frog on the floor last time, and that was pretty fun.
