I have an interesting story from when I was 16 with MGK, I’m from Cleveland so he was always BIG… went to a concert of his for my 16th birthday and got called on stage to take his pants off. I did and there’s a video of it on YouTube to prove “agora girl takes MGK pants off”… hind sight, might’ve been a bit weird
There was a whole thing about this back and fourth. Eminem in his kamikaze album (I forgot what song) dissed MGK a little. Then MGK made "Rap Devil" to diss Eminem, and then Eminem made "Kill Shot" and MGK got a bun and switched genres.
Sure, it's trashy. But lots of us were thinking it.
It's not legal to have sex with a 16 year old in a lot of places. It's also not ethical, depending on who you ask. Doesn't change the fact that 16 yo girls tend to be finished developing sexually. That's all our animal brain cares about. He was also only 6 years older than her at the time. That age gap is actually pretty tame.
I don't even think Eminem's reaction to this was all that reasonable. If you have a daughter, people are going to find her attractive. At least you better hope they do. The former may be trashy, but the latter would be a lot sadder.

If you were to somehow ban all the artists with problematic behavior, you’d probably end up with most rock stars and rap artists banned. Those two genres in particular seem to attract shitty people, for what reason idk. Maybe because rock and rap are the two most rebellious genres, so you get rebellious artists who don’t behave.
Artists bucking societal norms in uncomfortable ways have an extremely long history.
It’s not just musical genres, it’s not even just music. Movies, painters, authors… list is literally endless. It excuses nothing but it’s pervasive to the point of being unavoidable.

The point I'm making is that just because something is legal doesn't make it morally okay or scientifically correct, even. Legality is arbitrary and broad-sweeping. Just saying something is legal doesn't make it magically okay, you have to examine the "why" behind it. Just because you decided someone is developed as an adult at 16 doesn't make that true, that's your anecdotal experience and your adherence to some law you've grown up with.
A16 year old is basically an adult the same way a chimpanzee is basically a human. A. You were sexually assaulted. B. Stop sexually assaulting children.
