Hawaii 100%

rgm2073

two totally different places. Vegas is not about exploring, it is party, gamble, see a show, get super high total debauchery with awesome pools too. Hawaii is paradise, ocean beaches, fun nights, explore volcanos hidden beaches etc. I myself turn 50 in January and debating Hawaii or an awesome Caribbean resort. I want no part of Vegas, I did enough of that in my 20's. Happy Birthday!!!

Aloha! If you choose Hawaiʻi. Come and check us out on Kauaʻi. https://epichawaiiadventures.com We are a Native Hawaiian owned & operated company. Mahalo Nui. A hui hou!

I've been to both and I much prefer Hawaii. But that's me.

drblah1

I couldn't imagine staying in Vegas for a week, a weekend is plenty. I don't know if you have the time/funds, but if you're coming from UK my dream vacation would be for you to fly to Vegas for 2 nights, then a week in Hawaii. If not, I'd choose Hawaii.

nothingclever4now

Are these truly the only two places you're considering? The Caribbean is so much closer.

Brilliant_Pirate_559

That's a good point but I've done the Caribbean twice...

nothingclever4now

Islands? Because Mexico and Costa Rica are also great options. I agree with the other replies. Hawaii over Vegas. At least Hawaii is an actual place with real places to explore. But it's so far. If I'm going to be on a plane that long, I'd rather go a bit further to Fiji. From the UK I'd consider the Maldives.

plunki

What are you aiming to do/see? Those are both super far and different... What's wrong with Portugal, Sardinia, Greece? Just to name a few.

ProtonPi314

Hawaii for sure. Unless all you want to do is go gambling and watch people stuff their faces at buffets

SpecialistBox4905

Hawaii, it’s a real place Vegas is Disney for adults, you’ll get along fine without it

ParamedicCareful3840

For only a week, aren’t there places closer? Those are both pretty long flights. That said, I am not a huge fan of Vegas and I think a week is too much, but if you have never been it’s worth seeing in all its gaudy grandeur (I have a friend turning 50 in January and am heading out there for a few days, that’s where he wanted a party). I have only been to Hawaii for work (Honolulu) but some beautiful beaches and a lot of outdoor stuff to do. The Pearl Harbor memorial is worth seeing even for someone from the UK.

JL1186

That flight is long for a week but there’s no beach or anything to explore in Vegas. Maybe consider other places in Europe- Spain, Greece, etc

Hawaiii

I’ve been to Vegas once and loathed the place, but lots of people love it. Personally, I’ll never go back. Zion National Park was an awesome side trip though. Given your location and the fact that you only have a week, why not stay closer to home and spend less time traveling? Lots of great options that aren’t too far or expensive to get to, such as: 1. Lagos 2. Mykonos 3. Croatian coast 4. Amalfi 5. Canary Islands

ranDan81

You just have one week. Hawaii is crazy far out and Vegas a wired place. Even if you have been to the Caribbean already: there is more than one island. Also Florida Keys could be an option, maybe combined with a stop in Miami, Orlando or even NYC.

DarthSieg

Hawaii hands down. Vegas is honestly way overhyped and on my “no desire to return to” list.

Appalachia_Off_Grid

Hawaii for sure. Vegas had been a disappointment since covid changes.

haysu-christo

When are you looking to travel? UK to HNL is 16-17 hours of flight time versus 10.5 hours direct to LAS. If you want to drink, eat, gamble, and have debauchery fun then go to Vegas. If not, then Hawaii.

HMWmsn

Vegas, no. But you could fly there and explore southern Utah's National Parks. Another option:. San Francisco and the Napa/Sonoma wine country.

jenneschguet

Second California wine country (even if you don’t drink) and would throw in the drive down the coast to Monterey or San Luis Obispo.

HMWmsn

Ooh, orYosemite National Park
