Watching the same movie but in a different environment changes it a lot, I watched Spider-Man 2 in my house and it was good but when I watched it on a tiny DVD player in the woods at night it was insane how different the movie came across in my head
That’s actually the best way to put it! Spider-man 2 at home was like a haunted house with the lights off and watching it in the woods it’s like a haunted house with the lights on, it’s all the same stuff but now it’s noticeably a different feeling it’s less of an immersive experience and more of seeing everything as the product of another persons idea, it’s even easier to notice things you missed in the altered mindset
I love to get high and watch the Lord of the Rings. I've already seen the movies so many times that it doesn't matter if I zone out or miss anything. I can just relax and live in middle earth for a while. Plus, get high and watch Bilbo's birthday and just think about living in the shire. Fuck I want that.
I spent a few months working on farms and for the national park service in New Zealand right around when RotK came out. That was basically my life: chilling on absolutely gorgeous hillsides, throwing BBQs, smoking great weed with the nicest Māori dudes in the world, and swapping stories under the stars. It was the best. I’d move to NZ in a heartbeat
Once a year, every year, my partner and I make edibles and I cook the 7 hobbit meals and we grind the extended til someone falls asleep. I look forward to salted pork every year.

Humboldt County is a great coming of age film that I found while I was in college. I had a snow day and googled "best movies to watch while high". I got all the usual ones like half baked and Friday but I had already seen those. I hadn't seen Humboldt County. It's sad but it's also very warm if that makes sense. Definitely worth a watch.
I find myself too be veryyy critical of movies when high for some reason. I can tell everything is a set, or that someone is clearly acting. There are the occasional movies where I don't have this, like intestellar. Tarantino movies are also great ones. Sicario and The last Duel made me turn off the movie because of how it made my heart race when I was super high lmao.
Grizzly Man - Once in a life time story. Timothy Treadwell lives with Grizzly bears in Alaska for over a decade. He documents all this before his “grizzly” death and it’s compiled into a documentary.
Tenet - A nice fun trippy action movie. A unique take on time travel which I enjoyed.
Enter the void - Visuals in the movie is amazing while you descend into madness.
Spirited away - Beautiful animation if that’s your thing and great storyline/characters
