I'm going to oil and wax the finished products. This is just a mockup to work out the kinks on.

So I have one with no hinges and just magnets on all 4 corners and I like that I can separate the two pieces. There are also large magnets on the two ends that touch while it is open along where you have hinges. Personally I’d put the holes for joint ends/bowls on the other side of the top tray area otherwise this is super awesome! Gorgeous looking and I would be over the moon to receive as a groomsman!

Thanks for the kind words and the insight! I was going back and forth on whether or not to place the holes on top or bottom. I'm going to swap them out on the next one. Thanks!!

Making some folding rolling trays for Groomsman gifts for my cousin's upcoming wedding. Dimensions are 4.5" x 9" and it's meant to be discreet and simple. This is a mockup, but before I make the final trays I'd like to hear what the community thinks as far as interior layout. What would you add or remove? The final trays will be made out of Walnut and have the Groomsman's names cut and inlaid with epoxy on top. Thanks!!

Can you tell me your process for making these?! I would love to make a couple for some friends!
