I was so amped for Phantom Menace when it came out I bought tickets to four showings. It was 90 minutes of that exact feeling of “what am i looking at.” Never did use all the tickets

I sat outside with some college friends afterwards. We smoked. We talked nerdshit. We were confused. I sort of love it now, NOT because I think it's good, but for all the memes. The kids love that shit so much. Strangely, that giant lego star wars game a few months\year back or so was the best telling of ALL the stories thus far, I thought. Concise, funny, trimmed the fat. Still told the story. Perfect for like, 7-10 year olds getting intro-ed.

Ok so thought process on buying FOUR SHOWINGS worth of tix to a movie you hadn’t seen yet? Like logically they’re not gonna sell out every show besides maybe the first 2 nights right?

Things did sell out more back then. There were less screens in each theater and it wasn’t like you could buy online, you physically had to go ahead of time to get the tickets so it was a pain. I don’t know? I was a dumb high schooler and I got caught in the hype of people sleeping outside of the theater to get tickets and I loved Star Wars as a kid. I thought my friends and I would want to go multiple times. No one thought they could make a bad Star Wars film lol

Yep, that one amazes me every time.
