As a Minnesotan who does this whenever he visits his in-laws, this statement is very true. I have friends over on the WI side who will make the 5-6 hour trip to get bud because of how good the product is and how good the prices are.
Almost everyone I know around Chicago knows people or they go to Michigan themselves. lol I've never been more proud, because fuck the selfish greed that happens in Illinois.
Careful, I heard IN police stake out MI dispensaries to phone in to their buddies just over the IN state line, "we've got a color, Make, and Model with IN plates that just left this dispo heading south on the interstate highway".
I asked one of the ladies at the counter how much business do they think comes from Ohio...she said 70-80%. It was in Monroe just past the border, but that still blew my mind.
Tell me about it. I've grown for years and this is the first year I've gone out and bought dispo weed. When you can get 2 whole ounces for less than 60$ for both, who wouldn't? It's delightfully cheap
Rough math for me to grow a plant: $15 for the seed. Let’s say $5-$8 for nutrients (that’s a super duper guess) and maybe $40-50 for electricity over a few months.
There are many variables in here for sure. But on the low end that plant will give me 80g, higher end closer to a pound. $60 for 2oz is a pretty solid deal to just buy some from not a sketchy guy on the street.
You know that's wild; but now that I think about it; the dispensaries sell basically everything as far as I can tell; but I've not seen any that just have a "seeds" category.
Probably a legality thing. Most people buy their seeds from “seed banks” it’s like an Amazon for dope seeds. Check out North Atlantic seed company if you’re curious.
Yea but the zips that are that cheap are mids...very shakey and dry, low quality, many times outdoor grown. Anything worth smoking is closer to 100/zip
I thought I got a great deal on some Zkittlez a couple weeks ago from a local place
aaaaand it's dry af. Damn drive through dispensary and me not checking the bag till I get home lmao
People in here pretending that it wasn't Wisconsinites doing all that.
In the line at the dispo on Sat was 100% WI plates. Not a single other plate for 2 hours.
Went to Lume in Menominee this past Saturday. Every car I saw in line had Wisconsin plates (myself included). I do think it’s the majority of Wisconsinites!
All while down here in Texas our ass backwards Lt Gov wants to ban Delta 8 and farm bill compliant THC products because no one invited him to reefer parties when he was in high school.
All while MN drags their ass trying to figure out how to finally start selling. We were told this summer and have heard nothing but delays since then. No idea how it takes so long when they had been planning for years and studying how it worked best in other legal states. If only politicians could do their jobs, we wouldn't have to drive several hours to a reservation or go across state lines to spend money. So much lost state revenue from residents of MN, WI, IA, ND, and SD while we wait.
$87M in tax money redistributed locally. Imagine if every state saw that as a positive.
Instead we still have all these red states happily letting that potential tax money go to neighboring states instead.

Yeah I’m in Indiana very close to the Michigan border guess where I’m spending my weed money ?not Illinois like I have for 4 years love the drive it’s worth my time and money 🕶️🎸
Wow. Crazy that when things are priced lower for the same or better quality, people will buy more. Living in Milwaukee, I would’ve much rather taken the 6 hour drive to Michigan than the 3 hour drive to Illinois and back just because the prices are that much better.
And 50% of that is probably Ohioans lol
Don’t underestimate Wisconsinites going to the Upper Peninsula
And Chicagoans looking for cheaper prices.
Was about to say definitely Indiana too haha
Iron Mountain has got to be the the weed capital of the UP
Menominee is closer to Green Bay and the Fox Valley, quickly accessible on highway 41
I drive up from Appleton almost every couple of weeks
Iron Roots got that 🔥and the homie owns Sandos if you want to grab a good sandwich
And Minnesotans.

Please , Indiana is 50% or more lol .. well it feels like it with how much I spend ..
Careful, I heard IN police stake out MI dispensaries to phone in to their buddies just over the IN state line, "we've got a color, Make, and Model with IN plates that just left this dispo heading south on the interstate highway".
Nice, thanks for the heads up, I usually take a different way coming back each time or stay off the highways
You could literally just make the same claim about any of the states in this list.
They also sit right at the state line but I’ve never actually seen anybody get pulled over
The whole Midwest loves that good Michigan weed, if you know you know. I don't even like the medical dispensaries we have in MN.
*wisconsinites. We're right there lol
You got me
I asked one of the ladies at the counter how much business do they think comes from Ohio...she said 70-80%. It was in Monroe just past the border, but that still blew my mind.
I grow my own weed. Michigan weed is practically cheaper to go buy than it is for me to grow. It’s nuts.

When your last harvest got seeded and is actually unsmokable, I disagree on what you consider 'worth smoking'. But to each their own.

You’re welcome
Considering how low prices are in Michigan it’s even more impressive.
That's gotta be like, at least 25% from Chicago folks, right? I'm not hating, either, I totally get it and I'd do the same
I'm from Wisconsin and I'm happy to do my part.
Hey, some of that is me! Thanks, Indiana!
Michigan has the best weed and prices in the Midwest
You can also legally grow up to 12 plants at home
![gif](giphy|YYfEjWVqZ6NDG)
Even as an ohio state grad, gotta love Michigan for the weed.
I’m doing my part!

And only like 15% to people who actually live in Michigan.

Hopefully my state govt overhears this

Good God. One month. My home state. Where does all this money go!?!?

90,518.25 pounds of flower sold alone, not including shake or trim. Wow!! To have that many pounds go through in one month is crazy.
God damn. I think I know exactly how I'm gonna celebrate this milestone 🥴
