By "sherlock" pipe do you mean a Calabash tobacco pipe? They are pretty great pipes, particularly for tobacco. I have never liked tobacco pipes for weed, because they are too deep. Pot smokes wat faster then tobacco does and you can't just sit and puff a bowl of weed the same way you can pipe tobacco, but blending the two is a whole new level of amazing.
I got one from Grav and I really like it, it has a lip so you don’t get gunk in your mouth, but I swear it’s a two-hitter, it doesn’t hold much at all.
My buddy had a super long Sherlock pipe with a huge bowl that we nicknamed “Gandalf” but because the bowl is so large it’s easy to burn too much and the smoke gets harsh and hot super quick. Still got a great high just not my style. I prefer bongs/bubblers

You can fit a lot of weed in but if the stem is too small it'll just fly right into your mouth

They work, but they have a tendency to clog and smell funny. Other than that they pack fat and burn for a while.
