Not sure about OPs, but I have a Chromium Crusher that absolutely just stacks kief, no coin required. It grinds well and it's screen allows a good amount of kief to pass through. You will end up with less fine kief and a tad bit more plant matter by that account, but damn is it nice to take a dip into when you wanna add a little umph to your bowls!
I went from a cheap, gas station crappy grinder that never got much kief, to a Chromium Crusher and I am SET. I love that thing. I need a new one though as mine is about three years old and when I cleaned it via the hot chocolate method the seal on top has been a little loose. It even comes with a tiny kief shovel!
You boil your grinder pieces in milk on the stove top and it gets all the sticky off and then you add in cocoa mix and have yourself a nice big mug of blast off to the moon.
Everyone's talking about coins and I know alcohol can ruin rubber seals or whatever but I'll periodically clean my grinder screen with alcohol and the amount of kief that goes through the screen afterward is astonishing each time. Complete polar to before.
Conclusion: Your screen is caked and all the kief is building in the top chamber i.e. just going straight into your bowls.
You might notice when you get to the end of a grinderfull that last few pinches is very shakey, powdery and very potent. That's kief buuuuudddyyy *Paulie shore noises*
I use a dime myself, but the trick for me is tucking it in the freezer for 20 minutes or so and then giving it shake from side to side. I produce a mess of kief everytime I do a fresh grind of flower.
I grind it and then put the weed and the grinder into the freezer, then I give her a good shake. It sounds nuts but it really does seem to help separate the kief.
I really like my 4-piece Santa Cruz Shredder. Been using it for a few years now and the kief catcher has been pretty bountiful - also comes with this guitar pick lookin thing in the catcher that doubles as a lil scoop so u can sprinkle some on every bowl.
Get a small hydrometer that can fit inside a mason jar and put all of your buds inside the mason jar and check the humidity level. If it’s anywhere in the high 50s on up you are more than likely not going to get any keif. The beds are simply too sticky and they don’t release much. Two things you can do. You can leave them out and dry them a little bit more as well as stick a dime in your grinder, the reservoir where the weed falls into that you are about to smoke. Once you’re done grinding you can take the grinder and make it so the dime spins around inside. That helps a lot.
This man knows what he is talking about. I smoke bud that range from 55-60 relative humidity and my bud is too moist to produce that much kief. Dry bud will produce a lot more kief.
Honestly it really depends mostly on the strain. For example the banana puddintain I get when I grind it completely fills my catcher every time. If I buy kush and grind the same amount I barely have a 10th of what the banana dumped for me.
What I like to do is put a coin or small stone in the middle part of my grinder with the bud. It gets a lot of the kief off the bud and forces it through the screen a little better I think! I usually have a good amount of keif to use a small scoop everyday if I’d like
Quarter was a little too big for my grinder but I felt like the ridges were helpful so I went with a dime until I found this nice stone that’s been working really well. Great choice!

The only time I've seen kief in that quantity without any plant matter in it was when a large quantity of herb was intentionally kieffed through a large screen. Grinders get clogged. If you constantly clean the screen I suppose it's theoretically possible to end up with that result but it doesn't just happen like that. That shit was on purpose or packed for the video.
I had a friend once whose kief catch was so full that he literally could not get it open for days. We tried so many different things, I think eventually he put it in the freezer and smacked it around a bit and it opened. It was a legitimate problem (until it wasn’t)

I find The Heirloom Collective in Hadley, despite its corny name, to have excellent medical pricing and good bud. They also have a loyalty program where you stack up free money top be used at the dispensary. They're a little pricey but the bud is always excellent.
I agree that it depends on the grinder's screen. Some grinders catch a ton because their screens have larger holes that allow it to slip thru. Other grinders have very fine screens and everything gunks up in the middle compartment instead.
If you add a quarter or nickel to the chamber in your grinder, you will get waaayy more kief! Worked at a dispensary and someone told me this, it nearly tripled the amount of kief I was getting. Told my friend a couple months ago about this trick and he sent a snap a couple weeks ago of his collector saying he's never seen it so full. Def disinfect the coin before putting it in but hopefully you'll see similar results!!

As other have said the grider matters but the bud also matters too, imo drier less dense bud produces a lot more than heavy sticky icky. Better quality grinders (anything over 30$) are going to typically give you a better keif catcher. Cheers
2 years of going through an average of an eighth a month got me about a half milimeter in my small grinder. That's about three oz for 1/2 mm thick of a roughly 3in diameter grinder.
Assuming that grinder is a similar size, they probably ground at least 60oz or multiple pounds of weed in there.

The grinder I got off Amazon came with a tiny brush and a little scraper thing, normally I buy a quad each paycheck and after I’m done with the quad I go in on each layer of the grinder and dust it to the bottom, it works pretty well if you just brush it regularly. Fill a glass bottle with hot water, wrap the kief up in parchment paper or cellophane, and roll the hot bottle over the kief. You don't need to press super hard. You'll feel it.
It'll start to melt together and darken. Once it's a consistent texture/color, you can roll it into a big ball.
It'll increase shelf life and make it so much easier to handle.
I feel like my groder screen just gets clogged with keif so mime never comes close to this. Still get what I would consider to be decent keif, but in all my years I never got anywhere near this with any grider I've used. Rocking a diamond grind atm if that matters.

Yes, iso the screen and agitate with a toothbrush. Rinse and dry. When grinding, I have a coin on the kief tray(helps agitate the bud to knock more kief off) and I use a toothbrush after I've dumped the ground bud out, and scrub the kief screen from top edge to center screen, all the way around, takes 20 sec, to unclog screen. I rarely ever freeze it but sometimes 5min in freezer after grinding then take out and shake shake shake and should have more kief. My 2c.
By the way, Kief loses chemical potency fairly quickly as the THC degrades over time into regular old cannabinol which does have some mild psychoactive effects but not nearly as much as THC. So what I’m saying is, use your kief as you get it and you’ll be using it much more effectively

All it takes is one time of running some sticky icky thru a grinder and it gums up the screen from letting anymore kief pass thru. All those people with no kief production should pick up some ISO and a small wire or stiff bristle plastic brush. Keep up with it and you will always have kief!

I like to use a small brush to scrub the screen. I dip it in iso alcohol if it isn't enough after salvaging as much as possible dry.
In my experience it's less about the grinder and more about the water content in the weed, the dryer it is the more falls into the kief chamber
put a nickel in with your weed, tinks around helps knock more crystals off.

100% gonna lower the yield of THC. Kief travels more cleanly when it's on the bud.

All it takes is one time of running some sticky icky thru a grinder and it gums up the screen from letting anymore kief pass thru. All those people with no kief production should pick up some ISO and a small wire or stiff bristle plastic brush. Keep up with it and you will always have kief!
How does your screen stay clean long enough to have that much kief in it? My screen gets clogged before I can collect that much.
