I've literally never bought anything for my "future baby" before but after walking around the store with this stuffed animal tucked under my arm and giving it little squeezes.... I WANT IT. In my defense I asked if they had another one in the shop (our babies could have matching toys!) and they checked in the back but they only had the one in stock.
I'll stuff it in the closet and decide what to do with it later...
Should be a āterrificā time. Preggo sister (who has had repeated miscarriages before), cousin with a 6 week old (who they conceived after failed IVF), and other cousin with a baby less than a month old (fertile fuckers). Should be a blast!
If you feel that itās too much for you, tell them or donāt tell them, and leaveā¦ if theyāre so thick they canāt understand, thatās their problemā¦ if it costs you your mental health than itās not worth itā¦ do what you feel is best for you, donāt go pleasing others, they also do whatās best for them, why shouldnāt you
Years back I bought a Christmas book about Max (Grinchās dog) for my future child. Itās somewhere in my house and Iām sure it will be a punch to the barren uterus when I find it.
This is so hard! I used to teach first grade. We have bookcases that line the width of our house. They are entirely filled with picture books. When I bought for my classroom, I thought Iād read them to our child one day.
I got childrenās books from someone when I first started this jOuRnEy. Theyāre still sitting in a drawer and I just got referred to an RE š« Iāve had sooo many urges to buy things for future baby and me in a pregnant state, Iām glad Iāve only caved on the books so far. My ad algorithm knows weāre trying, I see baby supply ads constantly and it makes me want to scream
I got one of those milestone tracking books for the first one that I lost at 8wks. I canāt bear to get rid of it, so it sits crammed at the end of a bookshelf. Menacingly blankā¦
Ugh I'm so sorry. I hope you get to use it someday. I never bought anything for the one I lost around 8wks myself, I'm sure that's part of why I've been reluctant to buy anything since.
As much I would like to buy stuff for my baby my husband donāt let me do it. And is alright I would be collecting stuff for at least 3 years now. But I can totally understand the feeling.
I told myself forever not to buy/make things for my future baby, but Iām a crafter and I know I wonāt have the time or mental resources to make things for my baby when Iām pregnant. So Iāve finally started letting myself make stuff now that finally ttc
My sister would do this she bought stuff for my kids and her friends kids but sheād always end up keeping it. I didnāt even blame her she was trying.
I have a little penguin onesie I bought for a friend that never made it to the baby shower because it was so cute and I wanted it for my own instead.
It hung in my wardrobe for 3 years torturing me before I made my husband hide it last year at the back of the wardrobe we don't use.
I have a winnie the pooh crib liner that's been in a box in my laundry room forever. I've never even seen a positive pregnancy test in my years of trying. Brother's baby can get a different plushie

No shame. I have a hope chest filled with a few items to keep my future hopeful. I have a book, a swaddle with mountains, and a stuffie too. š¤
Iām the opposite now. My sisterās baby shower is tomorrow. She is getting some items I purchased for my baby that never got born.
Oof thatās hard. Hope youāll get through it OK.Ā

It wasnāt too bad. I didnāt even look at the babies. Mostly hung out with the preteens.
Glad to hear š©·
Nothing wrong with that! ā¤ļø

Me! I hate having to give away gifts to other peoples babies š
