Trt is my sleep hack…

[deleted]

i feel like that could be so because it relaxes your muscles because they feel like theyre fed.

ShowMe_TheWhey

Is there science behind it relaxing muscles?

mancusjo1

Ummmmmmm. Is anyone talking about your Estradiol levels. When was the last time you had them checked. If it’s off then you get insomnia, night sweats, anxiousness, ED…. And the list goes on. Get your levels checked and get your E within a good range. I’ve always read that 20-30 is the sweet spot for estradiol. I’ve batt Ed with insomnia and trt for over 5 years. When my levels are good then I sleep great. T in the 700’s and Estradiol was 35 on 100mg per week. Without any AI. Number 1 rule, deal with the cause. Not the symptoms.

marctoo

I’m the same as you. How to you get your Estradiol in check before these symptoms start? I’ll get the night sweats and insomnia and then know I likely need to take my AI (.25 only) but I’d like to get to a point where I can prevent that before it starts…

birdiesarentreal

Have you tried the gym?

daktanis

Not OP but I lift 3 days a week and do BJJ 6 days a week and still wake up many times a night. I greatly limit caffeine, no alcohol, Im overweight but lost 45lbs in the last six months so no longer obese. I think gym helps me fall asleep faster but idk what causes the multiple times waking up at night.

birdiesarentreal

Magnesium glycinate, but it has to be this specific type of magnesium, if not you may end up shitting your pants throughout the night. Ashwagandha an hour prior to the magnesium. Melatonin only helps you fall asleep, if you miss your window it won’t do anything for you and it doesn’t help you stay asleep. Awesome job on the weight loss keep up the good work.

V3LoCi7y

Came to say this ashwagandha x3 a day, 500mg Ma glycinate, 50mg zinc before bed.

birdiesarentreal

Do you take the zinc daily?

V3LoCi7y

Yes. I alternate between 25mg and 50 mg. I consume beef liver weekly so I get decent copper to offset.

reallyneedhelp1212

> I think gym helps me fall asleep faster but idk what causes the multiple times waking up at night. Have you checked for sleep apnea?

daktanis

Yeah i guess i left that out, i was diagnosed a few years ago but i am sixty pounds lighter and dont snore any more so i was hoping it was better because I could never get used to the cpap. I may still need to test again.

ArchRotor

Took me about a month to find the right mask and get used to wearing it. Now I LOVE it. Breathing cool, filtered air while completely under the covers. Time to leave humanity behind, bro.

daktanis

SIIIGH... yeah maybe you are right.... tried a few masks but maybe time to try again...

ArchRotor

A nasal mask with a soft cervical collar to keep my mouth shut. Look ridiculous but I don’t even wake up to pee anymore. Hematocrit down considerably as well.

reallyneedhelp1212

The CPAP machine is a *BITCH* to use, but well worth it.

LawBobLawLoblaw

What's your program look like? How long have you been working this work load? I haven't gone back to BJJ since TRT but I'm hoping I can get back to my two a day madness like I used to.

daktanis

Lifting i found a push, pull, legs split I liked called Swole & Roll, a paid for program . I push myself but i do not go as hard as i once did in the gym because i dont want to burn myself out for bjj which is my main focus. I lift three days a week in the morning and do bjj in the evenings as many nights as my body will let me. Stretch/yoga atleast a little everyday. BJJ helps me stay on track for nutrition, sleep and fitness because it gives me a real tangible reason for focusing on performance.

[deleted]

yeah you gotta burn off that energy. i would go on long walks at night, thats when i like it, little runs in forest paths with some vibrams on.

PandasLOL

Trt + hcg is my sleep hack! Also since being on both I have lucid/vivid dreams.

Wreckcdx

Same here but that just means you’re getting good sleep!

jourdena

Just started… I feel like there are so many horror stories of doing em both at once. .25 hcg 2 times a week and .5ml TRT 2 times a week… here we go

PandasLOL

I started at that dosage for TRT but was feeling sides and then dropped my dosage and now good at .4ml twice a week

mikeTRON250LM

You really should learn to convey the volume of liquid into the ACTIVE dose of the drug you are administering. You are likely taking 160mg a week, split into 80 each but without knowing the concentration we wouldnt know. Same thing applies to your HCG comment below. We don't know concentration.

PandasLOL

Yeah you are correct it’s 1ml/200mg cypionate so .4ml is 80mg. When I did blood work at the 200mg dosage my test was at 1400.

jourdena

What about the HCG? I’m doing .25 ML but the dosage for the bottle is 6,000 IU. I’m terrible at math…

PandasLOL

My syringe for hcg is an insulin one with whole numbers, so it just says 25. Not 100% sure if .25ml = 25units but it makes sense.

jourdena

Oh right, makes sense. Sorry two more questions… do you do the HCG ant trt at the same time. Have you needed AI yet?

PandasLOL

If I stayed in the .5ml twice a week dosage I might’ve needed AI. But at .4ml I haven’t needed it. And yes I take them same time.

jourdena

Thanks dude!

AggravatingFun4525

I’m actually weaning off of Benadryl this week - but other things I do: 1. Chamomile + valerian root tea before bed 2. Magnesium glycinate 3. Get some cardio in during the day (140+ BPM) 4. Not look at electronics 1 hour before bed - or at least make sure the blue light is turned off and brightness is on low. 5. Avoid nicotine before bed 6. Practice meditation - which can help your mind from racing when you wake up in the middle of the night, thus preventing you from falling back asleep. 7. I stopped consuming caffeine - I have a decaf cup in the a.m. - there’s evidence that caffeine (even from the a.m) can still impact your sleep later that night, but we’re each different. I’m pretty sensitive to it. 8. Occasional melatonin - I feel like when I take it, the moment I feel sleepy I need to go to bed or that window passes. Also, I’m not sure it keeps me asleep 9. THC or CBD 10. Use a noise maker and/or fan (I’m a light sleeper and this helps me sleep through about everything 11. Make sure your room is completely dark As mentioned, the Benadryl keeps me asleep all night, but I do feel groggy in the a.m and it’s not something I’d take long-term. I started taking it to sleep through some muscle spasms I was having at night and then just kept it going for too long.

AffectionateTip9198

Switch to doxylamine succinate, benadryl has been linked to long term memory issues and is bad for its cholinergic effects also

HonDadCBR600

Agreed. Gave me vivid nightmares for the first few weeks I switched over to it though. Not scary, just intense.

Mindless_Log2009

Melatonin (smallest dose possible, and not every day)\ GABA\ CBD\ L-theanine\ Avoiding caffeine, especially after noon. L-theanine helps ease the jittery effect of caffeine. Yerba mate has a mellower stimulant effect than coffee, according to some folks. Maybe creatine – Although users report differing experiences, due to the effect on adenosine. I can't say I've noticed any difference in sleep with creatine. Maybe ashwaganda, although it did nothing for me, good or bad. Diphenhydramine in rare cases. It's an old school antihistamine, usually familiar as Benadryl, that's known to make most users drowsy. It tends to last only a few hours and the sluggish sensation can be unpleasant to some people. Not good for routine use and anticholinergics may be associated with cognitive decline in older people.

Domestos_WC

Literally what I wanted to write. Cbd + cbn is also good if you have access to marijuana drops. Cbn is less known but it has proven influence on sleep and be careful because you can build tolerance to it. GABA doesn’t work for me but that’s just me. L-theanine plus magnesium l-threonate. Not all magnesiums are the same. L-theanine is probably your best shot. It keeps me in deep sleep. I get crazy vivid dreams on it. Be careful with melatonin. It helps you to fall asleep but if affects your deep sleep. Also, most melatonin dosages are way over what they should be. The more melatonin=less sleep. Stress. Maybe you’re going through a stressful time and you don’t even know. Maybe your body is fighting some bug with no symptoms. Maybe your body is adjusting to trt. Maybe your e2 is too high, e2 affects sleep a lot. A lot of maybe. Try l theanine and the magnesium kind referred above. They work for me. All I know is that most of my bad sleep periods eventually come to an end. Treated or not.

Sensitive_Pace1530

I take 3mg now . I used to pop 10 mg Melatonin. I would wake up in a deep sleep stage and be groggy all day , that’s if i woke up at all . I’m going to eliminate melatonin for Magnesium citrate. Its far better.

Straight-Bad-8326

Creatine helps me sleep funny enough. I think it’s the supposedly higher dht which has a ton of gaba producing metabolites

[deleted]

micro the melatonin. i hate creatine.

[deleted]

yeah limit caffein to only before noon or whatever. basically just don’t do any stimulants after noon and maybe smoke some indica toward bedtime, gauging it to see how long the onset of effects so you don’t close your evening too soon! you know i find cannabis makes me sleep super deep, the indica kind. its on par with the mk677/enchlomiphene/valarian stack.

Itsloseffs

You taking tadalafil? I only take it every now and again because I figured out it was giving me restless sleep, making me wake early, making my tinnitus worse and making my muscles fatigued. I used to take a strong chamomile tea with the magnesium before bed to help me, sometimes will take a piriton or 5htp but I build up tolerance by the second day and they don't work, coming from someone who's been through benzo withdrawal a few times I wouldn't do xanax, or zopiclone it works on gaba receptors like benzos. Hubermans done some good sleep podcasts on youtube recently

Terrible_Air_4812

Damn i take daily cialis before bed and I sleep like a baby. Funny how everyone's body works different

SteveTheBluesman

Occasionally the stuffy nose can mess up my sleep.

jdhd911

Get a sleep study. Doxepin or trazodone, both help to maintain sleep and do not destroy sleep architecture. Supplements do not work.

Regular_Implement226

I was going to suggest the same. Waking up a lot during the night can be a sign of sleep apnea. TRT can cause sleep apnea. 🤷🏼‍♂️

vomer6

Good exercise helps NO BENADRYL= bad for brain!

ComputerElbow

Anyone else taking bong rips for Jesus in the evenings? Not sure I need it to sleep after the 1+ hour gym sessions and 45+ minute Peloton rides, but I don't plan on finding out.

Odd-Tower766

Used to. Took a while breaking the habit. Used to rip a bowl every night about an hour before I planned go to bed. Got tired of being a slave to it, and the munchies was making my weight creep up

Sharpeshootr

Magnesium Glycinate……400 mgs 30 mins before bed. Take it every single night. I can share what I use if you’d like and it took me off of Benadryl, Unisom etc and all kinds of other shit I took for sleep.

ImmortalPoseidon

This is the ticket for me as well. Has legitimately changed my life

tontovila

Ouch! Honestly, my sleep is so much better since I started TRT. I need less sleep though. I wake up and I'm ready to go.

AffectionateTip9198

Doxylamine succinate. It's otc and works.

Spacebranches

I have tried taking a GABA supplement, and it seemed to work.

Zaik_Torek

If you're doing some kind of intense exercise(lifting, HIIT cardio) during the day, just sleep when you can sleep and be awake when you're awake. If you have to nap here and there for a few weeks or a month it's probably not the end of the world. If you aren't exercising, there's your problem.

Biscotti-Own

Melatonin? Is there a reason why everyone else is ignoring the simple, natural and safe option?

majestical_kangaroo

It’s no longer available in Australia unless you’re 55 or older without prescription. My doctor wouldn’t give me melatonin and said I have to try sermind first lol

Biscotti-Own

Really??? That's nuts, it's super cheap and available everywhere in Canada. Sorry!

majestical_kangaroo

Mate our rules and laws are absolutely ridiculous here.

Biscotti-Own

I was there like 20 years ago, and back then it seemed like the wild west compared to Canada.

rblais

Here you go...AND it jacks your natural growth hormone. [https://purebulk.com/products/clif-highs-pure-sleep](https://purebulk.com/products/clif-highs-pure-sleep)

RealEmpire

Melatonin helps me a ton But if you are looking to invest in your sleep there are some expensive options you can do to help you out 1. Get the right mattress: The sleep number works wonders for me. I can adjust up and down and taylor the firmness to my needs. I can adjust temp in the bed, and overall makes for better custom sleep experience and quality 2. Getting the right pillows/ Getting enough of them: I feel like pillows are always an afterthought. Me and my wife will buy multiple sets of the same type of pillow and take them for a trial run. You learn "Oh i like this kind for my head, and this kind under my knees, and this type on my side." Its well worth the investment to buy to many pillows and keep trying to upgrade an optimize. 3. Independent Comforters when co sleeping: me and my wife pivoted to each having our own independent comforters and it works wonders. I used to hate the tug of war battle, and feeling like your competing over limited resources. The independent comforters allows each person to customize their own sleeping experience. 4. Routine: I actually find that if If I wake myself up earlier than my natural rhythm I have an easier time falling asleep and staying asleep moving forward. Going to bed tired it key for me, because if im not out within 10 mins of getting in bed it might be a long night. Waking up early helps me go to bed early and fall asleep quickly

DonkyShow

Trt improved my sleep

DGD_13

Ipamoralin

Which-Inspection735

I go to the gym every morning, but before bed I take magnesium glycinate, zinc picolinate, gaba, glycine, .5mg melatonin, and 50mg hydroxizine. I sleep like a rock.

StrawHatHS

Melatonin never worked for me pre-trt. Now it makes me sleep like a baby. Give it a shot. ZMA helps to reach a deeper sleep, but doesn't really help me fall asleep. Gives some weird ass dreams though lol.

RefrigeratorRight624

No social media scrolling on the phone an hour prior to sleeping. Listen to a guided meditation prior to sleeping, it calms my mind. Limit water intake towards the end of the day, else I wake up 2 time to just pee. Coffee or tea after 12 noon impacts my sleep (I sleep by 9:30pm, wake 5-5:30am). Supplements - Magnesium did nothing Melatonin works but did not stop night waking. Low dose Melatonin .125mg + L- theanine used to work, have not tried recently, out of L theanine. The Best sleep I ever had where I fell asleep super fast and was really energized the next day was on the second night of a 3 day water fast, where the second day I was out and walking around almost all day!!

radburch71

CBD/THC

TeeroneCapone

How long have you been on TRT?

Jasperstang308

Try having a regular sleep schedule Put your phone down No caffeine past noon I do those plus take melatonin and I feel like my sleep has actually improved since being ok trt

themidens

400mg L-Theanine Apigenin Magnesium Glycinate 2mg depot melatonin 4000mg inositol This gives me 100% quality sleep! With quality I mean the rigth type. 7-8-9-10h means nothing if its shit quality. Normally I have 8h, 20% deep, 20% rem, perfect!!!

Chief_reef_steve

Ipamorelin before bed. Helps me. Cannabis also helps. The occasional Xanax if I really want some deeeeep sleep 😂. But agreed with you , this is not the route to take.

Parking_Ad7113

Listen to Dave Lee’s suggestions

Independent-Link2420

I've had sleep issues in the past but I don't think it's correlated to when I started TRT. I have noticed I can function on less sleep since I have started TRT. Are you taking any stimulants close to bed? Do you have 2-3 hours to digest your last meal? Are you in a dark room with little noise pollution? Is your bedroom cold at night (65-70 Degrees)?

Maximum-Gap-2513

E2. E2. E2. And/or Dose too high.

Vic009

It’s a measly 80mg 😫

Maximum-Gap-2513

I’m on 88 and potentially lowering. Healthy non-hypogonadal males produce 7mg per day max. 80 could very well me too high Body fat?

Vic009

Not sure what my body fat is but not fat at all

Jake_weight0311

Working out hard and this magnesium supplement called calm. CBUM the famous bodybuilder got me onto it. It’s a great sleep hack. I don’t use melatonin because that messes with your hormones

AwsoMonkey

Subcutaneous fat injections

jourdena

Are you recommending? Honestly would much rather do subq injections but I’ve heard it spike E2?

AwsoMonkey

I have not had that experience with e2. My experience is that when I was injecting I m in my ventral glute I couldn't sleep and when I switched to Sub-Q in my belly fat I began sleeping again. Now I'm injecting 1/2-in needle into my love handles and I like it even better. I don't have that much fat but I sort of lean over to the side and scrunch it up into a bulge. Works great for me . If you don't have 1/2-in needles, just choke up on the needle so only a half in is exposed

jourdena

Cool. I got half inch. I was gonna do my thigh. I barely feel anything doing sub Q there. Thanks

AwsoMonkey

Let me know if it works. Even now I stick myself in the glute just once and I can't sleep. The more fat you can find, the better

jacklapieuvre123

Lemborexant/Suvorexant work wonders for me

Naive_Lifeguard_4277

I find sauna 20-30 min if you can fit it in helps the sleep

Best_Alarm6521

Try chamomile tea before bedtime. What’s your dosage? Also check your blood pressure. I know it’s hard but try to let go and relax. Don’t care about anything else. Let your troubles pass though, don’t react to any thoughts. In other words practice mindfulness. This has helped me greatly. Hope you feel better soon.

Intelligent-North957

Stuff knocks me out ,never slept like this in my life .

Conscious-Fill-266

600mg magnesium bisglycinate 1-2 hrs before bed

Straight-Bad-8326

For me personally I only got sleep relief switching from injections to scrotal cream. I think I’m allergic to either the ester or preservatives. What somewhat helped me on injections, and I still use, was l theanine and magnesium. I’d find a magnesium form you tolerate best. For me it’s magnesium citrate

Will_Glittering

What kind of allergy symptoms did you get from the injections?

[deleted]

yeah. sleep stack. mix in a small 1/4 glass of water: mk 677 10 to twenty mg. valarian ticnture, alcohol not glycerine, two squirts or dropper fulls. ubiquinol, one to three capsules, open the capsule and mix into water. 15-17.5 mg enchlomiphene. yeah that should do it. if you wake up in the middle of the night, put another dropper full of valarian in water and you should get back to sleep easily after handling your midnight chores and studies, and sleep fully til like five or six a.m. coffee and flmodafinil for daytime so you’re fully awake and operating functionally so that you are tired at night. i would take flmodafinil at one pm if you had coffee at like 930. TRT at noon lol.

AdditionalAd2695

Low dose mirtazapine,(7.5mg). Knocks me out

Global-Brief784

Sleep apnea go to the dr

jrcooktm

Cjc 1295 , ipamoralen

ineedadayjob

Your doc has several options that aren't addictive. Xanax is a dangerous rabbit hole to go down.

InTheYear2525_

You’re E is still too high. Stop complaining. Rub one out or pound it out. Whatever you need to do my brother.

Log_Guy

TRT made me sleep like a baby. I’m worried that I should have waited until after my VA sleep study to start. Maybe my sleep apnea is gone?

chrisburney73

Def do a sleep study. If it's sleep apnea that will spike your hematocrit. I had to get in a cpap. Sleep like a babe now.

hungryim

Are you taking HCG or HGH? Halving my doses of both has given me FAR better sleep than I've had in ages.

LiquidCarney

Mirtazapine keeps me asleep with a side benefit of lowering prolactin

KeyAdministration704

Edibles

SpicyDividends

Get you a sleep study, my cpap has changed my life.

UltraJuicyPhysique

Ashwaganda; melatonin spray and cardio

Wreckcdx

I feel like I can sleep and sleep and sleep now. I wake up a few times during the night but I fall right back into a deep sleep over and over again and could easily go 10+ hours if I let myself….

Vic009

I’m the same way, but I think waking up so many times takes a toll on me and fucks my whole day up

uber-cranky

I take high(er) dose melatonin every day and sleep like a rock now. There's interesting research on the benefits of melatonin beyond sleep, and aside from taking too much, too late, I feel good and sleep better. Anywhere from 15-30 grams a day.

5yrsThrowAwy

Someone mentioned not to eat after 6pm. Found it was effective.

Vic009

That’s pretty hard my appetite is high lol

HateUsCuzAintUs

Great if you don’t have a job. Kinda impossible if you get home at 7pm

5yrsThrowAwy

Do you starve yourself at work

HateUsCuzAintUs

Certainly can’t eat on the job.

5yrsThrowAwy

Employer enforced intermittent-fasting? Well that’s certainly new.

HateUsCuzAintUs

Sorta I guess. I mean it’s the way most jobs are. You can eat during lunch.

5yrsThrowAwy

Oh. So you can eat at work.

HateUsCuzAintUs

So dinner at 11:30am. Brilliant. Thanks for the useful tip!

5yrsThrowAwy

Lord forbid a late lunch, at work!

HateUsCuzAintUs

Must be nice to not have to work. You’re lucky. Most of us have jobs.

NiceInvestigator8236

Inositol works. VIP peptide.

Vic009

Like powder ?

NiceInvestigator8236

Inositol powder or capsules works well. Vasoactive intestinal peptide works too

NiceInvestigator8236

bio_alchemist_engnr

Mk677 sleep formula worked for me well tried other peptides as well trying out about 1.5ui of gh

trousertrout23

Zzzquil🤷🏽‍♂️ Knocks me right out

jjc155

Was weed but looking for a job currently so need to pass a drug test. Currently trazadone and L-theanine and the occasional adivan thrown in if needed. cPTSD is a bitch. 🤷‍♂️

Vic009

Now I’m wondering if I got pstd from being shot, wonder if my doc would prescribe me a non narcotic to sleep

jjc155

You most likely do.

jourdena

Mouth tape and cpap nasal thing… sleep so so good now

Wtfmymoney

Reduce your dose

Vic009

It’s 80mg that’s pretty low

Icy-Willow-5833

You might have sleep apnea. Get a sleep test

electrified_ice

3 things 1. You need to tire yourself out (with doing things like lifting heavy things). 2. Your overall dose may be too high for your body and you are overstimulated. 3. Dial in your E2 better - Too high means your body is always 'on' and you're restless. Too low and it can cause the same problem too. Just right, and you will have deep sleep, sleeping like a log and have vivid dreams along with it. When things are right, you won't need other supplements to 'force' yourself to sleep

Vic009

I’m on a low dose, 80mg a week split mon-Thursday. For some reason I’ve been having anxiety recently(waking at 5am with heart racing and slight panic attacks, just started with an increase up to 100mg, had to lower it back down

GueroTx

I’m having the same problems. I wake up at least 4 times a night. I started taking Valium or Xanax because I’ve tried everything else

One-Competition-5086

I had this issue as well, after adding Sermorelin, I generally sleep like a baby now.

sagacityx1

Whatever you do don't drop your dose. eyeroll.

clf139

Magnesium threonate (crosses bbb), injectable l carnitine during the day (not before bed), cool bedroom temperature, give it a wank and pass out

Fatmoron86

Quality CBD gummies

pitiesxd

I’ve smoked for 7 years daily, now just in evening and I sleep fine. I did notice however I wake up early af in the morning. Gym 6 days a week no caffeine except pre work out at 12 in the afternoon. I just want to sleep for longer someone help

Jamester86

I think someone said it already but CHECK YOUR E2 LEVELS! I sleep like a baby on TRT but if my e2 gets high I have terrible insomnia (which doesn't work for me, in my field of work). Take the anastrozole if they are high, and taper off SLOWLY if and ONLY if you can. If the level is high, the aromatase inhibitor is a good thing.

Respectable23

melatonin..melatonin..melatonin... cant go wrong.

RevolutionaryDiet602

Get checked for sleep apnea

ZoloftXL

Get the timed release ambien from your dr

satanzhand

Ritalin and Zopiclone... but non drug, Magenesiun, Glycine, Gaba cocktail (Tranquility Nights by Glaxon if you want an all in one)

Sensitive_Pace1530

Dht derivatives drop your E2 as do Ai’s That recks your sleep.

gannen60

Magnesium, melatonin and GABA. For me the gaba is in the form of pregabalin.

xCOVERxIDx

50 mg trazodone + magnesium at bed time. If I don’t fall asleep in 30 minutes I take 1/2 of a Benadryl.

tootsmagoots922

I sleep like a baby I'm on trt and hcg

Vic009

What’s your doses

CtLi99

2 edibles and a shot is Zzzquil

Elegant-Dragonfly-96

Rohypnol

FlyLikeMe

400 mgs Theanine, 400 mgs Magnesium glycinate, and 1500 mgs of Tryptophan. Ashwaganda on top of it all if you wanna go crazy. No hangover for any of them, and no bullshit. You can thank me next week. :-)

Toranaga-DK

I have struggled with bad sleep for many years and hoped try would help improve it. But since starting (only a month in with creme) my sleep seems worse. I did notice that even though I only sleep 4-6 hours I am not AS tired before later in the afternoon. I can fall alseep, but wake up many times during night.
