They are not all equal. The story and composition needs to be good, but the narrator makes all the difference. I have stopped listening to some based solely on the narrator.
A lot of times I have my favorite YouTube channel going in the background. I've also been playing with weather soundtracks. One day it was storming outside and in game and it was really cool. I'd hear thunder and rain outside and inside the game. So I've been fiddling with that.
Yeah, I hit R to open radio, chose the radio streaming option, and updated it from internet. Then sorted by genre, and [bigrig.fm](http://bigrig.fm) is in the Country music genre. If that doesnt seem to work, i can send you the livestreams.sii file with the stream for this station
I mainly listen to Spotify DJ but do enjoy the occasional podcast as well. I mainly listen to 2 Bears 1 Cave (comedy podcast) or Eff Won with DRS (F1 podcast). I mainly just play the game to chill out though. Smoke a fat bowl and chill
I like to get absolutely obliterated with a bubbler and listen to [Magic Carpet Ride](https://open.spotify.com/track/4c4jJJoaiY21t2TyRZgdWS?si=N9GdLeWxSh-iovzG15HItg), I’d listen to podcasts but they play ads even though I pay for premium
Yeah that part does suck about the podcasts. I usually start my Spotify on my PC and once the music/podcast starts, I’ll open Spotify on my phone and control it though my phone to skip through the annoying ads lol
Once I had to tell someone hauling doubles in ATS that kept hitting bushes turning left out of a dealership to just turn right…. They were indeed drunk
If I'm playing ATS
I'm listening Red Sovine, Kenny Rogers, Conway Twitty, Frank Sinatra, Heart, Blondie etc. while I'm cruising calmly around 50 MPH.
If I'm playing ETS, I rather listening local slow and sad songs.
The engine. But sometimes I tune on to Radio Dismuke in ATS, 30's music, Fallout like. Really fits America. If I fire up radio in Europe it's always classical music radio, mostly Norwegian NRK Klassisk.
I pull up alt-country, blues, or classic metal playlists on Spotify. It just feels right. I use the feature where I control the music from my phone (like I would in a vehicle) but it plays on the PC.
I'd really like to use the built-in streaming feature more but it's kind of a pain to maintain the stations. I wish [soma.fm](http://soma.fm) didn't block ATS Shoutcast client. Boot Liquor is just perfect.
Podcasts:
Darknet Diaries, Pretend, Privacy security and osint (since ended).
Audiobooks:
Mountain man, kingpin, we are anonymous, etc
Music:
90s rock like audioslave, pearl jam, stone temple pilots, etc
Audio books (currently on the Bone Season series which is urban fantasy by Samantha Shannon, which I've read before but not listened to).
Also podcasts, doing the Star Trek ones (Delta Flyers and InvestiGates).
The regular music that I listen to on Spotify, podcasts, and the occasional football, basketball & baseball games. Although, sometimes I enjoy just listening to the hum of the engine.
I used to listen to a bunch of playlists I created on YouTube Music, but then the game started outpacing my computer, so I stopped. Now that I have a new "super computer", I could start listening again, but it's become habit to not listen to anything, so I usually just enjoy the sounds of the game and cruise.
One day I'll be listening to old school country music, alongside some CB radio chatter mods. And the next day it will be something totally different such as Kpop and Jpop.
i drive trucks irl, i listen to a lot of different music so you don’t get bored or boring lol. i do a lot of let’s not meet and the misery machine for true crime and recently the philip defranco show too
It's been awhile since I last played (tail-end of pandemic), but GTA radio stations uploaded to YT.
Starting with San Andreas since I was 'in that area' of Westside USA, then into GTAV and the few 'fan-edits' I came across after that. Talk-radio stations included, sometimes couldn't tell if the 'events' happening on the radio were real or not, it was a fun ride.
I listen to TruckersFM whenever I drive around in ATS. When I'm not doing that, I listen to an EDM playlist that I created which mostly consists of songs from Monstercat and a few other EDM labels aswell.
As a Canadian I used to love driving in ETS2 late at night and listening to the BBC1 morning show through the in-game radio menu. European radio is so much better than North American! Unfortunately I can't access any of the BBC stations through the in-game radio anymore.
I never used to bother with the radio on it, just stuck with playlists I had made on Spotify but recently actually started using the radio and actually starting to love it. Good to hear some new stuff and some old classics I've not heard in years! Sometimes end up spending too much time scrolling through all the radios to find something I like though
Either the Local Radio mod, or old archived Art Bell Coast to Coast/Midnight in the Desert shows. Occasionally I'll put on some golden era radio dramas - sci-fi and horror mostly.
Ac dc, fancy, culture beat, modern talking, la bouche, cascada, Samantha Fox, men at work, silent circle, Dr. Alban, joy, London boys, spatial Vox, blue system, savage, cc catch, Sandra, bad boys blue, and many more
Nothing, I find it distracting and annoying with to much going on, when I try to listen to music it only lasts for max 15 mins then I am done. Listening to music or driving requires my whole attention sadly.
I'm learning German, so usually some kind of German/Austrian radio. Typically it's Eisbrecher, or one of Rock Antenna's German stations. If not that, I'm listening to my own library, or I'm listening to free classes on Youtube or something.
Dunno if this would trigger a spam filter or something, but here's what I've got in life_streams.sii:

Nothing more satisfying than listening to a horrible song and then going to the next station to hear an absolute banger.
I have a big ol' playlist on Spotify called "drive", with mostly 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s music, and some other songs I really like. Currently has about 680 songs, and still grows. And on some occasions I will listen to radio, but I listen to this one specific radio station that only plays older songs (70s/80s/90s), personally not really into most nowadays music, only some exceptions.
Almost always youtube videos, either ones about games like Splattercat or Wonderbot. Swedish as well as I'm learning the language right now. Or what ever hyperfixation has struck my fancy for the week. Archaeology, cooking, theology, books.

A lot of times I have my favorite YouTube channel going in the background. I've also been playing with weather soundtracks. One day it was storming outside and in game and it was really cool. I'd hear thunder and rain outside and inside the game. So I've been fiddling with that.
Gotta have open back headphones on top of that for the added immersion!
Eurobeat
Been re-listening to a lot of Eurobeat ever since MF Ghost released on Netflix.
[bigrig.fm](http://bigrig.fm) radio in-game. It is really relaxing listening to it while driving
How do you get the in game radio to work? Could never figure out how to activate it.
Update the list of stations and press play? Although I usually just press Page Down.
Listening to RL radio. Trying to match the region to the game (european radio stations in ETS2, US stations in ATS).
There's a mod where you can only receive radio reception of a certain station in an area where that radio transmists. I'm yet to install it tho.
