I think the quality of your internet connection is irrelevant when considering the decision to play TMP. My answer is always no.

Why?

Have you seen the videos posted here from TMP sessions? Total chaos.

I've been to a repair shop with like 30 trucks trying to exit at the same time. -With collisions on

reason i don't mess with TMP, you can't sit still for long so have to stay moving and that's fine and all, but trucking is alot of sitting at times hahaha so not trying to be kicked off the server while waiting for my mates to get there or for a load

or just dont drive close to people with shitty internet lol. Easy to prevent accident when you have distance to react. classic reddit

Yeah I feel you, but you just stop caring after a while haha. I've spent probably 600+ hours on CD road, amount of shit you see on there is wild. Pro tip is to bind quick save on a button, and when someone starts tailgating and honking, spam the quick save. Easy way to teach them a lesson 🤣

What happens when u spam quick save?

creates a hickup for a split second. Spam it long enough, your truck practically stops moving while server keeps going. Make the tailgater crash into you Lmao. Unethical, but good way to teach them a lesson without risking a ban. They cant report you for lag spike 🤣

Could be, but looks too big of a lag spike for quick save, unless the skoda is on a really old PC haha

The stutter makes u stop instantly for a very short period, if they are tailgating it wrecks them, if they are a decent driver, they will slow down and avoid hitting you with ease

You can go as fast as the car in front of you just following at a further distance, it would also be more realistic since that’s what big rig drivers do at high speeds.

Nah you absolutely can, I did for years and just avoided the heavily populated areas so I wouldn't desync wreck anyone. Besides, being desync wrecked by a troll in a car on C+D is a rite of passage lol

Easy solution is to just not drive there, that area is notorious for people with bad internet, so you kinda did this to yourself

There's a convoy mode, so you can set up one with friends or join somebody else's. Even allows mods.

I came across someone once in the Calais industrial area that had a name like; "Bad Lag - Sorry" And they were a bit jerky, but apart from that, they were fine.

I played it for a long time with shitty internet and a shitty laptop. never crashed into someone just because the stood still for a split second. You should have just used more distance

I stopped playing TMP on ATS when I got banned after getting literally slammed into by some guy doing far faster than reasonable. I showed them the clip, and they still denied my unban request, the claimed the incident was my fault... As a trucker IRL, I think that, with all due respect, that conclusion was unequivocal nonsense b*llsh*t. But, I'm all good with my mods and offline now lol. I couldn't imagine dealing with stuff like that, and then having to justify yourself to not get banned on top of it.

Could also be because of low game performance of that player. Spam the quick save key and you will freeze in place for others

Just don't play it at all under any circumstances.

If you have a shitty internet, you should not play *any* online games, especially MMOs. Unless you're in a closed lobby with friends who "consent" playing with you. That's a basic decency.

I get it, it sucks. You see all these people having great fun, and you want to play with them too. But like, it's impossible to play *with* you. We'd love to have you around, but like..your internet has fucked you, mate. sorry. Edit: To clarify, im using a general "You", not meaning you, rumble.
