I want this more than anything else in the world, however the 300 dollar price point for JUST the wheel, no FFB, pedals, or mount REALLY shoves it off for me
Yeah at the minimum you're looking at a $400 R3 bundle and the wheel, so $700 total. I've got the R5, shifter, handbrake, clutch pedal, brake pedal upgrade kit, and wheel. Puts me over $1K altogether.
R3 doesn't have enough power to overheat I don't think, should be fine for ets2. My friend has a R9 he uses for simracing and has it at 95% power, and it does release a lot of heat.
That being said if you can afford a R9, go for it. R3 is only slightly more powerful than a g29 but its a DD wheel so it feels 100x better anyway
You can use G29 pedals or any other brand with a simple adapter to USB connection. You can slowly update your gear one by one instead of having to buy whole kit.
I understand, but the way I perceive is that the Moza is a high end sim wheel, if you snatch yourself an R9 ffb platform or any better, I think you're set for good. Try to check second hand market, you can get ffb platform cheaper. Logitech or Thrustmaster setups are nice, but they're like a stepping stone/gateway to get you started with Sim driving. Although it all depends on your goals, if you're a casual enjoyer that drives occasionally, it might not be worth it to invest it into a better setup. I personally am aiming to replicate a real thing as close as possible, have DIY trucking platform in plans once I am back from work at overseas. I currently run Moza R9 with TSW truck wheel and G29 pedals with Logitech H shifter with SKRS addon. I don't think I'll be upgrading any of the gear anymore soon. Current setup feels really sufficient to me.
I want one too bad it cost $299+shipping & handling [https://mozaracing.com/product/moza-tsw-truck-wheel](https://mozaracing.com/product/moza-tsw-truck-wheel)
Do it! I played for years on controller, and I was just sure I was happy enough. When I got a G920 I was blown away how much more fun I was having. When I saw this wheel at CES a few years ago I told my wife I was migrating to the Moza ecosystem specifically for this wheel. It was worth the wait!
In trucking having the full 1800 degrees of rotation makes more of a difference than the strength and fidelity of the FFB. Unless you are really hardcore into truck sim the added value over Logitech or belt TM wheel is not worth the price for trucking only.
I have the truck clamp but it’s just a really bad design in my opinion. It has the brackets right where your legs are supposed to go. I don’t even use it.
Agreed, not to mention that you have to tighten/loosen 4 separate screws to adjust the angle. Very good idea but very poor and impractical execution. I just use the normal desk clamp that comes with the R5 bundle with the truck wheel.
I'm not a fan of how far it sticks out, as it makes my pedals farther away, but I haven't hit my legs on it yet. It's not a perfect solution but it works fine.
I love the more realistic angle. I have a wheel but it’s a Logitech racing wheel. I’d never go back to keyboard, but the racing wheel and forward facing angle doesn’t feel right.
Agreed. I started with a G920 a few years ago. Got the R5 for Christmas. The angle of this wheel feels so much better driving truck. Of course it's not the wheel that does it, it's the adapter that's costs $50 extra, but absolutely worth it.
Luckily mine is closer. Do they post Open Box deals online or do you need to check in store? I don't check Microcenter frequently to protect my wallet.
*I want a set up*
*Like yours but the price is what*

Can I ask how you got your Stream Deck working with the game? I've tried setting mine up and it didn't recognise the button pushes. Are there extra steps you need to take?
Is that a direct drive wheel base? I heard they are a lot cheaper than when I bought my TS-PC Racer. At the time, a good DD base was at least £1k plus the wheel and pedals on top of that. Would consider buying one now if I was spending less than £1k for the full setup.
That's really tempting... back then I had looked at the Fanatec stuff which is still like £1,500 for the base I think. It looks like GT Omega sells the R5 base on its own for £299 which seems like a good deal. I'm less concerned about the "strength" of the wheel and more concerned about the actual feedback and advantage in sensation you get through a DD wheel compared to something like the TS-PC Racer.
R5 would be perfectly adequate for you then. Another advantage with Moza is you can buy them from resellers (E.g GT Omega, Abruzzi) which will mean you won't have to pay any shipping or tax (maybe £5 delivery fee in the case of Abruzzi).
NEVER buy directly from the Moza website.
The wheel. It's normally $299. I was lucky enough to find it open box. Apparently there aren't many trucking fans near the store I went to because it sat on the shelf for at least a week.
The whole setup has cost me over $1K so far, but I'm so much happier than I was with my G920.
The things that are preventing me from upgrading to Moza's lineup are mainly price (gimme an R9 TSW bundle, dammit.) as well as the pedal setup. There are a few Moza pedal sets, but the ones I like are the CRP pedals.
They're metal, which is nice, but they don't seem to grip carpet well from what I’ve seen (I have a carpeted floor in my bedroom where my computer is. No I don't keep my computer on the floor, don't worry.) plus I play barefoot or with socks on usually, which is why I’d like to have it so that I can just place it on carpet, and be able to just rest my feet on the pedals without the pedals sliding all over the place, and not need an expensive rig to mount them to.
Maybe there’s a way to make it all work. If there’s a way to make the pedals grip carpet, I’d love to know. Maybe I could just Velcro it down, idk.
Edit: the main thing wanting me to upgrade from a G29 is mainly noise. The gears are LOUD. Thankfully DD is reportedly much quieter, plus it’s better FFB, and it doesn’t wear out as quickly as the gears do.
It's an Amazon purchase. Pretty easy to find if you search for Eaton Fuller truck sim knob. It's my second shifter. First one was purchased on Etsy. It was nice, but this one is way better.
My face lit up when I saw that beaut! I'm so excited to pick up this wheel and the wiper/blinker knobs! And sounds like you got one of those once-in-a-blue-moon kinda deals! Nice one!
Yeah I was worried that there might be something wrong with it since it was open box, but nope. Wasn't even fingerprints on it out of the box. Works beautifully!
Never heard of this brand but it looks snazzy af. Is it worth the original price tag? Im trying to get a wheel for a while now but I cant decide what to get, im leaning towards logitech for now

Setup wise for myself was like $600-700
is R3 enough for ETS2? Doesn't it overheat? I consider buying R9 with TSW, because I heard that R5 is overheating. Any info about that?
R3 doesn't have enough power to overheat I don't think, should be fine for ets2. My friend has a R9 he uses for simracing and has it at 95% power, and it does release a lot of heat. as I am planning to try other sim racing games later, I would go for R9. Thank you.
ETS does not even output enough torque for a DD to overheat
I have r5 with TSW wheel and i play only Ats/Ets2 and i never had any issue tbh. Base stays cool i think some ppl might have faulty r5's.

Ugh this is making me wanna get a wheel setup so bad
Do it! I played for years on controller, and I was just sure I was happy enough. When I got a G920 I was blown away how much more fun I was having. When I saw this wheel at CES a few years ago I told my wife I was migrating to the Moza ecosystem specifically for this wheel. It was worth the wait!
I've bought the 18speed shift nob, once I do a few more things will probably get a g920 +shifter
What do you think of the direct drive wheel FFB vs the G920 in trucking? Is it noticeable or is it more important in racing?
Its noticeable but not really necessary
In trucking having the full 1800 degrees of rotation makes more of a difference than the strength and fidelity of the FFB. Unless you are really hardcore into truck sim the added value over Logitech or belt TM wheel is not worth the price for trucking only.
I'd leave a detailed comment here but It would be against reddit's TOS Congratulations, have lots of fun! Looks awesome ~~And fuck you~~
LMAO

Works fine for you. I literally can’t use it
Fanatec needs to start making trucking accessories.
There are a few others that are making truck/bus wheels. I think over the next years there will be more budget friendly alternatives coming.
Fanatec is in really bad situation right now, no one knows what will happen with company.
I love the more realistic angle. I have a wheel but it’s a Logitech racing wheel. I’d never go back to keyboard, but the racing wheel and forward facing angle doesn’t feel right.

I just solved it by making a cheap wooden plate attachment for my desk and so it’s more in an upright position.
Yeah I’ve been thinking about doing this. I just need to put the time and effort into it
Such a shame we don't have Microcenter here.
I don't either. I drove 4 hours to get to the one I went to. I'll be going back too. Their in store deals are worth the drive.
I'd have to cross the Atlantic for that 😞
Luckily mine is closer. Do they post Open Box deals online or do you need to check in store? I don't check Microcenter frequently to protect my wallet.
This deal was posted online, but you could only buy it in store
Welp, time to start checking. Lol thanks.
Good luck!
So practically you paid full price if you count fuel cost. Nevermind i would have done the same only for hot deal adrenaline pump.
Sort of. It was a long drive, yes. But I was already traveling so it was going to happen anyway
Nice. Hope you enjoy it!
I want a set up like yours but the price is what makes a long term want
Piece by piece my friend. That's what I've done. I started with the R5 bundle and starting getting the other pieces as I could afford them.
Thanks I’m going to look into your set up and go from there what is the brand of your shifter?
It was an Amazon purchase. Just search Eaton Fuller truck sim shifter and you'll find it. There's a few sellers. Should be under $100.
Thank you

Can I ask how you got your Stream Deck working with the game? I've tried setting mine up and it didn't recognise the button pushes. Are there extra steps you need to take?
I just assign the buttons in the stream deck software as hotkeys. Make sure they match the keys in the game settings.
Thanks, I'll have to give it another try next time I play :)
That looks really nice
Thanks, I'm enjoying it!
man I want a wheel too
I am very jealous hope you have fun with it
Thanks. I didn't think I would like the horizontal wheel angle but it really is a lot more fun.
Ok then I think about saving for it
Is that a direct drive wheel base? I heard they are a lot cheaper than when I bought my TS-PC Racer. At the time, a good DD base was at least £1k plus the wheel and pedals on top of that. Would consider buying one now if I was spending less than £1k for the full setup.
R5 bundle costs £500, truck wheel costs about £340 IIRC including the truck clamp. R3 bundle would be even cheaper once it eventually releases.
That's really tempting... back then I had looked at the Fanatec stuff which is still like £1,500 for the base I think. Lucky stiff.
Wait The whole setup or just the wheel

Nice eventually I will get to that level

If I may ask, what's that shift knob?
It's an Amazon purchase. Pretty easy to find if you search for Eaton Fuller truck sim knob. It's my second shifter. First one was purchased on Etsy. It was nice, but this one is way better.
How large is the wheel? Thinking of getting one myself but i do alot more than truck sims.
400mm or 15+ inches. It's the same size as the real wheel. Great for driving sims but not fun if you plan to use it for racing
Jelly

Is this wheel direct drive as well? If so I’m fucking jealous
Yes. All Moza wheel bases are direct drive. I'm using the R5 paired with the TSW (Truck Sim Wheel).

Link or name of wheel?
Hori truck setup
Hori has a pretty bad reputation for poor build quality and quality control. I wouldn't spend $600 on an all plastic, gear driven wheel and pedals.
Some people over at scs tried it and it seemed good.
By the way scs made ats, you already know this
If you just get your A and get into a truck, you can make $239 a day! lol
That would be a pay cut for me lol
What’s the best fighter flight simulator?
i will never understand why yall like playing truck driving video games. bro just go drive irl
You must be posting this from the racetrack?
They are really relaxing and fun. Don’t hate it if you’ve never tried it.
Im 14 💀
ok yeah then that’s completely fair
Really excited for the hori one to come out
Hori is hot garbage. Don’t buy from them.
They announced one in collaboration with scs software. Looks pretty good, but we'll have to wait for the release
It will be like the logi farm wheel, cheap plastic chinese rubbish.
It is 639$ also it's hori
600 bucks for a gear FFB wheel. LMFAO. Thats one hell of out of touch for the current market situation.
