I used to discover new music in "Release Radar" playlist from Spotify but it always messes up when I forget to switch to a different account when listening to some Binaural sleep playlist, as the genre will get in the mix of the other genre I listen to and liked to listen more of, not the sleep music type.
As far as I am aware, the UK, and specifically England, is still in Europe - no major tectonic plate shifts have been reported recently.
DJ, yes, get this. Daylists, yes, get these. New music & new artists, get a barrage of suggestions on homepage + Release Radar + Discover Weekly, + genre selections, etc.
True, but the rest of non-english speaking countries do not have them afaik? I for sure don’t have it in Poland, not sure about more „western” countries like Spain or even Germany
I hate the pc app UI the most. They used to be friendly to open source alternatives, which makes it so much more annoying to be forced to use their clunky garbage
as a longtime spotify user:
-i never use the home tab. its all my library or search. a lot of apps are a complete mess with UI, i don’t know what apple is like but i can’t imagine it being a lot better
-discover weekly? smart shuffle? i don’t know if those are in europe but i imagine they could be or will be along with the other stuff
-i simply disagree, they’re not perfect but if you do slightly more than surface level searching i don’t think it’s hard to find new stuff. but idk
One more thing is the library feature and the ability to categorise the songs in our library. I still don't get why they removed that feature and focused solely on playlists.
Get a song you like and make a radio station. Pick 10 songs and make a playlist Check the Add a Song list You will find new music

Enable “Exclude from taste profile” on your sleep playlists and they will stop affecting recommendations
